Ἦν δὲ ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τῶν Φαρισαίων, Νικόδημος ὄνομα αὐτῷ, ἄρχων τῶν Ἰουδαίων:
It-was moreover, a-mankind out of-the-ones of-of-Faris-belonged, a-Nikodemos a-name unto-it, a-firsting of-the-ones of-Iouda-belonged;

 3:1 Ἦν "It-was" δὲ "moreover," ἄνθρωπος "a-mankind" ἐκ "out" τῶν "of-the-ones" Φαρισαίων, "of-of-Faris-belonged," Νικόδημος "a-Nikodemos" ὄνομα "a-name" αὐτῷ, "unto-it," ἄρχων "a-firsting" τῶν "of-the-ones" Ἰουδαίων: "of-Iouda-belonged;"

οὗτος ἦλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν νυκτὸς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ῥαββεί, οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἀπὸ θεοῦ ἐλήλυθας διδάσκαλος: οὐδεὶς γὰρ δύναται ταῦτα τὰ σημεῖα ποιεῖν ἃ σὺ ποιεῖς, ἐὰν μὴ ᾖ ὁ θεὸς μετ' αὐτοῦ.

λέγει πρὸς αὐτὸν [ὁ] Νικόδημος Πῶς δύναται ἄνθρωπος γεννηθῆναι γἐρων ὤν; μὴ δύναται εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ δεύτερον εἰσελθεῖν καὶ γεννηθῆναι;

τὸ γεγεννημένον ἐκ τῆς σαρκὸς σάρξ ἐστιν, καὶ τὸ γεγεννημένον ἐκ τοῦ πνεύματος πνεῦμά ἐστιν.

μὴ θαυμάσῃς ὅτι εἶπόν σοι Δεῖ ὑμᾶς γεννηθῆναι ἄνωθεν.

 3:7 μὴ "Lest" θαυμάσῃς "thou-might-have-marvelled-to" ὅτι "to-which-a-one" εἶπόν "I-had-said" σοι "unto-thee," Δεῖ "It-bindeth" ὑμᾶς "to-ye" γεννηθῆναι "to-have-been-generated-unto" ἄνωθεν. "up-unto-which-from."

τὸ πνεῦμα ὅπου θέλει πνεῖ, καὶ τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ ἀκούεις, ἀλλ' οὐκ οἶδας πόθεν ἔρχεται καὶ ποῦ ὑπάγει: οὕτως ἐστὶν πᾶς ὁ γεγεννημένος ἐκ τοῦ πνεύματος.

ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω σοι ὅτι ὃ οἴδαμεν λαλοῦμεν καὶ ὃ ἑωράκαμεν μαρτυροῦμεν, καὶ τὴν μαρτυρίαν ἡμῶν οὐ λαμβάνετε.
Amen amen I-forth unto-thee to-which-a-one to-which we-had-come-to-see we-speak-unto and to-which we-had-come-to-discern-unto we-witness-unto, and to-the-one to-a-witnessing-unto of-us not ye-take.

καὶ οὐδεὶς ἀναβέβηκεν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εἰ μὴ ὁ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβάς, ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.

ἵνα πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων ἐν αὐτῷ ἔχῃ ζωὴν αἰώνιον,

οὔπω γὰρ ἦν βεβλημένος εἰς τὴν φυλακὴν Ἰωάνης.
not-unto-whither therefore it-was having-had-come-to-be-casted into to-the-one to-a-guarding an-Ioanes.

 3:24 οὔπω "not-unto-whither" γὰρ "therefore" ἦν "it-was" βεβλημένος "having-had-come-to-be-casted" εἰς "into" τὴν "to-the-one" φυλακὴν "to-a-guarding" Ἰωάνης. "an-Ioanes."

Ἐγένετο οὖν ζήτησις ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν Ἰωάνου μετὰ Ἰουδαίου περὶ καθαρισμοῦ.
It-had-became accordingly a-seeking out of-the-ones of-learners of-an-Ioanes with of-Iouda-belonged about of-a-cleansing-of.

 3:25 Ἐγένετο "It-had-became" οὖν "accordingly" ζήτησις "a-seeking" ἐκ "out" τῶν "of-the-ones" μαθητῶν "of-learners" Ἰωάνου "of-an-Ioanes" μετὰ "with" Ἰουδαίου "of-Iouda-belonged" περὶ "about" καθαρισμοῦ. "of-a-cleansing-of."

καὶ ἦλθαν πρὸς τὸν Ἰωάνην καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ Ῥαββεί, ὃς ἦν μετὰ σοῦ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, ᾧ σὺ μεμαρτύρηκας, ἴδε οὗτος βαπτίζει καὶ πάντες ἔρχονται πρὸς αὐτόν.

ἀπεκρίθη Ἰωάνης καὶ εἶπεν Οὐ δύναται ἄνθρωπος λαμβάνειν οὐδὲν ἐὰν μὴ ᾖ δεδομένον αὐτῷ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ.

"of-a-sky."

αὐτοὶ ὑμεῖς μοι μαρτυρεῖτε ὅτι εἶπον [ἐγώ] Οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐγὼ ὁ χριστός, ἀλλ' ὅτι Ἀπεσταλμένος εἰμὶ ἔμπροσθεν ἐκείνου.

 3:28 αὐτοὶ "Them" ὑμεῖς "ye" μοι "unto-me" μαρτυρεῖτε "ye-witness-unto" ὅτι "to-which-a-one" εἶπον "I-had-said" [ἐγώ] "[I]," Οὐκ "Not" εἰμὶ "I-be" ἐγὼ "I" ὁ "the-one" χριστός, "Anointed," ἀλλ' "other" ὅτι "to-which-a-one," Ἀπεσταλμένος "Having-had-come-to-be-set-off" εἰμὶ "I-be" ἔμπροσθεν "in-toward-from" ἐκείνου. ὁ ἔχων τὴν νύμφην νυμφίος ἐστίν: ὁ δὲ φίλος τοῦ νυμφίου, ὁ ἑστηκὼς καὶ ἀκούων αὐτοῦ, χαρᾷ χαίρει διὰ τὴν φωνὴν τοῦ νυμφίου. αὕτη οὖν ἡ χαρὰ ἡ ἐμὴ πεπλήρωται.

ὁ λαβὼν αὐτοῦ τὴν μαρτυρίαν ἐσφράγισεν ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ἀληθής ἐστιν.

ὁ πιστεύων εἰς τὸν υἱὸν ἔχει ζωὴν αἰώνιον: ὁ δὲ ἀπειθῶν τῷ υἱῷ οὐκ ὄψεται ζωήν, ἀλλ' ἡ ὀργὴ τοῦ θεοῦ μένει ἐπ' αὐτόν.
