Jeremiah 7

1 Jeremiah is sent to call for true repentance, to prevent the Jews' captivity. 8 He rejecteth their vain confidence, 12 by the example of Shiloh. 17 He threateneth them for their idolatry. 21 He rejecteth the sacrifices of the disobedient. 29 He exhorteth to mourn for their abominations in Tophet, 32 and the judgments for the same.

 7:1 The word 1697 that came 1961 to Jeremiah 3414 from the LORD 3068, saying 559,

 7:2 “Stand 5975 in the gate 8179 of the LORD’S 3068 house 1004 and proclaim 7121 there 8033 this 2088 word 1697 and say 559, ‘Hear 8085 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068, all 3605 you of Judah 3063, who enter 935 by these 428 gates 8179 to worship 7812 the LORD 3068!’”

 7:3 Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, the God 430 of Israel 3478, “Amend 3190 your ways 1870 and your deeds 4611, and I will let you dwell 7931 in this 2088 place 4725.

 7:4 “Do not trust 982 in deceptive 8267 words 1697, saying 559, ‘This 1992a is the temple 1964 of the LORD 3068, the temple 1964 of the LORD 3068, the temple 1964 of the LORD 3068.’

 7:5 “For if 518 you truly 3190 amend 3190 your ways 1870 and your deeds 4611, if 518 you truly 6213a practice 6213a justice 4941 between 996 a man 376 and his neighbor 7453,

 7:6 [if] you do not oppress 6231 the alien 1616, the orphan 3490, or the widow 490, and do not shed 8210 innocent 5355a blood 1818 in this 2088 place 4725, nor 3808 walk 1980 after 310 other 312 gods 430 to your own ruin 7451b,

 7:7 then I will let you dwell 7931 in this 2088 place 4725, in the land 776 that I gave 5414 to your fathers 1 forever 4480 5769 and ever 5769.

 7:8 ¶ “Behold 2009, you are trusting 982 in deceptive 8267 words 1697 to no 1115 avail 3276.

 7:9 “Will you steal 1589, murder 7523, and commit 5003 adultery 5003 and swear 7650 falsely 8267, and offer 6999 sacrifices 6999 to Baal 1168a and walk 1980 after 310 other 312 gods 430 that you have not known 3045,

 7:10 then come 935 and stand 5975 before 6440 Me in this 2088 house 1004, which 834 is called 7121 by My name 8034, and say 559, ‘We are delivered 5337!’—that you may do 6213a all 3605 these 428 abominations 8441?

 7:11 “Has this 2088 house 1004, which 834 is called 7121 by My name 8034, become 1961 a den 4631 of robbers 6530 in your sight 5869? Behold 2009, I, even 1571 I, have seen 7200 [it],” declares 5002 the LORD 3068.

 7:12 ¶ “But go 1980 now 4994 to My place 4725 which 834 was in Shiloh 7887, where 834 8033 I made My name 8034 dwell 7931 at the first 7223, and see 7200 what 834 I did 6213a to it because 4480 6440 of the wickedness 7463a of My people 5971a Israel 3478.

 7:13 “And now 6258, because 3282 you have done 6213a all 3605 these 428 things 4639,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “and I spoke 1696 to you, rising 7925 up early 7925 and speaking 1696, but you did not hear 8085, and I called 7121 you but you did not answer 6030a,

 7:14 therefore, I will do 6213a to the house 1004 which 834 is called 7121 by My name 8034, in which 834 you trust 982, and to the place 4725 which 834 I gave 5414 you and your fathers 1, as I did 6213a to Shiloh 7887.

 7:15 “I will cast 7993 you out of My sight 6440, as I have cast 7993 out all 3605 your brothers 251, all 3605 the offspring 2233 of Ephraim 669.

 7:16 ¶ “As for you, do not pray 6419 for this 2088 people 5971a, and do not lift 5375 up cry 7440 or prayer 8605 for them, and do not intercede 6293 with Me; for I do not hear 8085 you.

 7:17 “Do you not see 7200 what 4100 they are doing 6213a in the cities 5892b of Judah 3063 and in the streets 2351 of Jerusalem 3389?

 7:18 “The children 1121 gather 3950 wood 6086, and the fathers 1 kindle 1197a the fire 784, and the women 802 knead 3888 dough 1217 to make 6213a cakes 3561 for the queen 4446 of heaven 8064; and [they] pour 5258a out drink 5262a offerings 5262a to other 312 gods 430 in order 4616 to spite 3707 Me.

 7:19 “Do they spite 3707 Me?” declares 5002 the LORD 3068. “Is it not themselves [they spite], to their own 6440 shame 1322 6440?”

 7:20 Therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Behold 2009, My anger 639 and My wrath 2534 will be poured 5413 out on this 2088 place 4725, on man 120 and on beast 929 and on the trees 6086 of the field 7704 and on the fruit 6529 of the ground 127; and it will burn 1197a and not be quenched 3518.”

 7:21 ¶ Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, the God 430 of Israel 3478, “Add 3254 your burnt 5930a offerings 5930a to your sacrifices 2077 and eat 398 flesh 1320.

 7:22 “For I did not speak 1696 to your fathers 1, or command 6680 them in the day 3117 that I brought 3318 them out of the land 776 of Egypt 4714, concerning 5921 1697 burnt 5930a offerings 5930a and sacrifices 2077.

 7:23 “But this 2088 is what 1697 I commanded 6680 them, saying 559, ‘Obey 8085 My voice 6963, and I will be your God 430, and you will be My people 5971a; and you will walk 1980 in all 3605 the way 1870 which 834 I command 6680 you, that it may be well 3190 with you.’

 7:24 “Yet they did not obey 8085 or incline 5186 their ear 241, but walked 1980 in [their own] counsels 4156 [and] in the stubbornness 8307 of their evil 7451a heart 3820, and went 1961 backward 268 and not forward 6440.

 7:25 “Since 4480 the day 3117 that your fathers 1 came 3318 out of the land 776 of Egypt 4714 until 5704 this 2088 day 3117, I have sent 7971 you all 3605 My servants 5650 the prophets 5030, daily 3117 rising 7925 early 7925 and sending 7971 [them].

 7:26 “Yet they did not listen 8085 to Me or incline 5186 their ear 241, but stiffened 7185 their neck 6203; they did more 4480 evil 7489a than 4480 their fathers 1.

 7:27 ¶ “You shall speak 1696 all 3605 these 428 words 1697 to them, but they will not listen 8085 to you; and you shall call 7121 to them, but they will not answer 6030a you.

 7:28 “You shall say 559 to them, ‘This 2088 is the nation 1471 that did not obey 8085 the voice 6963 of the LORD 3068 their God 430 or accept 3947 correction 4148; truth 530 has perished 6 and has been cut 3772 off 3772 from their mouth 6310.

 7:29 ‘Cut 1494 off 1494 your hair 5145 and cast 7993 [it] away 7993, And take 5375 up a lamentation 7015 on the bare 8205 heights 8205; For the LORD 3068 has rejected 3988a and forsaken 5203 The generation 1755 of His wrath 5678.’

 7:30 “For the sons 1121 of Judah 3063 have done 6213a that which 7451a is evil 7451a in My sight 5869,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “they have set 7760 their detestable 8251 things 8251 in the house 1004 which 834 is called 7121 by My name 8034, to defile 2930 it.

 7:31 “They have built 1129 the high 1116 places 1116 of Topheth 8612, which 834 is in the valley 1516 of the son 1121 of Hinnom 2011, to burn 8313 their sons 1121 and their daughters 1323 in the fire 784, which 834 I did not command 6680, and it did not come 5927 into My mind 3820.

 7:32 ¶ “Therefore 3651, behold 2009, days 3117 are coming 935,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “when it will no 3808 longer 5750 be called 559 Topheth 8612, or the valley 1516 of the son 1121 of Hinnom 2011, but the valley 1516 of the Slaughter 2028; for they will bury 6912 in Topheth 8612 because 4480 there 369 is no 369 [other] place 4725.

 7:33 “The dead 5038 bodies 5038 of this 2088 people 5971a will be food 3978 for the birds 5775 of the sky 8064 and for the beasts 929 of the earth 776; and no 369 one 369 will frighten 2729 [them away].

 7:34 “Then I will make to cease 7673a from the cities 5892b of Judah 3063 and from the streets 2351 of Jerusalem 3389 the voice 6963 of joy 8342 and the voice 6963 of gladness 8057, the voice 6963 of the bridegroom 2860a and the voice 6963 of the bride 3618; for the land 776 will become 1961 a ruin 2723.
