2 Chronicles 7

1 God having given testimony to Solomon's prayer by fire from heaven, and glory in the Temple, the people worship him. 4 Solomon's solemn sacrifice. 8 Solomon having kept the feast of Tabernacles, and the feast of the dedication of the altar, dismisseth the people. 12 God appearing to Solomon giveth him promises upon condition.

 7:1 Now when Solomon 8010 had finished 3615 praying 6419, fire 784 came 3381 down 3381 from heaven 8064 and consumed 398 the burnt 5930a offering 5930a and the sacrifices 2077, and the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 filled 4390 the house 1004.

 7:2 The priests 3548 could 3201 not enter 935 into the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 because 3588 the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 filled 4390 the LORD’S 3068 house 1004.

 7:3 All 3605 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, seeing 7200 the fire 784 come 3381 down 3381 and the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 upon the house 1004, bowed 3766 down 3766 on the pavement 7531b with their faces 639 to the ground 776, and they worshiped 7812 and gave 3034 praise 3034 to the LORD 3068, [saying], “Truly 3588 He is good 2896a, truly 3588 His lovingkindness 2617a is everlasting 5769.”

 7:4 ¶ Then the king 4428 and all 3605 the people 5971a offered 2076 sacrifice 2077 before 6440 the LORD 3068.

 7:5 King 4428 Solomon 8010 offered 2076 a sacrifice 2077 of 22,000 6242 8147 505 oxen 1241 and 120,000 3967 6242 505 sheep 6629. Thus the king 4428 and all 3605 the people 5971a dedicated 2596 the house 1004 of God 430.

 7:6 The priests 3548 stood 5975 at their posts 4931, and the Levites 3881 also, with the instruments 3627 of music 7892a to the LORD 3068, which 834 King 4428 David 1732 had made 6213a for giving 3034 praise 3034 to the LORD 3068—“for His lovingkindness 2617a is everlasting 5769”—whenever he gave 3034 praise 1984b by their means 3027, while the priests 3548 on the other 5048 side 5048 blew 2690 trumpets 2690; and all 3605 Israel 3478 was standing 5975.

 7:7 ¶ Then Solomon 8010 consecrated 6942 the middle 8432 of the court 2691a that [was] before 6440 the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, for there 8033 he offered 6213a the burnt 5930a offerings 5930a and the fat 2459 of the peace 8002 offerings 8002 because 3588 the bronze 5178 altar 4196 which 834 Solomon 8010 had made 6213a was not able 3201 to contain 3557 the burnt 5930a offering 5930a, the grain offering 4503 and the fat 2459.

 7:8 ¶ So Solomon 8010 observed 6213a the feast 2282 at that time 6256 for seven 7651 days 3117, and all 3605 Israel 3478 with him, a very 3966 great 1419 assembly 6951 [who came] from the entrance 935 of Hamath 2574 to the brook 5158a of Egypt 4714.

 7:9 On the eighth 8066 day 3117 they held 6213a a solemn 6116 assembly 6116, for the dedication 2598 of the altar 4196 they observed 6213a seven 7651 days 3117 and the feast 2282 seven 7651 days 3117.

 7:10 Then on the twenty-third 6242 7969 day 3117 of the seventh 7637 month 2320 he sent 7971 the people 5971a to their tents 168, rejoicing 8056 and happy 2896a of heart 3820 because 5921 of the goodness 2899b that the LORD 3068 had shown 6213a to David 1732 and to Solomon 8010 and to His people 5971a Israel 3478.

 7:11 ¶ Thus Solomon 8010 finished 3615 the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and the king’s 4428 palace 1004, and successfully 6743b completed 6743b all 3605 that he had planned 935 5921 3820 on doing 6213a in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and in his palace 1004.

 7:12 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 to Solomon 8010 at night 3915 and said 559 to him, “I have heard 8085 your prayer 8605 and have chosen 977 this 2088 place 4725 for Myself as a house 1004 of sacrifice 2077.

 7:13 “If 2005 I shut 6113 up the heavens 8064 so that there is no 3808 rain 4306, or if 2005 I command 6680 the locust 2284 to devour 398 the land 776, or if 518 I send 7971 pestilence 1698 among My people 5971a,

 7:14 and My people 5971a who 834 are called 7121 by My name 8034 humble 3665 themselves and pray 6419 and seek 1245 My face 6440 and turn 7725 from their wicked 7451a ways 1870, then I will hear 8085 from heaven 8064, will forgive 5545 their sin 2403b and will heal 7495 their land 776.

 7:15 “Now 6258 My eyes 5869 will be open 6605a and My ears 241 attentive 7183b to the prayer 8605 [offered] in this 2088 place 4725.

 7:16 “For now 6258 I have chosen 977 and consecrated 6942 this 2088 house 1004 that My name 8034 may be there 8033 forever 5704 5769, and My eyes 5869 and My heart 3820 will be there 8033 perpetually 3605 3117.

 7:17 “As for you, if 518 you walk 1980 before 6440 Me as your father 1 David 1732 walked 1980, even to do 6213a according to all 3605 that I have commanded 6680 you, and will keep 8104 My statutes 2706 and My ordinances 4941,

 7:18 then I will establish 6965 your royal 4438 throne 3678 as I covenanted 3772 with your father 1 David 1732, saying 559, ‘You shall not lack 3772 a man 376 [to be] ruler 4910 in Israel 3478.’

 7:19 ¶ “But if 518 you turn 7725 away 7725 and forsake 5800a My statutes 2708 and My commandments 4687 which 834 I have set 5414 before 6440 you, and go 1980 and serve 5647 other 312 gods 430 and worship 7812 them,

 7:20 then I will uproot 5428 you from My land 127 which 834 I have given 5414 you, and this 2088 house 1004 which 834 I have consecrated 6942 for My name 8034 I will cast 7993 out of My sight 6440 and I will make 5414 it a proverb 4912 and a byword 8148 among all 3605 peoples 5971a.

 7:21 “As for this 2088 house 1004, which 834 was exalted 5945a, everyone 3605 who passes 5674a by it will be astonished 8074 and say 559, ‘Why 4100 has the LORD 3068 done 6213a thus 3602 to this 2088 land 776 and to this 2088 house 1004?’

 7:22 “And they will say 559, ‘Because 5921 834 they forsook 5800a the LORD 3068, the God 430 of their fathers 1 who 834 brought 3318 them from the land 776 of Egypt 4714, and they adopted 2388 other 312 gods 430 and worshiped 7812 them and served 5647 them; therefore 5921 3651 He has brought 935 all 3605 this 2088 adversity 7463a on them.’”
