12:1 ¶
Now
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had said°°
unto°
´Avräm
אַברָם,°
Get thee out°°°
of thy country,°°
and from thy kindred,°°
and from thy father's°
house,°°°
unto°
a land°
that°
I will shew°°
thee: |
|
12:1 ¶
Now Yahweh had said unto Avram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: |
12:2
And I will make°
of thee°°
a great°
nation,°
and I will bless°°
thee, and make°°
thy name°
great;°°°
and thou shalt be°
a blessing:° |
|
12:2
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: |
12:3
And I will bless°°
them that bless°°
thee, and curse°°
him that curseth°°
thee: and in thee shall all°
families°
of the earth°
be blessed.°° |
|
12:3
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. |
12:4
So
´Avräm
אַברָם°
departed,°°°
as°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had spoken°°
unto°
him; and
Lôţ
לוֹט°
went°°°
with°
him: and
´Avräm
אַברָם°
[was] seventy°°
and five°
years°
old°
when he departed°°
out of
Çärän
חָרָן.°° |
|
12:4
So Avram departed, as Yahweh had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Avram [was] seventy and five years old when he departed out of Charan. |
12:5
And
´Avräm
אַברָם°
took°°°
Ŝäray
שָׂרַי°
his wife,°
and
Lôţ
לוֹט°
his brother's°
son,°
and all°
their substance°
that°
they had gathered,°°
and the souls°
that°
they had gotten°°
in
Çärän
חָרָן;°
and they went forth°°
to go°°°
into the land°
of
Cænä`an
כְּנָעַן;°
and into the land°
of
Cænä`an
כְּנָעַן°
they came.°° |
|
12:5
And Avram took Saray his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Charan; and they went forth to go into the land of Kenaan; and into the land of Kenaan they came. |
12:6 ¶
And
´Avräm
אַברָם°
passed through°°
the land°
unto°
the place°
of
Šæȼem
שְׁכֶם,°
unto°
the plain°
of
Môrè
מוֹרֶה.°
And the
Cæna`ánî
כְּנַעֲנִי°
[was] then°
in the land.° |
|
12:6 ¶
And Avram passed through the land unto the place of Shekhem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Kenaani [was] then in the land. |
12:7
And
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
appeared°°
unto°
´Avräm
אַברָם,°
and said,°°
Unto thy seed°
will I give°°°
this°
land:°
and there°
builded°°
he an altar°
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
who appeared°°
unto°
him. |
|
12:7
And Yahweh appeared unto Avram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto Yahweh, who appeared unto him. |
12:8
And he removed°°
from thence°°
unto a mountain°
on the east°°
of
Bêŧ ´Ël
בֵּית־אֵל,°
and pitched°°
his tent,°
[having]
Bêŧ ´Ël
בֵּית־אֵל°
on the west,°°
and
`Ay
עַי°
on the east:°°
and there°
he builded°°
an altar°
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and called°°
upon the name°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |
|
12:8
And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Beth-El, and pitched his tent, [having] Beth-El on the west, and Ay on the east: and there he builded an altar unto Yahweh, and called upon the name of Yahweh. |
12:9
And
´Avräm
אַברָם°
journeyed,°°
going on°°
still°°
toward the south.° |
|
12:9
And Avram journeyed, going on still toward the south. |
12:10 ¶
And there was°
a famine°
in the land:°
and
´Avräm
אַברָם°
went down°°
into
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם°
to sojourn°°
there;°
for°
the famine°
[was] grievous°
in the land.° |
|
12:10 ¶
And there was a famine in the land: and Avram went down into Mitzrayim to sojourn there; for the famine [was] grievous in the land. |
12:11
And it came to pass,°
when°
he was come near°°
to enter°°
into
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°
that he said°°
unto°
Ŝäray
שָׂרַי°
his wife,°
Behold°
now,°
I know°°
that°
thou°
[art] a fair°
woman°
to look upon:° |
|
12:11
And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Mitzrayim, that he said unto Saray his wife, Behold now, I know that thou [art] a fair woman to look upon: |
12:12
Therefore it shall come to pass,°
when°
the
Mixrîm
מִצרִים°
shall see°°
thee, that they shall say,°°
This°
[is] his wife:°
and they will kill°°
me, but they will save thee alive.°° |
|
12:12
Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Mitzrim shall see thee, that they shall say, This [is] his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. |
12:13
Say,°°
I pray thee,°
thou°
[art] my sister:°
that°
it may be well°°
with me for thy sake;°
and my soul°
shall live°°
because of°
thee.° |
|
12:13
Say, I pray thee, thou [art] my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. |
12:14 ¶
And it came to pass,°
that, when
´Avräm
אַברָם°
was come°°
into
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°
the
Mixrîm
מִצרִים°
beheld°°°
the woman°
that°
she°
[was] very°
fair.° |
|
12:14 ¶
And it came to pass, that, when Avram was come into Mitzrayim, the Mitzrim beheld the woman that she [was] very fair. |
12:15
The princes°
also of
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה°
saw°°
her, and commended°°
her before°
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה:°
and the woman°
was taken°°
into
Par`ò's
פַּרעֹה°
house.° |
|
12:15
The princes also of Paroh saw her, and commended her before Paroh: and the woman was taken into Paroh's house. |
12:16
And he entreated°°
´Avräm
אַברָם°
well°°°
for her sake:°
and he had°
sheep,°
and oxen,°
and he asses,°
and menservants,°
and maidservants,°
and she asses,°
and camels.° |
|
12:16
And he entreated Avram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels. |
12:17
And
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
plagued°°°
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה°
and his house°
with great°
plagues°
because of°°
Ŝäray
שָׂרַי°
´Avräm's
אַברָם°
wife.° |
|
12:17
And Yahweh plagued Paroh and his house with great plagues because of Saray Avram's wife. |
12:18
And
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה°
called°°
´Avräm
אַברָם,°
and said,°°
What°
[is] this°
[that] thou hast done°°
unto me? why°
didst thou not°
tell°°
me that°
she°
[was] thy wife?° |
|
12:18
And Paroh called Avram, and said, What [is] this [that] thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she [was] thy wife? |
12:19
Why°
saidst°
thou,°°
She°
[is] my sister?°
so I might have taken°°
her to me to wife:°
now therefore°
behold°
thy wife,°
take°°
[her], and go thy way.°°° |
|
12:19
Why saidst thou, She [is] my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take [her], and go thy way. |
12:20
And
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה°
commanded°°
[his] men°°
concerning°
him: and they sent him away,°°°
and his wife,°
and all°
that°
he had. |
|
12:20
And Paroh commanded [his] men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had. |
