 35:1 ¶ And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° said°° unto° Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב,° Arise,°° go up°° to Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל,° and dwell°° there:° and make°° there° an altar° unto ´Ël אֵל,° that appeared°° unto° thee when thou fleddest°° from the face°° of `Ëŝäw עֵשָׂו° thy brother.°

 35:1 ¶ And Elohim said unto Yaaqov, Arise, go up to Beth-El, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto El, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esaw thy brother.

 35:2 Then Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° said°° unto° his household,° and to° all° that° [were] with° him, Put away°°° the strange° ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° that° [are] among° you,° and be clean,°° and change°° your garments:°

 35:2 Then Yaaqov said unto his household, and to all that [were] with him, Put away the strange elohim that [are] among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

 35:3 And let us arise,°° and go up°° to Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל;° and I will make°° there° an altar° unto ´Ël אֵל,° who answered°° me in the day° of my distress,° and was° with° me in the way° which° I went.°°

 35:3 And let us arise, and go up to Beth-El; and I will make there an altar unto El, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

 35:4 And they gave°° unto° Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב°° all° the strange° ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° which° [were] in their hand,° and [all their] earrings° which° [were] in their ears;° and Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° hid°° them under° the oak° which° [was] by° Šæȼem שְׁכֶם.°

 35:4 And they gave unto Yaaqov all the strange elohim which [were] in their hand, and [all their] earrings which [were] in their ears; and Yaaqov hid them under the oak which [was] by Shekhem.

 35:5 And they journeyed:°° and the terror° of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° was° upon° the cities° that° [were] round about° them, and they did not° pursue°° after° the sons° of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב.°

 35:5 And they journeyed: and the terror of Elohim was upon the cities that [were] round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Yaaqov.

 35:6 ¶ So Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° came°° to Lûz לוּז,° which° [is] in the land° of Cænä`an כְּנָעַן,° that° [is], Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל,° he° and all° the people° that° [were] with° him.

 35:6 ¶ So Yaaqov came to Luz, which [is] in the land of Kenaan, that [is], Beth-El, he and all the people that [were] with him.

 35:7 And he built°° there° an altar,° and called°° the place° ´Ël Bêŧ ´Ël אֵל־בֵּית־אֵל:° because° there° ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° appeared°° unto° him, when he fled°° from the face°° of his brother.°

 35:7 And he built there an altar, and called the place El-Beth-El: because there Elohim appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

 35:8 But Dævôrà דְּבוֹרָה° Rivkà's רִבקָה° nurse°° died,°° and she was buried°° beneath°° Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל° under° an oak:° and the name° of it was called°° ´Allôn Bäȼûŧ אַלּוֹן־בָּכוּת.°

 35:8 But Devorah Rivqah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-El under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-Bakhuth.

 35:9 ¶ And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° appeared°° unto° Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° again,° when he came°° out of Paddan ´Áräm פַּדַּן־אֲרָם,°° and blessed°° him.

 35:9 ¶ And Elohim appeared unto Yaaqov again, when he came out of Paddan-Aram, and blessed him.

 35:10 And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° said°° unto him, Thy name° [is] Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב:° thy name° shall not° be called°° any more° Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב,° but°° Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° shall be° thy name:° and he called°°° his name° Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.°

 35:10 And Elohim said unto him, Thy name [is] Yaaqov: thy name shall not be called any more Yaaqov, but Yisrael shall be thy name: and he called his name Yisrael.

 35:11 And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° said°° unto him, I° [am] ´Ël אֵל° Šadday שַׁדַּי:° be fruitful°° and multiply;°° a nation° and a company° of nations° shall be° of° thee, and kings° shall come°° out° of thy loins;°°

 35:11 And Elohim said unto him, I [am] El Shadday: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

 35:12 And the land° which° I gave°° ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם° and Yixçäk יִצחָק,° to thee I will give° it,°° and to thy seed° after° thee° will I give°°° the land.°

 35:12 And the land which I gave Avraham and Yitzchaq, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

 35:13 And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° went up°° from°° him in the place° where° he talked°° with° him.

 35:13 And Elohim went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

 35:14 And Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° set up°° a pillar° in the place° where° he talked°° with° him, [even] a pillar° of stone:° and he poured°° a drink offering° thereon,° and he poured°° oil° thereon.°

 35:14 And Yaaqov set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, [even] a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

 35:15 And Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° called°°° the name° of the place° where° ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° spake°° with° him, Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל.°

 35:15 And Yaaqov called the name of the place where Elohim spake with him, Beth-El.

 35:16 ¶ And they journeyed°° from Bêŧ ´Ël בֵּית־אֵל;°° and there was° but° a little° way°° to come°° to ´Efräŧ אֶפרָת:° and Räçël רָחֵל° travailed,°° and she had hard°° labour.°°

 35:16 ¶ And they journeyed from Beth-El; and there was but a little way to come to Efrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

 35:17 And it came to pass,° when she was in hard°° labour,°° that the midwife°° said°° unto her, Fear°° not;° thou shalt have this° son° also.°

 35:17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

 35:18 And it came to pass,° as her soul° was in departing,°° (for° she died)°° that she called°° his name° Ben ´Ônî בֶּן־אוֹנִי:° but his father° called°° him Binyämîn בִּניָמִין.°

 35:18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-Oni: but his father called him Binyamin.

 35:19 And Räçël רָחֵל° died,°° and was buried°° in the way° to ´Efräŧ אֶפרָת,° which° [is] Bêŧ Läçem בֵּית־לָחֶם.°

 35:19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Efrath, which [is] Beth-Lachem.

 35:20 And Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° set°° a pillar° upon° her grave:° that° [is] the pillar° of Räçël's רָחֵל° grave° unto° this day.°

 35:20 And Yaaqov set a pillar upon her grave: that [is] the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.

 35:21 ¶ And Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° journeyed,°° and spread°° his tent° beyond°° the tower° of `Ëđer עֵדֶר.°

 35:21 ¶ And Yisrael journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Eder.

 35:22 And it came to pass,° when Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° dwelt°° in that° land,° that Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן° went°°° and lay°° with°° Bilhà בִּלהָה° his father's° concubine:° and Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° heard°° [it]. Now the sons° of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° were° twelve:°°

 35:22 And it came to pass, when Yisrael dwelt in that land, that Reuven went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Yisrael heard [it]. Now the sons of Yaaqov were twelve:

 35:23 The sons° of Lë´à לֵאָה;° Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן,° Ya`áköv's יַעֲקֹב° firstborn,° and Šim`ôn שִׁמעוֹן,° and Lëwî לֵוִי,° and Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה,° and Yiŝŝäjȼär יִשָּׂשכָר,° and Zævûlûn זְבוּלוּן:°

 35:23 The sons of Leah; Reuven, Yaaqov's firstborn, and Shimon, and Lewi, and Yehudah, and Yissaskhar, and Zevulun:

 35:24 The sons° of Räçël רָחֵל;° Yôsëf יוֹסֵף,° and Binyämîn בִּניָמִין:°

 35:24 The sons of Rachel; Yosef, and Binyamin:

 35:25 And the sons° of Bilhà בִּלהָה,° Räçël's רָחֵל° handmaid;° Dän דָּן,° and Naftälî נַפתָּלִי:°

 35:25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naftali:

 35:26 And the sons° of Zilpà זִלפָּה,° Lë´à's לֵאָה° handmaid;° Gäđ גָּד,° and ´Äšër אָשֵׁר:° these° [are] the sons° of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב,° which° were born°° to him in Paddan ´Áräm פַּדַּן־אֲרָם.°

 35:26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these [are] the sons of Yaaqov, which were born to him in Paddan-Aram.

 35:27 ¶ And Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° came°° unto° Yixçäk יִצחָק° his father° unto Mamrë´ מַמרֵא,° unto the city of ´Arba` אַרבַּע,° which° [is] Çevrôn חֶברוֹן,° where°° ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם° and Yixçäk יִצחָק° sojourned.°°

 35:27 ¶ And Yaaqov came unto Yitzchaq his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arba, which [is] Chevron, where Avraham and Yitzchaq sojourned.

 35:28 And the days° of Yixçäk יִצחָק° were° an hundred°° and fourscore° years.°

 35:28 And the days of Yitzchaq were an hundred and fourscore years.

 35:29 And Yixçäk יִצחָק° gave up the ghost,°° and died,°° and was gathered°° unto° his people,° [being] old° and full° of days:° and his sons° `Ëŝäw עֵשָׂו° and Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב° buried°° him.

 35:29 And Yitzchaq gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, [being] old and full of days: and his sons Esaw and Yaaqov buried him.
