Exodus 40

1 The Tabernacle is commanded to be reared, 9 and anointed. 13 Aaron and his sons to be sanctified. 16 Moses performeth all things accordingly. 34 A cloud covereth the Tabernacle.

 40:1 Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 40:2 “On the first 7223 day 3117 of the first 259 month 2320 you shall set 6965 up the tabernacle 4908 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 40:3 “You shall place 7760 the ark 727 of the testimony 5715 there 8033, and you shall screen 5526a the ark 727 with the veil 6532.

 40:4 “You shall bring 935 in the table 7979 and arrange 6186a what 6187 belongs 6187 on it; and you shall bring 935 in the lampstand 4501 and mount 5927 its lamps 5216.

 40:5 “Moreover, you shall set 5414 the gold 2091 altar 4196 of incense 7004 before 6440 the ark 727 of the testimony 5715, and set 7760 up the veil 4539 for the doorway 6607 to the tabernacle 4908.

 40:6 “You shall set 5414 the altar 4196 of burnt 5930a offering 5930a in front 6440 of the doorway 6607 of the tabernacle 4908 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 40:7 “You shall set 5414 the laver 3595 between 996 the tent 168 of meeting 4150 and the altar 4196 and put 5414 water 4325 in it.

 40:8 “You shall set 7760 up the court 2691a all 5439 around 5439 and hang 5414 up the veil 4539 for the gateway 8179 of the court 2691a.

 40:9 “Then you shall take 3947 the anointing 4888b oil 8081 and anoint 4886 the tabernacle 4908 and all 3605 that is in it, and shall consecrate 6942 it and all 3605 its furnishings 3627; and it shall be holy 6944.

 40:10 “You shall anoint 4886 the altar 4196 of burnt 5930a offering 5930a and all 3605 its utensils 3627, and consecrate 6942 the altar 4196, and the altar 4196 shall be most 6944 holy 6944.

 40:11 “You shall anoint 4886 the laver 3595 and its stand 3653b, and consecrate 6942 it.

 40:12 “Then you shall bring 7126 Aaron 175 and his sons 1121 to the doorway 6607 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150 and wash 7364 them with water 4325.

 40:13 “You shall put 3847 the holy 6944 garments 899b on Aaron 175 and anoint 4886 him and consecrate 6942 him, that he may minister 3547 as a priest 3547 to Me.

 40:14 “You shall bring 7126 his sons 1121 and put 3847 tunics 3801 on them;

 40:15 and you shall anoint 4886 them even 3512c as you have anointed 4886 their father 1, that they may minister 3547 as priests 3547 to Me; and their anointing 4888b will qualify 1961 them for a perpetual 5769 priesthood 3550 throughout their generations 1755.”

 40:16 Thus Moses 4872 did 6213a; according to all 3605 that the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 him, so 3651 he did 6213a.

 40:17 ¶ Now in the first 7223 month 2320 of the second 8145 year 8141, on the first 259 [day] of the month 2320, the tabernacle 4908 was erected 6965.

 40:18 Moses 4872 erected 6965 the tabernacle 4908 and laid 5414 its sockets 134, and set 7760 up its boards 7175b, and inserted 5414 its bars 1280 and erected 6965 its pillars 5982.

 40:19 He spread 6566 the tent 168 over 5921 the tabernacle 4908 and put 7760 the covering 4372 of the tent 168 on top 4605 of it, just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.

 40:20 Then he took 3947 the testimony 5715 and put 5414 [it] into the ark 727, and attached 7760 the poles 905 to the ark 727, and put 5414 the mercy 3727 seat 3727 on top 4605 of the ark 727.

 40:21 He brought 935 the ark 727 into the tabernacle 4908, and set 7760 up a veil 6532 for the screen 4539, and screened 5526a off 5526a the ark 727 of the testimony 5715, just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.

 40:22 Then he put 5414 the table 7979 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150 on the north 6828 side 3409 of the tabernacle 4908, outside 4480 2351 the veil 6532.

 40:23 He set 6186a the arrangement 6187 of bread 3899 in order 6186a on it before 6440 the LORD 3068, just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.

 40:24 Then he placed 7760 the lampstand 4501 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150, opposite 5227 the table 7979, on the south 5045 side 3409 of the tabernacle 4908.

 40:25 He lighted 5927 the lamps 5216 before 6440 the LORD 3068, just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.

 40:26 Then he placed 7760 the gold 2091 altar 4196 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150 in front 6440 of the veil 6532;

 40:27 and he burned 6999 fragrant 5561 incense 7004 on it, just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.

 40:28 Then he set 7760 up the veil 4539 for the doorway 6607 of the tabernacle 4908.

 40:29 He set 7760 the altar 4196 of burnt 5930a offering 5930a [before] the doorway 6607 of the tabernacle 4908 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150, and offered 5927 on it the burnt 5930a offering 5930a and the meal 4503 offering 4503, just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.

 40:30 He placed 7760 the laver 3595 between 996 the tent 168 of meeting 4150 and the altar 4196 and put 5414 water 4325 in it for washing 7364.

 40:31 From it Moses 4872 and Aaron 175 and his sons 1121 washed 7364 their hands 3027 and their feet 7272.

 40:32 When they entered 935 the tent 168 of meeting 4150, and when they approached 7126 the altar 4196, they washed 7364, just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.

 40:33 He erected 6965 the court 2691a all 5439 around 5439 the tabernacle 4908 and the altar 4196, and hung 5414 up the veil 4539 for the gateway 8179 of the court 2691a. Thus Moses 4872 finished 3615 the work 4399.

 40:34 ¶ Then the cloud 6051 covered 3680 the tent 168 of meeting 4150, and the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 filled 4390 the tabernacle 4908.

 40:35 Moses 4872 was not able 3201 to enter 935 the tent 168 of meeting 4150 because 3588 the cloud 6051 had settled 7931 on it, and the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 filled 4390 the tabernacle 4908.

 40:36 Throughout all 3605 their journeys 4550 whenever the cloud 6051 was taken 5927 up from over 5921 the tabernacle 4908, the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 would set 5265 out;

 40:37 but if 518 the cloud 6051 was not taken 5927 up, then they did not set 5265 out until 5704 the day 3117 when it was taken 5927 up.

 40:38 For throughout all 3605 their journeys 4550, the cloud 6051 of the LORD 3068 was on the tabernacle 4908 by day 3119, and there was fire 784 in it by night 3915, in the sight 5869 of all 3605 the house 1004 of Israel 3478.
