33:1 ¶
Menashsheh [was] twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Yerushalaim: |

33:2
But did°°
[that which was] evil°
in the sight°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
like unto the abominations°
of the heathen,°
whom°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had cast out°°
before°°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

33:2
But did [that which was] evil in the sight of Yahweh, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom Yahweh had cast out before the children of Yisrael. |
|
33:3 ¶
For he built°°
again°°°
the high places°
which°
Çizkiyyà
חִזקִיָּה°
his father°
had broken down,°°
and he reared up°°
altars°
for
Bæ`älîm
בְּעָלִים,°
and made°°
groves,°
and worshipped°°
all°
the host°
of heaven,°
and served°°
them. |

33:3 ¶
For he built again the high places which Chizqiyyah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Bealim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. |

33:4
Also he built°°
altars°
in the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
whereof°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had said,°°
In
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
shall my name°
be°
for ever.° |
|
33:4
Also he built altars in the house of Yahweh, whereof Yahweh had said, In Yerushalaim shall my name be for ever. |
|
33:5
And he built°°
altars°
for all°
the host°
of heaven°
in the two°
courts°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |
|
33:5
And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Yahweh. |
|
33:6
And he°
caused°°°
his children°
to pass°
through°°
the fire°
in the valley°
of the son°
of
Hinnöm
הִנֹּם:°
also he observed times,°°
and used enchantments,°°
and used witchcraft,°°
and dealt°°
with°
a familiar spirit,°
and with wizards:°
he wrought°°
much°°
evil°
in the sight°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
to provoke him to anger.°° |

And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger. |

33:7
And he set°°°
a carved image,°
the idol°
which°
he had made,°°
in the house°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
of which°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
had said°°
to°
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
and to°
Šælömò
שְׁלֹמֹה°
his son,°
In this°
house,°
and in
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
which°
I have chosen°°
before all°°
the tribes°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
will I put°°°
my name°
for ever:° |

And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of Elohim, of which Elohim had said to Dawid and to Shelomoh his son, In this house, and in Yerushalaim, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Yisrael, will I put my name for ever: |

Neither°
will I any more°°
remove°°°
the foot°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
from out°
of°°
the land°
which°
I have appointed°°
for your fathers;°
so that°°
they will take heed°°
to do°°°
all°
that°
I have commanded°°
them, according to the whole°
law°
and the statutes°
and the ordinances°
by the hand°
of

מֹשֶׁה.° |

33:8
Neither will I any more remove the foot of Yisrael from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Mosheh. |

and the inhabitants°°

יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
to err,°°
[and] to do°°
worse°
than°
the heathen,°
whom°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had destroyed°°
before°°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

33:9
So Menashsheh made Yehudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalaim to err, [and] to do worse than the heathen, whom Yahweh had destroyed before the children of Yisrael. |
|
33:10
And
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
spake°°
to°
Mænaššè
מְנַשֶּׁה,°
and to°
his people:°
but they would not°
hearken.°° |
|
33:10
And Yahweh spake to Menashsheh, and to his people: but they would not hearken. |
|
33:11 ¶
Wherefore
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
brought°°
upon°°
them the captains°
of°
the host of°
the king°
of
´Aššûr
אַשּׁוּר,°
which°
took°°°
Mænaššè
מְנַשֶּׁה°
among the thorns,°
and bound°
him°°
with fetters,°
and carried°°°
him to
Bävel
בָּבֶל.° |

33:11 ¶
Wherefore Yahweh brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Ashshur, which took Menashsheh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Bavel. |
|
33:12
And when he was in affliction,°°
he besought°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°°
his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and humbled°°
himself°
greatly°
before°°
the
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of his fathers,° |
|
33:12
And when he was in affliction, he besought Yahweh his Elohim, and humbled himself greatly before the Elohim of his fathers, |
|
33:13
And prayed°°
unto°
him: and he was intreated°°
of him, and heard°°
his supplication,°
and brought him again°°
to
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
into his kingdom.°
Then
Mænaššè
מְנַשֶּׁה°
knew°°
that°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
he°
[was]
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.° |

And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Yerushalaim into his kingdom. Then Menashsheh knew that Yahweh he [was] Elohim. |
|
33:14
Now after°
this°°
he built°°
a wall°
without°
the city°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
on the west side°
of
Gîçôn
גִּיחוֹן,°
in the valley,°
even to the entering in°°
at the fish°
gate,°
and compassed°°
about°
`Öfel
עֹפֶל,°
and raised it up°°
a very great height,°°
and put°°
captains°
of war°
in all°
the fenced°°
cities°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה.° |

33:14
Now after this he built a wall without the city of Dawid, on the west side of Gichon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ofel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Yehudah. |

33:15
And he took away°°°
the strange°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and the idol°
out of the house°°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and all°
the altars°
that°
he had built°°
in the mount°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and in
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
and cast°°
[them] out°
of°
the city.° |

And he took away the strange elohim, and the idol out of the house of Yahweh, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of Yahweh, and in Yerushalaim, and cast [them] out of the city. |
|
33:16
And he repaired°°°
the altar°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and sacrificed°°
thereon°
peace°
offerings°
and thank offerings,°
and commanded°°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
to serve°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

33:16
And he repaired the altar of Yahweh, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Yehudah to serve Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael. |

Nevertheless°
the people°
did sacrifice°°
still°
in the high places,°
[yet] unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
their
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
only.° |

33:17
Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, [yet] unto Yahweh their Elohim only. |
|
33:18 ¶
Now the rest°
of the acts°

מְנַשֶּׁה,°
and his prayer°
unto°
his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and the words°
of the seers°
that spake°°
to°
him in the name°

Yähwè
יָהוֶה°

behold,°

of the kings°

Now the rest of the acts of Menashsheh, and his prayer unto his Elohim, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael, behold, they [are written] in the book of the kings of Yisrael. |

and his trespass,°
and the places°
wherein°
he built°°
high places,°

and graven images,°

he was humbled:°°
behold,°

His prayer also, and [how Elohim] was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they [are] written among the sayings of the seers. |

him in his own house:°

his son°
reigned°°
in his stead.° |

So Menashsheh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead. |

33:21 ¶

[was] two°
and twenty°
years°
old°
when he began to reign,°°
and reigned°°

years°

Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.° |

33:21 ¶
Amon [was] two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Yerushalaim. |

But he did°°

יָהוֶה,°

his father:°
for
´Ämôn
אָמוֹן°
sacrificed°°
unto all°
the carved images°
which°
Mænaššè
מְנַשֶּׁה°
his father°
had made,°°
and served°°
them; |

But he did [that which was] evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did Menashsheh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Menashsheh his father had made, and served them; |

And humbled°°
not himself°°
before°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
as
Mænaššè
מְנַשֶּׁה°
his father°
had humbled°°
himself;°
but°
´Ämôn
אָמוֹן°
trespassed°
more and more.°° |

33:23
And humbled not himself before Yahweh, as Menashsheh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more. |
|
33:24
And his servants°
conspired°°
against°
him, and slew°°
him in his own house.° |
|
33:24
And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house. |
|
33:25 ¶
But the people°
of the land°
slew°°°
all°
them that had conspired°°
against°
king°
´Ämôn
אָמוֹן;°
and the people°
of the land°
made°°
Yö´šiyyà
יֹאשִׁיָּה°
his son°
king°°°°°
in his stead.° |

33:25 ¶
But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Yoshiyyah his son king in his stead. |
