And it came to pass°

אֱלֹהִים°
did tempt°°°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
and said°°
unto°
him,
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם:°
and he said,°°
Behold,°
[here] I [am]. |

22:1 ¶
And it came to pass after these things, that Elohim did tempt Avraham, and said unto him, Avraham: and he said, Behold, [here] I [am]. |

And he said,°°
Take°
now°°°°
thy son,°°
thine only°
[son]°
Yixçäk
יִצחָק,°
whom°
thou lovest,°°
and get°
thee°°
into°
the land°
of
Môriyyà
מוֹרִיָּה;°
and offer°
him°°
there°
for a burnt offering°
upon°
one°
of the mountains°
which°
I will tell°°
thee of.° |

22:2
And he said, Take now thy son, thine only [son] Yitzchaq, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriyyah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. |

22:3 ¶
And

rose up early°°
in the morning,°
and saddled°°°
his ass,°
and took°°°
two°
of his young men°
with°
him, and
Yixçäk
יִצחָק°
his son,°
and clave°°
the wood°
for the burnt offering,°
and rose up,°°
and went°°°
unto°
the place°
of which°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
had told°°
him. |

22:3 ¶
And Avraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Yitzchaq his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which Elohim had told him. |

Then on the third°
day°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
lifted up°°°
his eyes,°
and saw°°°
the place°
afar off.°° |

Then on the third day Avraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. |
|
22:5
And
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
said°°
unto°
his young men,°
Abide°°
ye here°
with°
the ass;°
and I°
and the lad°
will go°°°
yonder°°
and worship,°°
and come again°°
to°
you. |

22:5
And Avraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. |

And

the wood°
of the burnt offering,°
and laid°°
[it] upon°
Yixçäk
יִצחָק°
his son;°
and he took°°°
the fire°
in his hand,°
and a knife;°
and they went°°°
both°
of them together.° |

And Avraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid [it] upon Yitzchaq his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. |

his father,°
and said,°°
My father:°
and he said,°°
Here°
[am] I, my son.°
And he said,°°
Behold°
the fire°
and the wood:°
but where°
[is] the lamb°
for a burnt offering?° |

And Yitzchaq spake unto Avraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here [am] I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where [is] the lamb for a burnt offering? |

And
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
said,°°
My son,°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
will provide°°
himself a lamb°
for a burnt offering:°
so they went°°°
both°
of them°
together.° |

22:8
And Avraham said, My son, Elohim will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. |
|
22:9
And they came°°
to°
the place°
which°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
had told°°
him of; and
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
built°°°
an altar°
there,°
and laid°°
the wood°
in order,°°°°
and bound°°°
Yixçäk
יִצחָק°
his son,°
and laid°°
him on°
the altar°
upon°°
the wood.° |

22:9
And they came to the place which Elohim had told him of; and Avraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Yitzchaq his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. |

22:10
And

stretched forth°°°
his hand,°
and took°°°
the knife°
to slay°°°
his son.° |

And Avraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. |

And the angel°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°

unto°
him out of°
heaven,°
and said,°°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם:°
and he said,°°
Here°
[am] I. |

And the angel of Yahweh called unto him out of heaven, and said, Avraham, Avraham: and he said, Here [am] I. |

And he said,°°
Lay°°
not°
thine hand°
upon°
the lad,°
neither°
do°
thou°°
any thing°
unto him: for°
now°
I know°°
that°
thou°
fearest°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
seeing thou hast not°
withheld°°°
thy son,°°
thine only°
[son] from°
me. |

22:12
And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest Elohim, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only [son] from me. |
|
22:13
And

lifted up°°°
his eyes,°
and looked,°°
and behold°
behind°
[him] a ram°
caught°°
in a thicket°
by his horns:°
and
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
went°°°
and took°°°
the ram,°
and offered him up°°
for a burnt offering°
in the stead°
of°
his son.° |

22:13
And Avraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind [him] a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Avraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. |
|
22:14
And

the name°
of that°
place°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה
Yir´è
יִראֶה:°
as°
it is said°°
[to] this day,°
In the mount°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
it shall be seen.°° |

And Avraham called the name of that place Yahweh Yireh: as it is said [to] this day, In the mount of Yahweh it shall be seen. |
|
22:15 ¶
And the angel°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
called°°
unto°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
out of°
heaven°
the second time,° |
|
22:15 ¶
And the angel of Yahweh called unto Avraham out of heaven the second time, |
|
22:16
And said,°°
By myself have I sworn,°°
saith°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
for°
because°°
thou hast done°°°
this°
thing,°
and hast not°
withheld°°°
thy son,°°
thine only°
[son]: |

22:16
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith Yahweh, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only [son]: |
|
22:17
That°
in blessing°°
I will bless°°
thee, and in multiplying°°
I will multiply°°°
thy seed°
as the stars°
of the heaven,°
and as the sand°
which°
[is] upon°
the sea°
shore;°
and thy seed°
shall possess°°°
the gate°
of his enemies;°° |

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which [is] upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; |

22:18
And in thy seed°
shall all°
the nations°
of the earth°
be blessed;°°
because°°
thou hast obeyed°°
my voice.° |

22:18
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. |

22:19

unto°
his young men,°
and they rose up°°
and went°°°
together°
to°
Bæ´ër Ševa`
בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע;°
and
´Avrähäm

dwelt°°
at
Bæ´ër Ševa`
בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע.° |

So Avraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-Sheva; and Avraham dwelt at Beer-Sheva. |

22:20 ¶
And it came to pass°
after°
these°
things,°
that it was told°°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
saying,°°
Behold,°
Milcà
מִלכָּה,°
she°
hath also°
born°°
children°
unto thy brother°
Näçôr
נָחוֹר;° |

22:20 ¶
And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Avraham, saying, Behold, Milkah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nachor; |

his firstborn,°
and

his brother,°
and

קְמוּאֵל°
the father°
of
´Áräm
אֲרָם,° |

Utz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Qemuel the father of Aram, |

And

And Kesed, and Chazo, and Pildash, and Yidlaf, and Bethuel. |

And

Rivkà
רִבקָה:°
these°
eight°
Milcà
מִלכָּה°
did bear°°
to
Näçôr
נָחוֹר,°
´Avrähäm's
אַברָהָם°
brother.° |

And Bethuel begat Rivqah: these eight Milkah did bear to Nachor, Avraham's brother. |

22:24
And his concubine,°
whose name°
[was]
Ræ´ûmà
רְאוּמָה,°
she°
bare°°
also°°
Ţevaç
טֶבַח,°
and
Gaçam
גַּחַם,°
and
Taçaš
תַּחַשׁ,°
and
Ma`áȼà
מַעֲכָה.° |

22:24
And his concubine, whose name [was] Reumah, she bare also Tevach, and Gacham, and Tachash, and Maakhah. |
