וַיֹּאמֶר גִּדְעוֹן לָכֵן בְּתֵת יְהוָה אֶת־זֶבַח וְאֶת־צַלְמֻנָּע בְּיָדִי וְדַשְׁתִּי אֶת־בְּשַׂרְכֶם אֶת־קוֹצֵי הַמִּדְבָּר וְאֶת־הַבַּרְקֳנִים

וְזֶבַח וְצַלְמֻנָּע בַּקַּרְקֹר וּמַחֲנֵיהֶם עִמָּם כַּחֲמֵשֶׁת עָשָׂר אֶלֶף כֹּל הַנּוֹתָרִים מִכֹּל מַחֲנֵה בְנֵי־קֶדֶם וְהַנֹּפְלִים מֵאָה וְעֶשְׂרִים אֶלֶף אִישׁ שֹׁלֵף חָרֶב

 8:11 ¶ And Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן 1439 went up 5927 z8799 by the way 1870 of them that dwelt 7931 z8803 in tents 168 on the east 6924 x4480 of Növaç נֹבַח 5025 and Yoqbóhà יָגבֳּהָה, 3011 and smote 5221 z8686 x853 the host: 4264 for the host 4264 was x1961 secure. 983

וַיִּלְכָּד־נַעַר מֵאַנְשֵׁי סֻכּוֹת וַיִּשְׁאָלֵהוּ וַיִּכְתֹּב אֵלָיו אֶת־שָׂרֵי סֻכּוֹת וְאֶת־זְקֵנֶיהָ שִׁבְעִים וְשִׁבְעָה אִישׁ

וְאֶת־מִגְדַּל פְּנוּאֵל נָתָץ וַיַּהֲרֹג אֶת־אַנְשֵׁי הָעִיר

 8:17 And he beat down 5422 z8804 the tower 4026 of Pænû´ël פְּנוּאֵל, 6439 and slew 2026 z8799 x853 the men y582 x376 of the city. 5892

וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־זֶבַח וְאֶל־צַלְמֻנָּע אֵיפֹה הָאֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר הֲרַגְתֶּם בְּתָבוֹר וַיֹּאמְרוּ כָּמוֹךָ כְמוֹהֶם אֶחָד כְּתֹאַר בְּנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ

 8:18 waYomer el-zevach w'el-tzal'muNä ëyfoh häánäshiym ásher hárag'Tem B'tävôr waYom'rû Kämôkhä kh'môhem echäd K'toar B'nëy haMelekh'

 8:18 ¶ Then said 559 z8799 he unto x413 Zevaç זֶבַח 2078 and Xalmunnä` צַלמֻנָּע, 6759 What y375 manner x375 of men y582 x376 [were they] whom x834 ye slew 2026 z8804 at Tävôr תָּבוֹר? 8396 And they answered, 559 z8799 As thou 3644 [art], so [were] they; each one 259 resembled 8389 the children 1121 of a king. 4428

וַיֹּאמֶר לְיֶתֶר בְּכוֹרוֹ קוּם הֲרֹג אוֹתָם וְלֹא־שָׁלַף הַנַּעַר חַרְבּוֹ כִּי יָרֵא כִּי עוֹדֶנּוּ נָעַר

וַיֹּאמֶר זֶבַח וְצַלְמֻנָּע קוּם אַתָּה וּפְגַע־בָּנוּ כִּי כָאִישׁ גְּבוּרָתוֹ וַיָּקָם גִּדְעוֹן וַיַּהֲרֹג אֶת־זֶבַח וְאֶת־צַלְמֻנָּע וַיִּקַּח אֶת־הַשַּׂהֲרֹנִים אֲשֶׁר בְּצַוְּארֵי גְמַלֵּיהֶם

 8:21 Then Zevaç זֶבַח 2078 and Xalmunnä` צַלמֻנָּע 6759 said, 559 z8799 Rise 6965 z8798 thou, x859 and fall 6293 z8798 upon us: for x3588 as the man 376 [is, so is] his strength. 1369 And Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן 1439 arose, 6965 z8799 and slew 2026 z8799 x853 Zevaç זֶבַח 2078 and Xalmunnä` צַלמֻנָּע, 6759 and took away 3947 z8799 x853 the ornaments 7720 that x834 [were] on their camels' 1581 necks. 6677

 8:22 ¶ Then the men 376 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן, 1439 Rule 4910 z8798 thou over us, both x1571 thou, x859 and x1571 thy son, 1121 and thy son's 1121 son 1121 also: x1571 for x3588 thou hast delivered 3467 z8689 us from the hand 3027 x4480 of Miđyän מִדיָן. 4080

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם גִּדְעוֹן לֹא־אֶמְשֹׁל אֲנִי בָּכֶם וְלֹא־יִמְשֹׁל בְּנִי בָּכֶם יְהוָה יִמְשֹׁל בָּכֶם

 8:23 And Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן 1439 said 559 z8799 unto x413 them, I x589 will not x3808 rule 4910 z8799 over you, neither x3808 shall my son 1121 rule 4910 z8799 over you: Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 shall rule 4910 z8799 over you.

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם גִּדְעוֹן אֶשְׁאֲלָה מִכֶּם שְׁאֵלָה וּתְנוּ־לִי אִישׁ נֶזֶם שְׁלָלוֹ כִּי־נִזְמֵי זָהָב לָהֶם כִּי יִשְׁמְעֵאלִים הֵם

 8:24 ¶ And Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן 1439 said 559 z8799 unto x413 them, I would desire 7592 z8799 a request 7596 of x4480 you, that ye would give 5414 z8798 me every man 376 the earrings 5141 of his prey. 7998 (For x3588 they had golden 2091 earrings, 5141 because x3588 they x1992 [were] Yišmæ`ë´lîm יִשׁמְעֵאלִים.) 3459

וַיֹּאמְרוּ נָתוֹן נִתֵּן וַיִּפְרְשׂוּ אֶת־הַשִּׂמְלָה וַיַּשְׁלִיכוּ שָׁמָּה אִישׁ נֶזֶם שְׁלָלוֹ

וַיִּכָּנַע מִדְיָן לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא יָסְפוּ לָשֵׂאת רֹאשָׁם וַתִּשְׁקֹט הָאָרֶץ אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה בִּימֵי גִדְעוֹן פ

 8:28 waYiKäna mid'yän lif'nëy B'nëy yis'räël w'lo yäš'fû läsët roshäm waTish'qoţ hääretz ar'Bäiym shänäh Biymëy gid'ôn f

 8:28 ¶ Thus was Miđyän מִדיָן 4080 subdued 3665 z8735 before 6440 the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל, 3478 so that they lifted up 5375 z8800 their heads 7218 no x3808 more. 3254 z8804 And the country 776 was in quietness 8252 z8799 forty 705 years 8141 in the days 3117 of Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן. 1439

וַיֵּלֶךְ יְרֻבַּעַל בֶּן־יוֹאָשׁ וַיֵּשֶׁב בְּבֵיתוֹ

 8:29 ¶ And Yærubba`al יְרֻבַּעַל 3378 the son 1121 of Yô´äš יוֹאָשׁ 3101 went y3212 z8799 x1980 and dwelt 3427 z8799 in his own house. 1004

וּלְגִדְעוֹן הָיוּ שִׁבְעִים בָּנִים יֹצְאֵי יְרֵכוֹ כִּי־נָשִׁים רַבּוֹת הָיוּ לוֹ

וַיָּמָת גִּדְעוֹן בֶּן־יוֹאָשׁ בְּשֵׂיבָה טוֹבָה וַיִּקָּבֵר בְּקֶבֶר יוֹאָשׁ אָבִיו בְּעָפְרָה אֲבִי הָעֶזְרִי פ

 8:32 waYämät Gid'ôn Ben-yôäsh B'sëyväh ţôväh waYiQävër B'qever yôäsh äviyw B'äf'räh áviy häez'riy f

 8:32 ¶ And Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן 1439 the son 1121 of Yô´äš יוֹאָשׁ 3101 died 4191 z8799 in a good 2896 old age, 7872 and was buried 6912 z8735 in the sepulchre 6913 of Yô´äš יוֹאָשׁ 3101 his father, 1 in `Ofrà עָפרָה 6084 of the ´Ávî `Ezrîm אֲבִי־עֶזרִים. 33

וַיְהִי כַּאֲשֶׁר מֵת גִּדְעוֹן וַיָּשׁוּבוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּזְנוּ אַחֲרֵי הַבְּעָלִים וַיָּשִׂימוּ לָהֶם בַּעַל בְּרִית לֵאלֹהִים

 8:33 way'hiy Kaásher mët Gid'ôn waYäshûvû B'nëy yis'räël waYiz'nû achárëy haB'äliym waYäsiymû lähem Baal B'riyt lëlohiym

 8:33 And it came to pass, x1961 as soon as x834 Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן 1439 was dead, 4191 z8804 that the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 turned again, 7725 z8799 and went a whoring 2181 z8799 after 310 Bæ`älîm בְּעָלִים, 1168 and made 7760 z8799 Ba`al Bærîŧ בַּעַל־בְּרִית 1170 their ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים. 430

וְלֹא זָכְרוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיהֶם הַמַּצִּיל אוֹתָם מִיַּד כָּל־אֹיְבֵיהֶם מִסָּבִיב

 8:34 w'lo zäkh'rû B'nëy yis'räël et-y'hwäh élohëyhem haMaTZiyl ôtäm miYad Käl-oy'vëyhem miŠäviyv

 8:34 And the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 remembered 2142 z8804 not x3808 x853 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 their ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים, 430 who had delivered 5337 z8688 x853 them out of the hands 3027 x4480 of all x3605 their enemies 341 z8802 on every side: 5439 x4480

וְלֹא־עָשׂוּ חֶסֶד עִם־בֵּית יְרֻבַּעַל גִּדְעוֹן כְּכָל־הַטּוֹבָה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה עִם־יִשְׂרָאֵל פ

 8:35 w'lo-äsû chešed im-Bëyt y'ruBaal Gid'ôn K'khäl-haŢôväh ásher äsäh im-yis'räël f

 8:35 Neither x3808 shewed 6213 z8804 they kindness 2617 to x5973 the house 1004 of Yærubba`al יְרֻבַּעַל, 3378 [namely], Giđ`ôn גִּדעוֹן, 1439 according to all x3605 the goodness 2896 which x834 he had shewed 6213 z8804 unto x5973 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל. 3478
