his son°
reigned°°
in his stead.° |

21:1 ¶
Now Yehoshafat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of Dawid. And Yehoram his son reigned in his stead. |
|
21:2
And he had brethren°
the sons°
of
Yæhôšäfäţ
יְהוֹשָׁפָט,°
`Ázaryà
עֲזַריָה,°
and
Yæ`î´ël
יְעִיאֵל,°
and
Zæȼaryà
זְכַריָה,°
and
`Ázaryà
עֲזַריָה,°
and
Mîȼä´ël
מִיכָאֵל,°
and
Šæfaţyà
שְׁפַטיָה:°
all°
these°
[were] the sons°
of
Yæhôšäfäţ
יְהוֹשָׁפָט°
king°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

21:2
And he had brethren the sons of Yehoshafat, Azaryah, and Yeiel, and Zekharyah, and Azaryah, and Mikhael, and Shefatyah: all these [were] the sons of Yehoshafat king of Yisrael. |

21:3
And their father°
gave°°
them great°
gifts°
of silver,°
and of gold,°
and of precious things,°
with°
fenced°
cities°
in
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה:°
but the kingdom°
gave°°
he to
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם;°
because°
he°
[was] the firstborn.° |

21:3
And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Yehudah: but the kingdom gave he to Yehoram; because he [was] the firstborn. |
|
21:4
Now when
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°
was risen up°°
to°
the kingdom°
of his father,°
he strengthened°°
himself,°
and slew°°°
all°
his brethren°
with the sword,°
and [divers] also°
of the princes°°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

21:4
Now when Yehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and [divers] also of the princes of Yisrael. |
|
21:5 ¶
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°
[was] thirty°
and two°
years°
old°
when he began to reign,°°
and he reigned°°
eight°
years°
in
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.° |
|
21:5 ¶
Yehoram [was] thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Yerushalaim. |

21:6
And he walked°°°
in the way°
of the kings°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
like as°
did°°
the house°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב:°
for°
he had°
the daughter°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב°
to wife:°
and he wrought°°
[that which was] evil°
in the eyes°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

21:6
And he walked in the way of the kings of Yisrael, like as did the house of Achav: for he had the daughter of Achav to wife: and he wrought [that which was] evil in the eyes of Yahweh. |

21:7
Howbeit
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
would°°
not°
destroy°°°
the house°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
because of°
the covenant°
that°
he had made°°
with
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
and as°
he promised°°
to give°°
a light°
to him and to his sons°
for ever.°° |

21:7
Howbeit Yahweh would not destroy the house of Dawid, because of the covenant that he had made with Dawid, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever. |
|
21:8 ¶
In his days°
the
´Áđômîm
אֲדוֹמִים°
revolted°°
from under°°
the dominion°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and made°°°
themselves a king.° |
|
21:8 ¶
In his days the Adomim revolted from under the dominion of Yehudah, and made themselves a king. |
|
21:9
Then
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°
went forth°°
with°
his princes,°
and all°
his chariots°
with°
him: and he rose up°°°
by night,°
and smote°°°
the
´Áđômîm
אֲדוֹמִים°
which compassed°°
him in,°°
and the captains°
of the chariots.° |

Then Yehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Adomim which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots. |
|
21:10
So the
´Áđômîm
אֲדוֹמִים°
revolted°°
from under°°
the hand°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
unto°
this°
day.°
The same°
time°
[also] did
Livnà
לִבנָה°
revolt°°
from under°°
his hand;°
because°
he had forsaken°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of his fathers.° |

21:10
So the Adomim revolted from under the hand of Yehudah unto this day. The same time [also] did Livnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken Yahweh Elohim of his fathers. |
|
21:11
Moreover°
he°
made°°
high places°
in the mountains°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and caused°
the inhabitants°°
of
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
to commit fornication,°°
and compelled°°°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
[thereto]. |

21:11
Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Yehudah, and caused the inhabitants of Yerushalaim to commit fornication, and compelled Yehudah [thereto]. |
|
21:12 ¶
And there came°°
a writing°
to°
him from
´Ëliyyà
אֵלִיָּה°°
the prophet,°
saying,°°
Thus°
saith°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
thy father,°
Because°°
thou hast not°
walked°°
in the ways°
of
Yæhôšäfäţ
יְהוֹשָׁפָט°
thy father,°
nor in the ways°
of
´Äsä´
אָסָא°
king°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,° |

21:12 ¶
And there came a writing to him from Eliyyah the prophet, saying, Thus saith Yahweh Elohim of Dawid thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Yehoshafat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Yehudah, |

But hast walked°°°
in the way°
of the kings°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
and hast made°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
and the inhabitants°°
of
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
to go a whoring,°°
like to the whoredoms°°
of the house°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב,°
and also°
hast slain°°°
thy brethren°
of thy father's°
house,°
[which were] better°
than°
thyself: |

21:13
But hast walked in the way of the kings of Yisrael, and hast made Yehudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalaim to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Achav, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, [which were] better than thyself: |
|
21:14
Behold,°
with a great°
plague°
will
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
smite°°
thy people,°
and thy children,°
and thy wives,°
and all°
thy goods:° |

21:14
Behold, with a great plague will Yahweh smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods: |
|
21:15
And thou°
[shalt have] great°
sickness°
by disease°
of thy bowels,°
until°
thy bowels°
fall out°°
by reason of°
the sickness°
day°
by°
day.° |

21:15
And thou [shalt have] great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day. |
|
21:16 ¶
Moreover
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
stirred up°°
against°
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°°
the spirit°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים,°
and of the
`Árävîm
עֲרָבִים,°
that°
[were] near°°
the
Cûšîm
כּוּשִׁים:° |

21:16 ¶
Moreover Yahweh stirred up against Yehoram the spirit of the Pelishtim, and of the Aravim, that [were] near the Kushim: |

21:17
And they came up°°
into
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and brake°°
into°
it, and carried away°°°
all°
the substance°
that was found°°
in the king's°
house,°
and his sons°
also,°
and his wives;°
so that there was never°
a son°
left°°
him, save°°
Yæhô´äçäz
יְהוֹאָחָז,°
the youngest°
of his sons.° |

21:17
And they came up into Yehudah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Yehoachaz, the youngest of his sons. |
|
21:18 ¶
And after°
all°
this°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
smote°°
him in his bowels°
with an incurable°°
disease.° |
|
21:18 ¶
And after all this Yahweh smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease. |
|
21:19
And it came to pass,°
that in process of time,°°
after°°°
the end°°°
of two°
years,°
his bowels°
fell out°°
by reason°
of°
his sickness:°
so he died°°
of sore°
diseases.°
And his people°
made°°
no°
burning°
for him, like the burning°
of his fathers.° |

And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers. |

21:20
Thirty°
and two°
years old°
was°
he when he began to reign,°°
and he reigned°°
in
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
eight°
years,°
and departed°°°
without°
being desired.°
Howbeit they buried°°
him in the city°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
but not°
in the sepulchres°
of the kings.° |

21:20
Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Yerushalaim eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of Dawid, but not in the sepulchres of the kings. |
