to the camp°

the eldest.°
So
´Áçazyà
אֲחַזיָה°
the son°
of
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°
king°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
reigned.°° |

22:1 ¶
And the inhabitants of Yerushalaim made Achazyah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Aravim to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Achazyah the son of Yehoram king of Yehudah reigned. |

Forty and two years old [was] Achazyah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Yerushalaim. His mother's name also [was] Athalyah the daughter of Omri. |

in the ways°
of the house°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב:°
for°
his mother°
was°
his counsellor°°
to do wickedly.°° |

He also walked in the ways of the house of Achav: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly. |

Wherefore he did°°
evil°
in the sight°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
like the house°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב:°
for°
they°
were°
his counsellors°°
after°
the death°
of his father°
to his destruction.° |

Wherefore he did evil in the sight of Yahweh like the house of Achav: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction. |

He walked°°
also°
after their counsel,°
and went°°°
with°

יְהוֹרָם°
the son°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב°
king°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
to war°
against°
Çázä´ël
חֲזָאֵל°
king°
of
´Áräm
אֲרָם°
at
Rämôŧ Gil`äđ
רָמוֹת־גִּלעָד:°°
and the
´Árammîm
אֲרַמִּים°°
smote°°°
Yôräm
יוֹרָם.° |

He walked also after their counsel, and went with Yehoram the son of Achav king of Yisrael to war against Chazael king of Aram at Ramoth-Gilad: and the Arammim smote Yoram. |

And he returned°°
to be healed°°
in
Yizræ`e´l
יִזרְעֶאל°
because of°
the wounds°
which°
were given°°
him at
Rämà
רָמָה,°
when he fought°°°
with
Çázä´ël
חֲזָאֵל°
king°
of
´Áräm
אֲרָם.°
And
`Ázaryà
עֲזַריָה°
the son°
of
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°
king°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
went down°°
to see°°°
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°
the son°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב°
at
Yizræ`e´l
יִזרְעֶאל,°
because°
he°
was sick.°° |

And he returned to be healed in Yizreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Chazael king of Aram. And Azaryah the son of Yehoram king of Yehudah went down to see Yehoram the son of Achav at Yizreel, because he was sick. |

And the destruction°

´Áçazyà
אֲחַזיָה°
was°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°°
by coming°°
to°
Yôräm
יוֹרָם:°
for when he was come,°°
he went out°°
with°
Yæhôräm
יְהוֹרָם°
against°
Yëhû´
יֵהוּא°
the son°
of
Nimšî
נִמשִׁי,°
whom°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had anointed°°
to cut off°°°
the house°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב.° |

22:7
And the destruction of Achazyah was of Elohim by coming to Yoram: for when he was come, he went out with Yehoram against Yehu the son of Nimshi, whom Yahweh had anointed to cut off the house of Achav. |

22:8
And it came to pass,°
that, when
Yëhû´
יֵהוּא°
was executing judgment°°
upon°
the house°
of
´Aç´äv
אַחאָב,°
and found°°°
the princes°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and the sons°
of the brethren°
of
´Áçazyà
אֲחַזיָה,°
that ministered°°
to
´Áçazyà
אֲחַזיָה,°
he slew°°
them. |

22:8
And it came to pass, that, when Yehu was executing judgment upon the house of Achav, and found the princes of Yehudah, and the sons of the brethren of Achazyah, that ministered to Achazyah, he slew them. |
|
22:9
And he sought°°°
´Áçazyà
אֲחַזיָה:°
and they caught°°
him, (for he°
was hid°°
in
Šömrôn
שֹׁמרוֹן,)°
and brought°°
him to°
Yëhû´
יֵהוּא:°
and when they had slain°°
him, they buried°°
him: Because,°
said°°
they, he°
[is] the son°
of
Yæhôšäfäţ
יְהוֹשָׁפָט,°
who°
sought°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
with all°
his heart.°
So the house°
of
´Áçazyà
אֲחַזיָה°
had no°
power°
to keep°°
still°
the kingdom.° |

22:9
And he sought Achazyah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Shomron,) and brought him to Yehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he [is] the son of Yehoshafat, who sought Yahweh with all his heart. So the house of Achazyah had no power to keep still the kingdom. |
|
22:10 ¶
But when

the mother°
of
´Áçazyà
אֲחַזיָה°
saw°°
that°
her son°
was dead,°°
she arose°°
and destroyed°°°
all°
the seed°
royal°
of the house°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה.° |

22:10 ¶
But when Athalyah the mother of Achazyah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Yehudah. |

the daughter°
of the king,°

אֲחַזיָה,°
and stole°°
him from among°°
the king's°
sons°
that were slain,°°

him and his nurse°°
in a bedchamber.°°

יְהוֹרָם,°
the wife°

Yæhôyäđä`
יְהוֹיָדָע°
the priest,°
(for°
she°
was°
the sister°

אֲחַזיָה,)°
hid°°
him from°°
`Áŧalyà
עֲתַליָה,°
so that she slew°°
him not.° |

22:11
But Yehoshavath, the daughter of the king, took Yoash the son of Achazyah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Yehoshavath, the daughter of king Yehoram, the wife of Yehoyada the priest, (for she was the sister of Achazyah,) hid him from Athalyah, so that she slew him not. |

over°

And he was with them hid in the house of Elohim six years: and Athalyah reigned over the land. |
