14:1 ¶
Now Chiram king of Tzor sent messengers to Dawid, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house. |

that°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had confirmed°°
him king°
over°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
for°
his kingdom°
was lifted up°°
on high,°
because of°
his people°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

14:2
And Dawid perceived that Yahweh had confirmed him king over Yisrael, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Yisrael. |
|
14:3 ¶
And

wives°
at
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם:°
and
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
begat°°
more°
sons°
and daughters.° |

And Dawid took more wives at Yerushalaim: and Dawid begat more sons and daughters. |

Now these°
[are] the names°
of [his] children°°
which°
he had°
in
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם;°

שַׁמּוּעַ,°
and
Šôväv
שׁוֹבָב,°
Näŧän
נָתָן,°
and
Šælömò
שְׁלֹמֹה,° |

Now these [are] the names of [his] children which he had in Yerushalaim; Shammua, and Shovav, Nathan, and Shelomoh, |

בְּעֶליָדָע,°

And Elishama, and Beelyada, and Elifalet. |

And when the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
heard°°
that°
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
was anointed°°
king°
over°
all°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
all°
the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
went up°°
to seek°°°
Däwiđ
דָּוִד.°
And
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
heard°°
[of it], and went out°°
against°
them. |

And when the Pelishtim heard that Dawid was anointed king over all Yisrael, all the Pelishtim went up to seek Dawid. And Dawid heard [of it], and went out against them. |

And the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
came°°
and spread°°
themselves in the valley°
of
Ræfä´îm
רְפָאִים.° |

14:9
And the Pelishtim came and spread themselves in the valley of Refaim. |

14:10
And
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
enquired°°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
saying,°°
Shall I go up°°
against°
the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים?°
and wilt thou deliver°°
them into mine hand?°
And
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
said°°
unto him, Go up;°°
for I will deliver°°
them into thine hand.° |

And Dawid enquired of Elohim, saying, Shall I go up against the Pelishtim? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And Yahweh said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand. |

So they came up°°
to
Ba`al Pæräxîm
בַּעַל־פְּרָצִים;°
and
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
smote°°
them there.°
Then
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
said,°°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
hath broken in°°°
upon mine enemies°°
by mine hand°
like the breaking forth°
of waters:°
therefore°°
they called°°
the name°
of that°
place°
Ba`al Pæräxîm
בַּעַל־פְּרָצִים.° |

So they came up to Baal-Peratzim; and Dawid smote them there. Then Dawid said, Elohim hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-Peratzim. |

And when they had left°°°
their

אֱלֹהִים°
there,°
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
gave a commandment,°°
and they were burned°°
with fire.° |

And when they had left their elohim there, Dawid gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire. |

14:13
And the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
yet°
again°°
spread themselves abroad°°
in the valley.° |
|
14:13
And the Pelishtim yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley. |
|
14:14
Therefore
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
enquired°°
again°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים;°
and
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
said°°
unto him, Go not up°°°
after°
them; turn away°°
from°°
them, and come°°
upon them over against°°
the mulberry trees.° |

14:14
Therefore Dawid enquired again of Elohim; and Elohim said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. |
|
14:15
And it shall be,°
when thou shalt hear°°°
a sound°
of going°
in the tops°
of the mulberry trees,°
[that] then°
thou shalt go out°°
to battle:°
for°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
is gone forth°°
before°
thee to smite°°°
the host°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים.° |

14:15
And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, [that] then thou shalt go out to battle: for Elohim is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Pelishtim. |

commanded°°
him: and they smote°°°
the host°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
from
Giv`ôn
גִּבעוֹן°°
even to°
Gäzer
גָּזֶר.° |

Dawid therefore did as Elohim commanded him: and they smote the host of the Pelishtim from Givon even to Gazer. |
|
14:17
And the fame°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
went out°°
into all°
lands;°
and
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
brought°°°
the fear°
of him upon°
all°
nations.° |

14:17
And the fame of Dawid went out into all lands; and Yahweh brought the fear of him upon all nations. |
