24:1 ¶
Yoash [was] seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Yerushalaim. His mother's name also [was] Tzivyah of Beer-Sheva. |

[that which was] right°
in the sight°

Yähwè
יָהוֶה°

the days°

יְהוֹיָדָע°
the priest.° |

And Yoash did [that which was] right in the sight of Yahweh all the days of Yehoyada the priest. |

And

יְהוֹיָדָע°
took°°
for him two°
wives;°
and he begat°°
sons°
and daughters.° |

And Yehoyada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters. |

24:4 ¶
And it came to pass°
after°
this,°
[that]

minded°°
to repair°°°
the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

24:4 ¶
And it came to pass after this, [that] Yoash was minded to repair the house of Yahweh. |

And he gathered together°°°
the priests°
and the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּם,°
and said°°
to them, Go out°°
unto the cities°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and gather°°
of all°°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
money°
to repair°°°
the house°
of your
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
from°°
year°
to year,°
and see that ye°
hasten°°
the matter.°
Howbeit the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּם°
hastened°°
[it] not.° |

24:5
And he gathered together the priests and the Lewiyyim, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Yehudah, and gather of all Yisrael money to repair the house of your Elohim from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Lewiyyim hastened [it] not. |

And the king°

יְהוֹיָדָע°
the chief,°
and said°°
unto him, Why°
hast thou not°
required°°
of°
the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּם°
to bring in°°
out of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°°
and out of
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°°°
the collection,°
[according to the commandment] of
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה°
the servant°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and of the congregation°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
for the tabernacle°
of witness?° |

And the king called for Yehoyada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Lewiyyim to bring in out of Yehudah and out of Yerushalaim the collection, [according to the commandment] of Mosheh the servant of Yahweh, and of the congregation of Yisrael, for the tabernacle of witness? |

24:7
For°
the sons°
of
`Áŧalyà
עֲתַליָה,°
that wicked°
woman,°
had broken up°°°
the house°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים;°
and also°
all°
the dedicated things°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
did they bestow°°
upon
Bæ`älîm
בְּעָלִים.° |

24:7
For the sons of Athalyah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of Elohim; and also all the dedicated things of the house of Yahweh did they bestow upon Bealim. |
|
24:8
And at the king's°
commandment°°
they made°°
a°
chest,°
and set°°
it without°
at the gate°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

24:8
And at the king's commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of Yahweh. |
|
24:9
And they made°°
a proclamation°
through
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
and
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
to bring in°°
to
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
the collection°
[that]
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה°
the servant°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
[laid] upon°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
in the wilderness.° |

24:9
And they made a proclamation through Yehudah and Yerushalaim, to bring in to Yahweh the collection [that] Mosheh the servant of Elohim [laid] upon Yisrael in the wilderness. |
|
24:10
And all°
the princes°
and all°
the people°
rejoiced,°°
and brought in,°°
and cast°°
into the chest,°
until°
they had made an end.°° |

Now it came to pass,°
that at what time°°
the chest°
was brought°°
unto°
the king's°
office°
by the hand°

and when they saw°°

money,°

officer°
came°°
and emptied°°°
the chest,°
and took°°
it, and carried°°
it to°
his place°
again.°°
Thus°
they did°°
day°
by day,°
and gathered°°
money°
in abundance.° |

Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's office by the hand of the Lewiyyim, and when they saw that [there was] much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance. |

24:12
And the king°

such as did°°
the work°
of the service°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and hired°°°
masons°°
and carpenters°
to repair°°
the house°

Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°

such as wrought°
iron°
and brass°
to mend°°°
the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

And the king and Yehoyada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of Yahweh, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of Yahweh, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of Yahweh. |

24:13
So the workmen°°°
wrought,°°
and the work°
was°°
perfected°°
by°
them,°
and they set°°°
the house°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
in°
his state,°
and strengthened°°
it. |

So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of Elohim in his state, and strengthened it. |

24:14
And when they had finished°°
[it], they brought°°°
the rest°
of the money°
before°
the king°
and
Yæhôyäđä`
יְהוֹיָדָע,°
whereof were made°°
vessels°
for the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
[even] vessels°
to minister,°
and to offer°°
[withal], and spoons,°
and vessels°
of gold°
and silver.°
And they offered°°°
burnt offerings°
in the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
continually°
all°
the days°
of
Yæhôyäđä`
יְהוֹיָדָע.° |

And when they had finished [it], they brought the rest of the money before the king and Yehoyada, whereof were made vessels for the house of Yahweh, [even] vessels to minister, and to offer [withal], and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of Yahweh continually all the days of Yehoyada. |

´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and toward his house.° |

And they buried him in the city of Dawid among the kings, because he had done good in Yisrael, both toward Elohim, and toward his house. |

Now after°
the death°
of
Yæhôyäđä`
יְהוֹיָדָע°
came°°
the princes°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and made obeisance°°
to the king.°
Then°
the king°
hearkened°°
unto°
them. |

Now after the death of Yehoyada came the princes of Yehudah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them. |

And they left°°°
the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of their fathers,°
and served°°°
groves°
and idols:°
and wrath°
came°
upon°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
and
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
for this°
their trespass.° |

And they left the house of Yahweh Elohim of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Yehudah and Yerushalaim for this their trespass. |

24:19
Yet he sent°°
prophets°
to them, to bring them again°°
unto°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;°
and they testified°°
against them: but they would not°
give ear.°° |

And the Spirit°

the people,°
and said°°
unto them, Thus°
saith°°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
Why°
transgress°°
ye°°
the commandments°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
that ye cannot°
prosper?°°
because°
ye have forsaken°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
he hath also forsaken°°°
you. |

And the Spirit of Elohim came upon Zekharyah the son of Yehoyada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith Elohim, Why transgress ye the commandments of Yahweh, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken Yahweh, he hath also forsaken you. |

24:21
And they conspired°°
against°
him, and stoned°°
him with stones°
at the commandment°
of the king°
in the court°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of Yahweh. |

the kindness°

his father°

to°
him, but slew°°°
his son.°
And when he died,°°
he said,°°

upon°
[it], and require°°
[it]. |

24:22
Thus Yoash the king remembered not the kindness which Yehoyada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, Yahweh look upon [it], and require [it]. |
|
24:23 ¶
And it came to pass°
at the end°
of the year,°
[that] the host°
of
´Áräm
אֲרָם°
came up°°
against°
him: and they came°°
to°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
and
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
and destroyed°°°
all°
the princes°
of the people°
from among the people,°°
and sent°°
all°
the spoil°
of them unto the king°
of
Dammäŝek
דַּמָּשֶׂק.° |

24:23 ¶
And it came to pass at the end of the year, [that] the host of Aram came up against him: and they came to Yehudah and Yerushalaim, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Dammaseq. |
|
24:24

the army°
of the
´Árammîm
אֲרַמִּים°
came°°
with a small°
company°
of men,°°
and
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
delivered°°
a very°
great°
host°
into their hand,°
because°
they had forsaken°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of their fathers.°
So they executed°°
judgment°
against°
Yô´äš
יוֹאָשׁ.° |

For the army of the Arammim came with a small company of men, and Yahweh delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken Yahweh Elohim of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Yoash. |
|
24:25
And when they were departed°°°
from°
him, (for°
they left°°
him in great°
diseases,)°
his own servants°
conspired°°
against°
him for the blood°
of the sons°
of
Yæhôyäđä`
יְהוֹיָדָע°
the priest,°
and slew°°
him on°
his bed,°
and he died:°°
and they buried°°
him in the city°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
but they buried°°
him not°
in the sepulchres°
of the kings.° |

And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Yehoyada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of Dawid, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings. |

And these are they that conspired against him; Zavad the son of Shimath an Ammonith, and Yehozavad the son of Shimrith a Moaviyyah. |

Now [concerning] his sons,°
and the greatness°°°°
of the burdens°
[laid] upon°
him, and the repairing°
of the house°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
behold,°
they [are] written°°
in°
the story°
of the book°
of the kings.°
And
´Ámaxyà
אֲמַציָה°
his son°
reigned°°
in his stead.° |

24:27 ¶
Now [concerning] his sons, and the greatness of the burdens [laid] upon him, and the repairing of the house of Elohim, behold, they [are] written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amatzyah his son reigned in his stead. |
