Ezekiel 22

1 A catalogue of sins in Jerusalem. 13 God will burn them as dross in his furnace. 23 The general corruption of prophets, priests, princes, and people.

 22:1 Then the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 22:2 “And you, son 1121 of man 120, will you judge 8199, will you judge 8199 the bloody 1818 city 5892b? Then cause her to know 3045 all 3605 her abominations 8441.

 22:3 “You shall say 559, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “A city 5892b shedding 8210 blood 1818 in her midst 8432, so that her time 6256 will come 935, and that makes 6213a idols 1544, contrary 5921 to her [interest], for defilement 2930!

 22:4 “You have become 816 guilty 816 by the blood 1818 which 834 you have shed 8210, and defiled 2930 by your idols 1544 which 834 you have made 6213a. Thus you have brought 7126 your day 3117 near 7126 and have come 935 to your years 8141; therefore 5921 3651 I have made 6213a you a reproach 2781 to the nations 1471 and a mocking 7048 to all 3605 the lands 776.

 22:5 “Those who 7138 are near 7138 and those who 7350 are far 7350 from you will mock 7046 you, you of ill 2931 repute 8034, full 7227a of turmoil 4103.

 22:6 ¶ “Behold 2009, the rulers 5387a of Israel 3478, each 376 according to his power 2220, have been 1961 in you for the purpose 4616 of shedding 8210 blood 1818.

 22:7 “They have treated 7043 father 1 and mother 517 lightly 7043 within you. The alien 1616 they have oppressed 6213a 6233 in your midst 8432; the fatherless 3490 and the widow 490 they have wronged 3238 in you.

 22:8 “You have despised 959 My holy 6944 things 6944 and profaned 2490c My sabbaths 7676.

 22:9 “Slanderous 7400 men 376 have been 1961 in you for the purpose 4616 of shedding 8210 blood 1818, and in you they have eaten 398 at the mountain 2022 [shrines]. In your midst 8432 they have committed 6213a acts 2154 of lewdness 2154.

 22:10 “In you they have uncovered 1540 [their] fathers’ 1 nakedness 6172; in you they have humbled 6031a her who 2931 was unclean 2931 in her menstrual 5079 impurity 5079.

 22:11 “One 376 has committed 6213a abomination 8441 with his neighbor’s 7453 wife 802 and another 376 has lewdly 2154 defiled 2930 his daughter-in-law 3618. And another 376 in you has humbled 6031a his sister 269, his father’s 1 daughter 1323.

 22:12 “In you they have taken 3947 bribes 7810 to shed 8210 blood 1818; you have taken 3947 interest 5392 and profits 8636, and you have injured 1214 your neighbors 7453 for gain 1214 by oppression 6233, and you have forgotten 7911 Me,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.

 22:13 ¶ “Behold 2009, then, I smite 5221 My hand 3709 at your dishonest 1215 gain 1215 which 834 you have acquired 6213a and at the bloodshed 1818 which 834 is among 8432 you.

 22:14 “Can your heart 3820 endure 5975, or 518 can your hands 3027 be strong 2388 in the days 3117 that I will deal 6213a with you? I, the LORD 3068, have spoken 1696 and will act 6213a.

 22:15 “I will scatter 6327a you among the nations 1471 and I will disperse 2219 you through the lands 776, and I will consume 8552 your uncleanness 2932a from you.

 22:16 “You will profane 2490c yourself in the sight 5869 of the nations 1471, and you will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.”’”

 22:17 ¶ And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 22:18 “Son 1121 of man 120, the house 1004 of Israel 3478 has become 1961 dross 5509 to Me; all 3605 of them are bronze 5178 and tin 913 and iron 1270 and lead 5777 in the furnace 3564a; they are the dross 5509 of silver 3701.

 22:19 “Therefore 3651, thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Because 3282 all 3605 of you have become 1961 dross 5509, therefore 3651, behold 2009, I am going to gather 6908 you into the midst 8432 of Jerusalem 3389.

 22:20 ‘As they gather 6910 silver 3701 and bronze 5178 and iron 1270 and lead 5777 and tin 913 into the furnace 3564a to blow 5301 fire 784 on it in order to melt 5413 [it], so 3651 I will gather 6908 [you] in My anger 639 and in My wrath 2534 and I will lay 5117 you [there] and melt 5413 you.

 22:21 ‘I will gather 3664 you and blow 5301 on you with the fire 784 of My wrath 5678, and you will be melted 5413 in the midst 8432 of it.

 22:22 ‘As silver 3701 is melted 2046 in the furnace 3564a, so 3651 you will be melted 5413 in the midst 8432 of it; and you will know 3045 that I, the LORD 3068, have poured 8210 out My wrath 2534 on you.’”

 22:23 ¶ And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 22:24 “Son 1121 of man 120, say 559 to her, ‘You are a land 776 that is not cleansed 2891 or rained 1652 on in the day 3117 of indignation 2195.’

 22:25 “There is a conspiracy 7195 of her prophets 5030 in her midst 8432 like a roaring 7580 lion 738 tearing 2963 the prey 2964. They have devoured 398 lives 5315; they have taken 3947 treasure 2633 and precious 3366 things 3366; they have made 7235a many 7235a widows 490 in the midst 8432 of her.

 22:26 “Her priests 3548 have done 2554 violence 2554 to My law 8451 and have profaned 2490c My holy 6944 things 6944; they have made 914 no 3808 distinction 914 between 996 the holy 6944 and the profane 2455, and they have not taught 3045 the difference between 996 the unclean 2931 and the clean 2889; and they hide 5956 their eyes 5869 from My sabbaths 7676, and I am profaned 2490c among 8432 them.

 22:27 “Her princes 8269 within 7130 her are like wolves 2061 tearing 2963 the prey 2964, by shedding 8210 blood 1818 [and] destroying 6 lives 5315 in order 4616 to get 1214 dishonest 1214 gain 1215.

 22:28 “Her prophets 5030 have smeared 2902 whitewash 8602b for them, seeing 2372 false 7723 visions 7723 and divining 7080 lies 3577 for them, saying 559, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068,’ when the LORD 3068 has not spoken 1696.

 22:29 “The people 5971a of the land 776 have practiced 6231 oppression 6233 and committed 1497 robbery 1498, and they have wronged 3238 the poor 6041 and needy 34 and have oppressed 6231 the sojourner 1616 without 3808 justice 4941.

 22:30 “I searched 1245 for a man 376 among 4480 them who would build 1443 up the wall 1447 and stand 5975 in the gap 6556 before 6440 Me for the land 776, so 1115 that I would not destroy 7843 it; but I found 4672 no 3808 one.

 22:31 “Thus I have poured 8210 out My indignation 2195 on them; I have consumed 3615 them with the fire 784 of My wrath 5678; their way 1870 I have brought 5414 upon their heads 7218,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.
