 4:1 ¶ The sons° of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה;° Perex פֶּרֶץ,° Çexrôn חֶצרוֹן,° and Carmî כַּרמִי,° and Çûr חוּר,° and Šôväl שׁוֹבָל.°

 4:1 ¶ The sons of Yehudah; Peretz, Chetzron, and Karmi, and Chur, and Shoval.

 4:2 And Ræ´äyà רְאָיָה° the son° of Šôväl שׁוֹבָל° begat°°° Yaçaŧ יַחַת;° and Yaçaŧ יַחַת° begat°°° ´Áçûmay אֲחוּמַי,° and Lähađ לָהַד.° These° [are] the families° of the Xär`äŧîm צָרעָתִים.°

 4:2 And Reayah the son of Shoval begat Yachath; and Yachath begat Achumay, and Lahad. These [are] the families of the Tzarathim.

 4:3 And these° [were of] the father° of `Êţäm עֵיטָם;° Yizræ`e´l יִזרְעֶאל,° and Yišmä´ יִשׁמָא,° and Yiđbäš יִדבָּשׁ:° and the name° of their sister° [was] Haxælelpônî הַצְלֶלפּוֹנִי:°

 4:3 And these [were of] the father of Etam; Yizreel, and Yishma, and Yidbash: and the name of their sister [was] Hatzelelponi:

 4:4 And Pænû´ël פְּנוּאֵל° the father° of Gæđôr גְּדוֹר,° and ´Ëxer אֵצֶר° the father° of Çûšà חוּשָׁה.° These° [are] the sons° of Çûr חוּר,° the firstborn° of ´Efräŧà אֶפרָתָה,° the father° of Bêŧ Läçem בֵּית־לָחֶם.°

 4:4 And Penuel the father of Gedor, and Etzer the father of Chushah. These [are] the sons of Chur, the firstborn of Efrathah, the father of Beth-Lachem.

 4:5 ¶ And ´Ašçûr אַשׁחוּר° the father° of Tækôå` תְּקוֹעַ° had° two° wives,° Çel´à חֶלאָה° and Na`árà נַעֲרָה.°

 4:5 ¶ And Ashchur the father of Teqoa had two wives, Chelah and Naarah.

 4:6 And Na`árà נַעֲרָה° bare°° him° ´Áçuzzäm אֲחֻזָּם,° and Çëfer חֵפֶר,° and Têmnî תֵּימנִי,° and Hä´áçaštärî הָאֲחַשׁתָּרִי.° These° [were] the sons° of Na`árà נַעֲרָה.°

 4:6 And Naarah bare him Achuzzam, and Chefer, and Temni, and Haachashtari. These [were] the sons of Naarah.

 4:7 And the sons° of Çel´à חֶלאָה° [were], Xereŧ צֶרֶת,° and Yæxöçar יְצֹחַר,°°° and ´Eŧnän אֶתנָן.°

 4:7 And the sons of Chelah [were], Tzereth, and Yetzochar, and Ethnan.

 4:8 And Kôx קוֹץ° begat°°° `Änûv עָנוּב,° and Xövëvà צֹבֵבָה,° and the families° of ´Áçarçël אֲחַרחֵל° the son° of Härûm הָרוּם.°

 4:8 And Qotz begat Anuv, and Tzovevah, and the families of Acharchel the son of Harum.

 4:9 ¶ And Ya`bëx יַעבֵּץ° was° more honourable°° than his brethren:°° and his mother° called°° his name° Ya`bëx יַעבֵּץ,° saying,°° Because° I bare°° him with sorrow.°

 4:9 ¶ And Yabetz was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Yabetz, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

 4:10 And Ya`bëx יַעבֵּץ° called°° on the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,° saying,°° Oh that° thou wouldest bless°° me indeed,°° and enlarge°°° my coast,° and that thine hand° might be° with° me, and that thou wouldest keep°° [me] from° evil,° that it may not° grieve°° me! And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° granted°° him° that which° he requested.°°

 4:10 And Yabetz called on the Elohim of Yisrael, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep [me] from evil, that it may not grieve me! And Elohim granted him that which he requested.

 4:11 ¶ And Cælûv כְּלוּב° the brother° of Šûçà שׁוּחָה° begat°°° Mæçîr מְחִיר,° which° [was] the father° of ´Eštôn אֶשׁתּוֹן.°

 4:11 ¶ And Keluv the brother of Shuchah begat Mechir, which [was] the father of Eshton.

 4:12 And ´Eštôn אֶשׁתּוֹן° begat°°° Bêŧ Räfä´ בֵּית־רָפָא,° and Päsëåç פָּסֵחַ,° and Tæçinnà תְּחִנָּה° the father° of `Îr Näçäš עִיר־נָחָשׁ.° These° [are] the men°° of Rëȼà רֵכָה.°

 4:12 And Eshton begat Beth-Rafa, and Paseach, and Techinnah the father of Ir-Nachash. These [are] the men of Rekhah.

 4:13 And the sons° of Kænaz קְנַז;° `Oŧnî´ël עָתנִיאֵל,° and Ŝæräyà שְׂרָיָה:° and the sons° of `Oŧnî´ël עָתנִיאֵל;° Çáŧaŧ חֲתַת.°

 4:13 And the sons of Qenaz; Othniel, and Serayah: and the sons of Othniel; Chathath.

 4:14 And Mæ`ônöŧay מְעוֹנֹתַי° begat°°° `Ofrà עָפרָה:° and Ŝæräyà שְׂרָיָה° begat°°° Yô´äv יוֹאָב,° the father° of the valley° of Çáräšîm חֲרָשִׁים;° for° they were° craftsmen.°°

 4:14 And Meonothay begat Ofrah: and Serayah begat Yoav, the father of the valley of Charashim; for they were craftsmen.

 4:15 And the sons° of Cälëv כָּלֵב° the son° of Yæfunnè יְפֻנֶּה;° `Îrû עִירוּ,° ´Ëlà אֵלָה,° and Nä`am נָעַם:° and the sons° of ´Ëlà אֵלָה,° even Kænaz קְנַז.°

 4:15 And the sons of Kalev the son of Yefunneh; Iru, Elah, and Naam: and the sons of Elah, even Qenaz.

 4:16 And the sons° of Yæhallel´ël יְהַלֶּלאֵל;° Zîf זִיף,° and Zîfà זִיפָה,° Tîryä´ תִּיריָא,° and ´Áŝar´ël אֲשַׂראֵל.°

 4:17 And the sons of Ezrah [were], Yether, and Mered, and Efer, and Yalon: and she bare Miryam, and Shammay, and Yishbach the father of Eshtemoa.

 4:18 And his wife° Yæhuđiyyà יְהֻדִיָּה° bare°°° Yeređ יֶרֶד° the father° of Gæđôr גְּדוֹר,° and Çever חֶבֶר° the father° of Ŝôȼô שׂוֹכוֹ,° and Yækûŧî´ël יְקוּתִיאֵל° the father° of Zänôåç זָנוֹחַ.° And these° [are] the sons° of Biŧyà בִּתיָה° the daughter° of Par`ò פַּרעֹה,° which° Meređ מֶרֶד° took.°°

 4:18 And his wife Yehudiyyah bare Yered the father of Gedor, and Chever the father of Sokho, and Yequthiel the father of Zanoach. And these [are] the sons of Bithyah the daughter of Paroh, which Mered took.

 4:19 And the sons° of [his] wife° Hôđiyyà הוֹדִיָּה° the sister° of Naçam נַחַם,° the father° of Kæ`îlà קְעִילָה° the Garmî גַּרמִי,° and ´Eštæmöå` אֶשׁתְּמֹעַ° the Ma`áȼäŧî מַעֲכָתִי.°

 4:19 And the sons of [his] wife Hodiyyah the sister of Nacham, the father of Qeilah the Garmi, and Eshtemoa the Maakhathi.

 4:20 And the sons° of Šîmôn שִׁימוֹן° [were], ´Amnôn אַמנוֹן,° and Rinnà רִנָּה,° Ben Çänän בֶּן־חָנָן,° and Tîlôn תִּילוֹן.° And the sons° of Yiš`î יִשׁעִי° [were], Zôçëŧ זוֹחֵת,° and Ben Zôçëŧ בֶּן־זוֹחֵת.°

 4:20 And the sons of Shimon [were], Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-Chanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Yishi [were], Zocheth, and Ben-Zocheth.

 4:21 ¶ The sons° of Šëlà שֵׁלָה° the son° of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה° [were], `Ër עֵר° the father° of Lëȼà לֵכָה,° and La`dà לַעדָּה° the father° of Märë´šà מָרֵאשָׁה,° and the families° of the house° of them that wrought° fine linen,° of the house° of ´Ašbëå` אַשׁבֵּעַ,°

 4:21 ¶ The sons of Shelah the son of Yehudah [were], Er the father of Lekhah, and Ladah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea,

 4:22 And Yôkîm יוֹקִים,° and the men°° of Cözëvä´ כֹּזֵבָא,° and Yô´äš יוֹאָשׁ,° and Ŝäräf שָׂרָף,° who° had the dominion°° in Mô´äv מוֹאָב,° and Yäšuvî Läçem יָשֻׁבִי־לָחֶם.° And [these are] ancient° things.°

 4:22 And Yoqim, and the men of Kozeva, and Yoash, and Saraf, who had the dominion in Moav, and Yashuvi-Lachem. And [these are] ancient things.

 4:23 These° [were] the potters,°° and those that dwelt°° among plants° and hedges:° there° they dwelt°° with° the king° for his work.°

 4:24 ¶ The sons of Shimon [were], Nemuel, and Yamin, Yariv, Zerach, [and] Shaul:

 4:25 Šallûm שַׁלּוּם° his son,° Mivŝäm מִבשָׂם° his son,° Mišmä` מִשׁמָע° his son.°

 4:25 Shallum his son, Mivsam his son, Mishma his son.

 4:26 And the sons° of Mišmä` מִשׁמָע;° Çammû´ël חַמּוּאֵל° his son,° Zaccûr זַכּוּר° his son,° Šim`î שִׁמעִי° his son.°

 4:26 And the sons of Mishma; Chammuel his son, Zakkur his son, Shimi his son.

 4:27 And Šim`î שִׁמעִי° had sixteen°° sons° and six° daughters;° but his brethren° had not° many° children,° neither° did all° their family° multiply,°° like to° the children° of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה.°

 4:27 And Shimi had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply, like to the children of Yehudah.

 4:28 And they dwelt°° at Bæ´ër Ševa` בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע,° and Môläđà מוֹלָדָה,° and Çáxar Šû`äl חֲצַר־שׁוּעָל,°

 4:28 And they dwelt at Beer-Sheva, and Moladah, and Chatzar-Shual,

 4:29 And at Bilhà בִּלהָה,° and at `Exem עֶצֶם,° and at Tôläđ תּוֹלָד,°

 4:30 And at Bæŧû´ël בְּתוּאֵל,° and at Çormà חָרמָה,° and at Xîklaq צִיקלַג,°

 4:31 And at Beth-Markavoth, and Chatzar-Susim, and at Beth-Biri, and at Shaarayim. These [were] their cities unto the reign of Dawid.

 4:32 And their villages° [were], `Êţäm עֵיטָם,° and `Ayin עַיִן,° Rimmôn רִמּוֹן,° and Töȼen תֹּכֶן,° and `Äšän עָשָׁן,° five° cities:°

 4:33 And all° their villages° that° [were] round about° the same° cities,° unto° Bä`al בָּעַל.° These° [were] their habitations,° and their genealogy.°°

 4:34 And Meshovav, and Yamlekh, and Yoshah the son of Amatzyah,

 4:35 And Yô´ël יוֹאֵל,° and Yëhû´ יֵהוּא° the son° of Yôšivyà יוֹשִׁביָה,° the son° of Ŝæräyà שְׂרָיָה,° the son° of `Áŝî´ël עֲשִׂיאֵל,°

 4:37 And Zîzä´ זִיזָא° the son° of Šif`î שִׁפעִי,° the son° of ´Allôn אַלּוֹן,° the son° of Yæđäyà יְדָיָה,° the son° of Šimrî שִׁמרִי,° the son° of Šæma`yà שְׁמַעיָה;°

 4:37 And Ziza the son of Shifi, the son of Allon, the son of Yedayah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemayah;

 4:38 These° mentioned°° by [their] names° [were] princes° in their families:° and the house° of their fathers° increased°° greatly.°

 4:41 And these written by name came in the days of Chizqiyyah king of Yehudah, and smote their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because [there was] pasture there for their flocks.

 4:42 And [some] of° them, [even] of° the sons° of Šim`ôn שִׁמעוֹן,° five° hundred° men,°° went°° to mount° Ŝë`îr שֵׂעִיר,° having for their captains° Pælaţyà פְּלַטיָה,° and Næ`aryà נְעַריָה,° and Ræfäyà רְפָיָה,° and `Uzzî´ël עֻזִּיאֵל,° the sons° of Yiš`î יִשׁעִי.°

 4:42 And [some] of them, [even] of the sons of Shimon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatyah, and Nearyah, and Refayah, and Uzziel, the sons of Yishi.

 4:43 And they smote°°° the rest° of the `Ámälëkîm עֲמָלֵקִים° that were escaped,° and dwelt°° there° unto° this° day.°
