 2:2 And ´Ëliyyà אֵלִיָּה 452 said 559 z8799 unto x413 ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע, 477 Tarry 3427 z8798 here, x6311 I pray thee; x4994 for x3588 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 hath sent 7971 z8804 me to x5704 Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל. 1008 And ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע 477 said 559 z8799 [unto him, As] Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 liveth, 2416 and [as] thy soul 5315 liveth, 2416 I will not x518 leave 5800 z8799 thee. וַיֵּצְאוּ בְנֵי־הַנְּבִיאִים אֲשֶׁר־בֵּית־אֵל אֶל־אֱלִישָׁע וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו הֲיָדַעְתָּ כִּי הַיּוֹם יְהוָה לֹקֵחַ אֶת־אֲדֹנֶיךָ מֵעַל רֹאשֶׁךָ וַיֹּאמֶר גַּם־אֲנִי יָדַעְתִּי הֶחֱשׁוּ

וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ אֵלִיָּהוּ אֱלִישָׁע שֵׁב־נָא פֹה כִּי יְהוָה שְׁלָחַנִי יְרִיחוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר חַי־יְהוָה וְחֵי־נַפְשְׁךָ אִם־אֶעֶזְבֶךָּ וַיָּבֹאוּ יְרִיחוֹ

 2:4 And ´Ëliyyà אֵלִיָּה 452 said 559 z8799 unto him, ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע, 477 tarry 3427 z8798 here, x6311 I pray thee; x4994 for x3588 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 hath sent 7971 z8804 me to Yærîçô יְרִיחוֹ. 3405 And he said, 559 z8799 [As] Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 liveth, 2416 and [as] thy soul 5315 liveth, 2416 I will not x518 leave 5800 z8799 thee. וַיִּגְּשׁוּ בְנֵי־הַנְּבִיאִים אֲשֶׁר־בִּירִיחוֹ אֶל־אֱלִישָׁע וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו הֲיָדַעְתָּ כִּי הַיּוֹם יְהוָה לֹקֵחַ אֶת־אֲדֹנֶיךָ מֵעַל רֹאשֶׁךָ וַיֹּאמֶר גַּם־אֲנִי יָדַעְתִּי הֶחֱשׁוּ

וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ אֵלִיָּהוּ שֵׁב־נָא פֹה כִּי יְהוָה שְׁלָחַנִי הַיַּרְדֵּנָה וַיֹּאמֶר חַי־יְהוָה וְחֵי־נַפְשְׁךָ אִם־אֶעֶזְבֶךָּ וַיֵּלְכוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם

 2:6 And ´Ëliyyà אֵלִיָּה 452 said 559 z8799 unto him, Tarry, 3427 z8798 I pray thee, x4994 here; x6311 for x3588 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 hath sent 7971 z8804 me to Yardën יַרדֵּן. 3383 And he said, 559 z8799 [As] Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 liveth, 2416 and [as] thy soul 5315 liveth, 2416 I will not x518 leave 5800 z8799 thee. וַחֲמִשִּׁים אִישׁ מִבְּנֵי הַנְּבִיאִים הָלְכוּ וַיַּעַמְדוּ מִנֶּגֶד מֵרָחוֹק וּשְׁנֵיהֶם עָמְדוּ עַל־הַיַּרְדֵּן

 2:7 wachámiSHiym iysh miB'nëy haN'viyiym häl'khû waYaam'dû miNeged mërächôq ûsh'nëyhem äm'dû al-haYar'Dën

וַיִּקַּח אֵלִיָּהוּ אֶת־אַדַּרְתּוֹ וַיִּגְלֹם וַיַּכֶּה אֶת־הַמַּיִם וַיֵּחָצוּ הֵנָּה וָהֵנָּה וַיַּעַבְרוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם בֶּחָרָבָה

וַיְהִי כְעָבְרָם וְאֵלִיָּהוּ אָמַר אֶל־אֱלִישָׁע שְׁאַל מָה אֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּךְ בְּטֶרֶם אֶלָּקַח מֵעִמָּךְ וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלִישָׁע וִיהִי־נָא פִּי־שְׁנַיִם בְּרוּחֲךָ אֵלָי

 2:9 ¶ And it came to pass, x1961 when they were gone over, 5674 z8800 that ´Ëliyyà אֵלִיָּה 452 said 559 z8804 unto x413 ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע, 477 Ask 7592 z8798 what x4100 I shall do 6213 z8799 for thee, before x2962 I be taken away 3947 z8735 from x4480 x5973 thee. And ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע 477 said, 559 z8799 I pray thee, x4994 let a double 8147 portion 6310 of thy spirit 7307 be x1961 upon x413 me.

וַיֹּאמֶר הִקְשִׁיתָ לִשְׁאוֹל אִם־תִּרְאֶה אֹתִי לֻקָּח מֵאִתָּךְ יְהִי־לְךָ כֵן וְאִם־אַיִן לֹא יִהְיֶה

 2:10 waYomer hiq'shiytä lish'ôl im-Tir'eh otiy luQäch mëiTäkh' y'hiy-l'khä khën w'im-ayin lo yih'yeh

 2:10 And he said, 559 z8799 Thou hast asked 7592 z8800 a hard thing: 7185 z8689 [nevertheless], if x518 thou see 7200 z8799 me [when I am] taken 3947 z8795 from x4480 x854 thee, it shall be x1961 so x3651 unto thee; but if x518 not, x369 it shall not x3808 be x1961 [so].

וַיְהִי הֵמָּה הֹלְכִים הָלוֹךְ וְדַבֵּר וְהִנֵּה רֶכֶב־אֵשׁ וְסוּסֵי אֵשׁ וַיַּפְרִדוּ בֵּין שְׁנֵיהֶם וַיַּעַל אֵלִיָּהוּ בַּסְּעָרָה הַשָּׁמָיִם

 2:12 ¶ And ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע 477 saw 7200 z8802 [it], and he x1931 cried, 6817 z8764 My father, 1 my father, 1 the chariot 7393 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל, 3478 and the horsemen 6571 thereof. וַיָּרֶם אֶת־אַדֶּרֶת אֵלִיָּהוּ אֲשֶׁר נָפְלָה מֵעָלָיו וַיָּשָׁב וַיַּעֲמֹד עַל־שְׂפַת הַיַּרְדֵּן

וַיִּקַּח אֶת־אַדֶּרֶת אֵלִיָּהוּ אֲשֶׁר־נָפְלָה מֵעָלָיו וַיַּכֶּה אֶת־הַמַּיִם וַיֹּאמַר אַיֵּה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֵלִיָּהוּ אַף־הוּא וַיַּכֶּה אֶת־הַמַּיִם וַיֵּחָצוּ הֵנָּה וָהֵנָּה וַיַּעֲבֹר אֱלִישָׁע

 2:14 And he took 3947 z8799 x853 the mantle 155 of ´Ëliyyà אֵלִיָּה 452 that x834 fell 5307 z8804 from x4480 x5921 him, and smote 5221 z8686 x853 the waters, 4325 and said, 559 z8799 Where x346 [is] Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 of ´Ëliyyà אֵלִיָּה? 452 and when he x1931 also x637 had smitten 5221 z8686 x853 the waters, 4325 they parted 2673 z8735 hither x2008 and thither: x2008 and ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע 477 went over. 5674 z8799

וַיִּרְאֻהוּ בְנֵי־הַנְּבִיאִים אֲשֶׁר־בִּירִיחוֹ מִנֶּגֶד וַיֹּאמְרוּ נָחָה רוּחַ אֵלִיָּהוּ עַל־אֱלִישָׁע וַיָּבֹאוּ לִקְרָאתוֹ וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ־לוֹ אָרְצָה

 2:15 And when the sons 1121 of the prophets 5030 which x834 [were] to view x4480 x5048 at Yærîçô יְרִיחוֹ 3405 saw 7200 z8799 him, they said, 559 z8799 The spirit 7307 of ´Ëliyyà אֵלִיָּה 452 doth rest 5117 z8804 on x5921 ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע. 477 And they came 935 z8799 to meet 7125 z8800 him, and bowed y7812 z8691 themselves x7812 to the ground 776 before him.

 2:16 ¶ And they said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, Behold x2009 now, x4994 there be 3426 with x854 thy servants 5650 fifty 2572 strong 2428 x1121 men; y1121 y582 x376 let them go, y3212 z8799 x1980 we pray thee, x4994 and seek 1245 z8762 x853 thy ´áđôn אֲדוֹן: 113 lest peradventure x6435 the Spirit 7307 of Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 hath taken him up, 5375 z8804 and cast 7993 z8686 him upon some 259 mountain, 2022 or x176 into some 259 valley. 1516 And he said, 559 z8799 Ye shall not x3808 send. 7971 z8799

וַיִּפְצְרוּ־בוֹ עַד־בֹּשׁ וַיֹּאמֶר שְׁלָחוּ וַיִּשְׁלְחוּ חֲמִשִּׁים אִישׁ וַיְבַקְשׁוּ שְׁלֹשָׁה־יָמִים וְלֹא מְצָאֻהוּ

וַיָּשֻׁבוּ אֵלָיו וְהוּא יֹשֵׁב בִּירִיחוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם הֲלוֹא־אָמַרְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶם אַל־תֵּלֵכוּ

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אַנְשֵׁי הָעִיר אֶל־אֱלִישָׁע הִנֵּה־נָא מוֹשַׁב הָעִיר טוֹב כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲדֹנִי רֹאֶה וְהַמַּיִם רָעִים וְהָאָרֶץ מְשַׁכָּלֶת

 2:19 ¶ And the men y582 x376 of the city 5892 said 559 z8799 unto x413 ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע, 477 Behold, x2009 I pray thee, x4994 the situation 4186 of this city 5892 [is] pleasant, 2896 as x834 my ´áđôn אֲדוֹן 113 seeth: 7200 z8802 but the water 4325 [is] naught, 7451 and the ground 776 barren. 7921 z8764

וַיֹּאמֶר קְחוּ־לִי צְלֹחִית חֲדָשָׁה וְשִׂימוּ שָׁם מֶלַח וַיִּקְחוּ אֵלָיו

 2:20 waYomer q'chû-liy tz'lochiyt chádäshäh w'siymû shäm melach waYiq'chû ëläyw

 2:20 And he said, 559 z8799 Bring 3947 z8798 me a new 2319 cruse, 6746 and put 7760 z8798 salt 4417 therein. x8033 And they brought 3947 z8799 [it] to x413 him.

וַיֵּצֵא אֶל־מוֹצָא הַמַּיִם וַיַּשְׁלֶךְ־שָׁם מֶלַח וַיֹּאמֶר כֹּה־אָמַר יְהוָה רִפִּאתִי לַמַּיִם הָאֵלֶּה לֹא־יִהְיֶה מִשָּׁם עוֹד מָוֶת וּמְשַׁכָּלֶת

 2:21 waYëtzë el-môtzä haMayim waYash'lekh'-shäm melach waYomer Koh-ämar y'hwäh riPitiy laMayim häëLeh lo-yih'yeh miSHäm ôd mäwet ûm'shaKälet

 2:21 And he went forth 3318 z8799 unto x413 the spring 4161 of the waters, 4325 and cast 7993 z8686 the salt 4417 in there, x8033 and said, 559 z8799 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 I have healed 7495 z8765 these x428 waters; 4325 there shall not x3808 be x1961 from thence x4480 x8033 any more x5750 death 4194 or barren 7921 z8764 [land].

וַיֵּרָפוּ הַמַּיִם עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה כִּדְבַר אֱלִישָׁע אֲשֶׁר דִּבֵּר פ

 2:22 So the waters 4325 were healed 7495 z8735 unto x5704 this x2088 day, 3117 according to the saying 1697 of ´Élîšä` אֱלִישָׁע 477 which x834 he spake. 1696 z8765

וַיַּעַל מִשָּׁם בֵּית־אֵל וְהוּא עֹלֶה בַדֶּרֶךְ וּנְעָרִים קְטַנִּים יָצְאוּ מִן־הָעִיר וַיִּתְקַלְּסוּ־בוֹ וַיֹּאמְרוּ לוֹ עֲלֵה קֵרֵחַ עֲלֵה קֵרֵחַ

 2:23 ¶ And he went up 5927 z8799 from thence x4480 x8033 unto Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל: 1008 and as he x1931 was going up 5927 z8802 by the way, 1870 there came forth 3318 z8804 little 6996 children 5288 out of x4480 the city, 5892 and mocked 7046 z8691 him, and said 559 z8799 unto him, Go up, 5927 z8798 thou bald head; 7142 go up, 5927 z8798 thou bald head. 7142
