 7:1 ¶
In the firstº
yearº
of
Bëlša´xxar
בֵּלשַׁאצַּרº
kingº
of
Bävel
בָּבֶלº
Däniyyë´l
דָּנִיֵּאלº
hadºº
a dreamº
and visionsº
of his headº
uponº
his bed:º
thenº
he wroteºº
the dream,º
[and] toldºº
the sumº
of the matters.º |
|
 7:1 ¶
In the first year of Belshatztzar king of Bavel Daniyyel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, [and] told the sum of the matters. |
 7:2
Däniyyë´l
דָּנִיֵּאלº
spakeºº
and said,ºº
I sawºººº
in my visionº
byº
night,º
and, behold,º
the fourº
windsº
of the heavenº
stroveºº
upon the greatº
sea.º |
 7:2
Daniyyel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. |
 7:3
And fourº
greatº
beastsº
came upºº
fromº
the sea,º
diverseºº
oneº
fromº
another.ºº |
 7:3
And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. |
 7:4
The firstº
[was] like a lion,º
and had eagle'sºº
wings:º
I beheldºººº
tillºº
the wingsº
thereof were plucked,ºº
and it was lifted upºº
fromº
the earth,º
and made standºº
uponº
the feetº
as a man,º
and a man'sº
heartº
was givenºº
to it. |
 7:4
The first [was] like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. |
 7:5
And beholdº
anotherº
beast,º
a second,º
likeºº
to a bear,º
and it raised upºº
itself on oneº
side,º
and [it had] threeº
ribsº
in the mouthº
of it betweenº
the teethº
of it: and they saidºº
thusº
unto it, Arise,ºº
devourºº
muchº
flesh.º |
 7:5
And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and [it had] three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. |
 7:6
Afterº
thisº
I beheld,ºººº
and loº
another,º
like a leopard,º
which had uponº
the backº
of it fourº
wingsº
ofº
a fowl;º
the beastº
had also fourº
heads;º
and dominionº
was givenºº
to it. |
 7:6
After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. |
 7:7
Afterº
thisº
I sawºººº
in the nightº
visions,º
and beholdº
a fourthº
beast,º
dreadfulºº
and terrible,º
and strongº
exceedingly;º
and it had greatº
ironºº
teeth:º
it devouredºº
and brake in pieces,ºº
and stampedºº
the residueº
with the feetº
of it: and itº
[was] diverseºº
fromº
allº
the beastsº
thatº
[were] beforeº
it; and it had tenº
horns.º |
 7:7
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it [was] diverse from all the beasts that [were] before it; and it had ten horns. |
 7:8
I consideredºººº
the horns,º
and, behold,º
there came upºº
amongº
them anotherº
littleº
horn,º
beforeºº
whom there were threeº
ofº
the firstº
hornsº
plucked up by the roots:ºº
and, behold,º
in thisº
hornº
[were] eyesº
like the eyesº
of man,º
and a mouthº
speakingºº
great things.º |
 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. |
 7:9 ¶
I beheldºººº
tillºº
the thronesº
were cast down,ºº
and the Ancientº
of daysº
did sit,ºº
whose garmentº
[was] whiteº
as snow,º
and the hairº
of his headº
like the pureº
wool:º
his throneº
[was like] the fieryºº
flame,º
[and] his wheelsº
[as] burningºº
fire.º |
 7:9 ¶
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire. |
 7:10
A fieryºº
streamº
issuedºº
and came forthºº
fromº
beforeº
him: thousandº
thousandsº
ministeredºº
unto him, and ten thousandº
times ten thousandº
stoodºº
beforeº
him: the judgmentº
was set,ºº
and the booksº
were opened.ºº |
 7:10
A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. |
 7:11
I beheldºººº
thenº
becauseº
ofº
the voiceº
of the greatº
wordsº
whichº
the hornº
spake:ºº
I beheldºººº
[even] tillºº
the beastº
was slain,ºº
and his bodyº
destroyed,ºº
and givenºº
to the burningº
flame.º |
 7:11
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld [even] till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. |
 7:12
As concerning the restº
of the beasts,º
they had their dominionº
taken away:ºº
yet their livesº
were prolongedººº
forº
a seasonº
and time.º |
 7:12
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. |
 7:13
I sawºººº
in the nightº
visions,º
and, behold,º
[one] like the Sonº
of manº
cameººº
withº
the cloudsº
of heaven,º
and cameºº
toº
the Ancientº
of days,º
and they brought him nearºº
beforeº
him. |
 7:13
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. |
 7:14
And there was givenºº
him dominion,º
and glory,º
and a kingdom,º
that allº
people,º
nations,º
and languages,º
should serveºº
him: his dominionº
[is] an everlastingº
dominion,º
whichº
shall notº
pass away,ºº
and his kingdomº
[that] whichº
shall notº
be destroyed.ºº |
 7:14
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed. |
 7:15 ¶
Iº
Däniyyë´l
דָּנִיֵּאלº
was grievedºº
in my spiritº
in the midstº
of [my] body,º
and the visionsº
of my headº
troubledºº
me. |
 7:15 ¶
I Daniyyel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of [my] body, and the visions of my head troubled me. |
 7:16
I came nearºº
untoº
oneº
ofº
them that stood by,ºº
and askedººº
himº
the truthº
ofº
allº
this.º
So he toldºº
me, and made me knowºº
the interpretationº
of the things.º |
 7:16
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. |
 7:17
Theseº
greatº
beasts,º
whichºº
are four,º
[are] fourº
kings,º
[which] shall ariseºº
out ofº
the earth.º |
 7:17
These great beasts, which are four, [are] four kings, [which] shall arise out of the earth. |
 7:18
But the saintsº
of
`Elyôn
עֶליוֹןº
shall takeºº
the kingdom,º
and possessºº
the kingdomº
forº
ever,ºº
even forº
everºº
and ever.º |
 7:18
But the saints of Elyon shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. |
 7:19
Thenº
I wouldºº
knowº
the truthºº
ofº
the fourthº
beast,º
whichº
wasºº
diverseºº
fromº
allº
the others, exceedingº
dreadful,ºº
whose teethº
[were of]º
iron,º
and his nailsº
[of]º
brass;º
[which] devoured,ºº
brake in pieces,ºº
and stampedºº
the residueº
with his feet;º |
 7:19
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth [were of] iron, and his nails [of] brass; [which] devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; |
 7:20
And ofº
the tenº
hornsº
thatº
[were] in his head,º
and [of] the otherº
whichº
came up,ºº
and beforeºº
whom threeº
fell;ºº
even [of] thatº
hornº
thatº
had eyes,º
and a mouthº
that spakeºº
very great things,º
whose lookº
[was] moreºº
stoutº
thanº
his fellows.º |
 7:20
And of the ten horns that [were] in his head, and [of] the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even [of] that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look [was] more stout than his fellows. |
 7:21
I beheld,ºººº
and the sameº
hornº
madeºº
warº
withº
the saints,º
and prevailedºº
against them; |
 7:21
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; |
 7:22
Untilºº
the Ancientº
of daysº
came,ººº
and judgmentº
was givenºº
to the saintsº
of
`Elyôn
עֶליוֹן;º
and the timeº
cameºº
that the saintsº
possessedºº
the kingdom.º |
 7:22
Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of Elyon; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. |
 7:23
Thusº
he said,ºº
The fourthº
beastº
shall beºº
the fourthº
kingdomº
upon earth,º
whichº
shall be diverseºº
fromº
allº
kingdoms,º
and shall devourºº
the wholeº
earth,º
and shall tread it down,ºº
and break it in pieces.ºº |
 7:23
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. |
 7:24
And the tenº
hornsº
out ofº
this kingdomº
[are] tenº
kingsº
[that] shall arise:ºº
and anotherº
shall riseºº
afterº
them; and heº
shall be diverseºº
fromº
the first,º
and he shall subdueºº
threeº
kings.º |
 7:24
And the ten horns out of this kingdom [are] ten kings [that] shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. |
 7:25
And he shall speakºº
[great] wordsº
againstº
`Illäyä´
עִלָּיָא,º
and shall wear outºº
the saintsº
of
`Elyôn
עֶליוֹן,º
and thinkºº
to changeºº
timesº
and laws:º
and they shall be givenºº
into his handº
untilº
a timeº
and timesº
and the dividingº
of time.º |
 7:25
And he shall speak [great] words against Illaya, and shall wear out the saints of Elyon, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. |
 7:26
But the judgmentº
shall sit,ºº
and they shall take awayºº
his dominion,º
to consumeºº
and to destroyºº
[it] untoº
the end.º |
 7:26
But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy [it] unto the end. |
 7:27
And the kingdomº
and dominion,º
and the greatnessº
ofº
the kingdomº
underº
the wholeº
heaven,º
shall be givenºº
to the peopleº
of the saintsº
of
`Elyôn
עֶליוֹן,º
whose kingdomº
[is] an everlastingº
kingdom,º
and allº
dominionsº
shall serveºº
and obeyºº
him. |
 7:27
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of Elyon, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. |
 7:28
Hithertoºº
[is] the endº
ofº
the matter.º
As for meº
Däniyyë´l
דָּנִיֵּאל,º
my cogitationsº
muchº
troubledºº
me, and my countenanceº
changedºº
inº
me:º
but I keptºº
the matterº
in my heart.º |
 7:28
Hitherto [is] the end of the matter. As for me Daniyyel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart. |
