Exodus 23

1 Of slander and false witness. 3, 6 Of justice. 4 Of charitableness. 10 Of the year of rest. 12 Of the Sabbath. 13 Of idolatry. 14 Of the three feasts. 18 Of the blood and the fat of the sacrifice. 20 An angel is promised, with a blessing, if they obey him.

 23:1 “You shall not bear 5375 a false 7723 report 8088; do not join 7896 your hand 3027 with a wicked 7563 man 7563 to be a malicious 2555 witness 5707.

 23:2 “You shall not follow 1961 310 the masses 7227a in doing evil 7463a, nor 3808 shall you testify 6030a in a dispute 7379 so as to turn 5186 aside 5186 after 310 a multitude 7227a in order to pervert 5186 [justice];

 23:3 nor 3808 shall you be partial 1921 to a poor 1800b man 1800b in his dispute 7379.

 23:4 ¶ “If 3588 you meet 6293 your enemy’s 340 ox 7794 or 176 his donkey 2543 wandering 8582 away 8582, you shall surely 7725 return 7725 it to him.

 23:5 “If 3588 you see 7200 the donkey 2543 of one who hates 8130 you lying 7257 [helpless] under 8478 its load 4853a, you shall refrain 2308 from leaving 5800a it to him, you shall surely 5800a release 5800a [it] with him.

 23:6 ¶ “You shall not pervert 5186 the justice 4941 [due] to your needy 34 [brother] in his dispute 7379.

 23:7 “Keep 7368 far 7368 from a false 8267 charge 1697, and do not kill 2026 the innocent 5355a or the righteous 6662, for I will not acquit 6663 the guilty 7563.

 23:8 ¶ “You shall not take 3947 a bribe 7810, for a bribe 7810 blinds 5786 the clear-sighted 6493 and subverts 5557 the cause 1697 of the just 6662.

 23:9 ¶ “You shall not oppress 3905 a stranger 1616, since you yourselves 864b know 3045 the feelings 5315 of a stranger 1616, for you [also] were strangers 1616 in the land 776 of Egypt 4714.

 23:10 ¶ “You shall sow 2232 your land 776 for six 8337a years 8141 and gather 622 in its yield 8393,

 23:11 but [on] the seventh 7637 year 7637 you shall let 8058 it rest 8058 and lie 5203 fallow 5203, so that the needy 34 of your people 5971a may eat 398; and whatever they leave 3499a the beast 2421b of the field 7704 may eat 398. You are to do 6213a the same 3651 with your vineyard 3754 [and] your olive 2132 grove 2132.

 23:12 ¶ “Six 8337a days 3117 you are to do 6213a your work 4639, but on the seventh 7637 day 3117 you shall cease 7673a [from labor] so 4616 that your ox 7794 and your donkey 2543 may rest 5117, and the son 1121 of your female 519 slave 519, as well as your stranger 1616, may refresh 5314 themselves.

 23:13 “Now concerning everything 3605 which 834 I have said 559 to you, be on your guard 8104; and do not mention 2142 the name 8034 of other 312 gods 430, nor 3808 let [them] be heard 8085 from your mouth 6310.

 23:14 ¶ “Three 7969 times 7272 a year 8141 you shall celebrate 2287 a feast 2287 to Me.

 23:15 “You shall observe 8104 the Feast 2282 of Unleavened 4682 Bread 4682; for seven 7651 days 3117 you are to eat 398 unleavened 4682 bread 4682, as I commanded 6680 you, at the appointed 4150 time 4150 in the month 2320 Abib 24, for in it you came 3318 out of Egypt 4714. And none 3808 shall appear 7200 before 6440 Me empty-handed 7387.

 23:16 “Also [you shall observe] the Feast 2282 of the Harvest 7105a [of] the first 1061 fruits 1061 of your labors 4639 [from] what 834 you sow 2232 in the field 7704; also the Feast 2282 of the Ingathering 614 at the end 3318 of the year 8141 when you gather 622 in [the fruit of] your labors 4639 from the field 7704.

 23:17 “Three 7969 times 6471 a year 8141 all 3605 your males 2138 shall appear 7200 before 6440 the Lord 3068 GOD 3068.

 23:18 ¶ “You shall not offer 2076 the blood 1818 of My sacrifice 2077 with leavened 2557 bread 2557; nor 3808 is the fat 2459 of My feast 2282 to remain 3885a overnight 3885a until 5704 morning 1242.

 23:19 ¶ “You shall bring 935 the choice 7225 first 1061 fruits 1061 of your soil 127 into the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 your God 430. ¶ “You are not to boil 1310 a young 1423 goat 1423 in the milk 2461 of its mother 517.

 23:20 ¶ “Behold 2009, I am going to send 7971 an angel 4397 before 6440 you to guard 8104 you along the way 1870 and to bring 935 you into the place 4725 which 834 I have prepared 3559.

 23:21 “Be on your guard 8104 before 4480 6440 him and obey 8085 his voice 6963; do not be rebellious 4784 toward him, for he will not pardon 5375 your transgression 6588, since 3588 My name 8034 is in him.

 23:22 “But if 518 you truly 8085 obey 8085 his voice 6963 and do 6213a all 3605 that I say 1696, then I will be an enemy 340 to your enemies 340 and an adversary 6696b to your adversaries 6887c.

 23:23 “For My angel 4397 will go 1980 before 6440 you and bring 935 you in to [the land of] the Amorites 567, the Hittites 2850, the Perizzites 6522, the Canaanites 3669a, the Hivites 2340 and the Jebusites 2983; and I will completely 3582 destroy 3582 them.

 23:24 “You shall not worship 7812 their gods 430, nor 3808 serve 5647 them, nor 3808 do 6213a according to their deeds 4639; but you shall utterly 2040 overthrow 2040 them and break 7665 their [sacred] pillars 4676 in pieces 7665.

 23:25 “But you shall serve 5647 the LORD 3068 your God 430, and He will bless 1288 your bread 3899 and your water 4325; and I will remove 5493 sickness 4245a from your midst 7130.

 23:26 “There shall be no 3808 one miscarrying 7921 or barren 6135 in your land 776; I will fulfill 4390 the number 4557 of your days 3117.

 23:27 “I will send 7971 My terror 367 ahead 6440 of you, and throw 2000 into confusion 2000 all 3605 the people 5971a among whom 834 you come 935, and I will make 5414 all 3605 your enemies 340 turn 5414 [their] backs 6203 to you.

 23:28 “I will send 7971 hornets 6880 ahead 6440 of you so that they will drive 1644 out the Hivites 2340, the Canaanites 3669a, and the Hittites 2850 before 4480 6440 you.

 23:29 “I will not drive 1644 them out before 4480 you in a single 259 year 8141, that the land 776 may not become 1961 desolate 8077 and the beasts 2421b of the field 7704 become 7231 too 5921 numerous 7231 for you.

 23:30 “I will drive 1644 them out before 4480 you little 4592 by little 4592, until 5704 834 you become 6509 fruitful 6509 and take 5157 possession 5157 of the land 776.

 23:31 “I will fix 7896 your boundary 1366 from the Red 5488 3220 Sea 3220 to the sea 3220 of the Philistines 6430, and from the wilderness 4057b to the River 5104 [Euphrates]; for I will deliver 5414 the inhabitants 3427 of the land 776 into your hand 3027, and you will drive 1644 them out before 4480 you.

 23:32 “You shall make 3772 no 3808 covenant 1285 with them or with their gods 430.

 23:33 “They shall not live 3427 in your land 776, because 6435 they will make you sin 2398 against Me; for [if] you serve 5647 their gods 430, it will surely 3588 be a snare 4170 to you.”
