Jeremiah 24

1 Under the type of good and bad figs, 4 he foresheweth the restoration of them that were in captivity, 8 and the desolation of Zedekiah and the rest.

 24:1 After 310 Nebuchadnezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894 had carried 1540 away 1540 captive 1540 Jeconiah 3204 the son 1121 of Jehoiakim 3079, king 4428 of Judah 3063, and the officials 8269 of Judah 3063 with the craftsmen 2796 and smiths 4525 from Jerusalem 3389 and had brought 935 them to Babylon 894, the LORD 3068 showed 7200 me: behold 2009, two 8147 baskets 1731 of figs 8384 set 3259 before 6440 the temple 1964 of the LORD 3068!

 24:2 One 259 basket 1731 had very 3966 good 2896a figs 8384, like first-ripe 1063 figs 8384, and the other 259 basket 1731 had very 3966 bad 7451a figs 8384 which 834 could not be eaten 398 due 4480 to rottenness 7455.

 24:3 Then the LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “What 4100 do you see 7200, Jeremiah 3414?” And I said 559, “Figs 8384, the good 2896a figs 8384, very 3966 good 2896a; and the bad 7451a [figs], very 3966 bad 7451a, which 834 cannot 3808 be eaten 398 due 4480 to rottenness 7455.”

 24:4 ¶ Then the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 24:5 “Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478, ‘Like these 428 good 2896a figs 8384, so 3651 I will regard 5234 as good 2899b the captives 1546 of Judah 3063, whom 834 I have sent 7971 out of this 2088 place 4725 [into] the land 776 of the Chaldeans 3778.

 24:6 ‘For I will set 7760 My eyes 5869 on them for good 2899b, and I will bring 7725 them again 7725 to this 384 land 776; and I will build 1129 them up and not overthrow 2040 them, and I will plant 5193 them and not pluck 5428 them up.

 24:7 ‘I will give 5414 them a heart 3820 to know 3045 Me, for I am the LORD 3068; and they will be My people 5971a, and I will be their God 430, for they will return 7725 to Me with their whole 3605 heart 3820.

 24:8 ¶ ‘But like the bad 7451a figs 8384 which 834 cannot 3808 be eaten 398 due 4480 to rottenness 7455—indeed 3588, thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068—so 3651 I will abandon 5414 Zedekiah 6667 king 4428 of Judah 3063 and his officials 8269, and the remnant 7611 of Jerusalem 3389 who remain 7604 in this 384 land 776 and the ones who dwell 3427 in the land 776 of Egypt 4714.

 24:9 ‘I will make 5414 them a terror 2113 [and an] evil 7463a for all 3605 the kingdoms 4467 of the earth 776, as a reproach 2781 and a proverb 4912, a taunt 8148 and a curse 7045 in all 3605 places 4725 where 834 8033 I will scatter 5080 them.

 24:10 ‘I will send 7971 the sword 2719, the famine 7458 and the pestilence 1698 upon them until 5704 they are destroyed 8552 from the land 127 which 834 I gave 5414 to them and their forefathers 1.’”
