Jeremiah 11

1 Jeremiah proclaimeth God's Covenant, 8 rebuketh the Jews disobeying thereof, 11 prophesieth evils to come upon them, 18 and upon the men of Anathoth, for conspiring to kill Jeremiah.

 11:1 The word 1697 which 834 came 1961 to Jeremiah 3414 from the LORD 3068, saying 559,

 11:2 “Hear 8085 the words 1697 of this 384 covenant 1285, and speak 1696 to the men 376 of Judah 3063 and to the inhabitants 3427 of Jerusalem 3389;

 11:3 and say 559 to them, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, the God 430 of Israel 3478, “Cursed 779 is the man 376 who 834 does not heed 8085 the words 1697 of this 384 covenant 1285

 11:4 which 834 I commanded 6680 your forefathers 1 in the day 3117 that I brought 3318 them out of the land 776 of Egypt 4714, from the iron 1270 furnace 3564a, saying 559, ‘Listen 8085 to My voice 6963, and do 6213a according to all 3605 which 834 I command 6680 you; so you shall be My people 5971a, and I will be your God 430,’

 11:5 in order 4616 to confirm 6965 the oath 7621 which 834 I swore 7650 to your forefathers 1, to give 5414 them a land 776 flowing 2100 with milk 2461 and honey 1706, as [it is] this 2088 day 3117.”’” Then I said 559, “Amen 543, O LORD 3068.”

 11:6 ¶ And the LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “Proclaim 7121 all 3605 these 428 words 1697 in the cities 5892b of Judah 3063 and in the streets 2351 of Jerusalem 3389, saying 559, ‘Hear 8085 the words 1697 of this 384 covenant 1285 and do 6213a them.

 11:7 ‘For I solemnly 5749b warned 5749b your fathers 1 in the day 3117 that I brought 5927 them up from the land 776 of Egypt 4714, even to this 2088 day 3117, warning 5749b persistently 7925, saying 559, “Listen 8085 to My voice 6963.”

 11:8 ‘Yet they did 6213a not obey 8085 or incline 5186 their ear 241, but walked 1980, each 376 one 376, in the stubbornness 8307 of his evil 7451a heart 3820; therefore I brought 935 on them all 3605 the words 1697 of this 384 covenant 1285, which 834 I commanded 6680 [them] to do 6213a, but they did 6213a not.’”

 11:9 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “A conspiracy 7195 has been found 4672 among the men 376 of Judah 3063 and among the inhabitants 3427 of Jerusalem 3389.

 11:10 “They have turned 7725 back 7725 to the iniquities 5771 of their ancestors 7223 who 834 refused 3985 to hear 8085 My words 1697, and they have gone 1980 after 310 other 312 gods 430 to serve 5647 them; the house 1004 of Israel 3478 and the house 1004 of Judah 3063 have broken 6565a My covenant 1285 which 834 I made 3772 with their fathers 1.”

 11:11 Therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, “Behold 2009 I am bringing 935 disaster 7463a on them which 834 they will not be able 3201 to escape 3318; though they will cry 2199 to Me, yet I will not listen 8085 to them.

 11:12 “Then the cities 5892b of Judah 3063 and the inhabitants 3427 of Jerusalem 3389 will go 1980 and cry 2199 to the gods 430 to whom 834 they burn 6999 incense 6999, but they surely 3467 will not save 3467 them in the time 6256 of their disaster 7463a.

 11:13 “For your gods 430 are as many 4557 as your cities 5892b, O Judah 3063; and as many 4557 as the streets 2351 of Jerusalem 3389 are the altars 4196 you have set 7760 up to the shameful 1322 thing 1322, altars 4196 to burn 6999 incense 6999 to Baal 1168a.

 11:14 ¶ “Therefore do not pray 6419 for this 384 people 5971a, nor 408 lift 5375 up a cry 7440 or prayer 8605 for them; for I will not listen 8085 when 6256 they call 7121 to Me because 1157 of their disaster 7463a.

 11:15 “What 4100 right has My beloved 3039 in My house 1004 When 3588 she has done 6213a many 7227a vile 4209 deeds 4209? Can the sacrificial 6944 flesh 1320 take 5674a away 5674a from you your disaster 7463a, So 227 [that] you can rejoice 5937?”

 11:16 The LORD 3068 called 7121 your name 8034, “A green 7488 olive 2132 tree 2132, beautiful 3303 in fruit 6529 and form 8389”; With the noise 6963 of a great 1419 tumult 1999 He has kindled 3341 fire 784 on it, And its branches 1808 are worthless 7489b.

 11:17 The LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, who planted 5193 you, has pronounced 1696 evil 7463a against 5921 you because 1558 of the evil 7463a of the house 1004 of Israel 3478 and of the house 1004 of Judah 3063, which 834 they have done 6213a to provoke 3707 Me by offering 6999 up sacrifices 6999 to Baal 1168a.

 11:18 ¶ Moreover, the LORD 3068 made 3045 it known 3045 to me and I knew 3045 it; Then 227 You showed 7200 me their deeds 4611.

 11:19 But I was like a gentle 441a lamb 3532 led 2986 to the slaughter 2873; And I did not know 3045 that they had devised 2803 plots 4284 against 5921 me, [saying], “Let us destroy 7843 the tree 6086 with its fruit 3899, And let us cut 3772 him off 3772 from the land 776 of the living 2416a, That his name 8034 be remembered 2142 no 3808 more 5750.”

 11:20 But, O LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, who judges 8199 righteously 6664, Who tries 974 the feelings 3629 and the heart 3820, Let me see 7200 Your vengeance 5360 on them, For to You have I committed 1540 my cause 7379.

 11:21 ¶ Therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 concerning 5921 the men 376 of Anathoth 6068, who seek 1245 your life 5315, saying 559, “Do not prophesy 5012 in the name 8034 of the LORD 3068, so 3808 that you will not die 4191 at our hand 3027”;

 11:22 therefore 3651, thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, “Behold 2009, I am about to punish 6485 them! The young 970 men 970 will die 4191 by the sword 2719, their sons 1121 and daughters 1323 will die 4191 by famine 7458;

 11:23 and a remnant 7611 will not be left 1961 to them, for I will bring 935 disaster 7463a on the men 376 of Anathoth 6068—the year 8141 of their punishment 6486.”
