2 Chronicles 33

1 Manasseh's wicked reign. 3 He setteth up idolatry, and would not be admonished. 11 He is carried into Babylon. 12 Upon his prayer to God he is released, and putteth down idolatry. 18 His acts. 20 He dying, Amon succeedeth him. 21 Amon reigning wickedly is slain by his servants. 25 The murderers being slain, Josiah succeedeth him.

 33:1 Manasseh 4519 was twelve 8147 6240 years 8141 old 1121 when he became 4427a king 4427a, and he reigned 4427a fifty-five 2572 years 8141 in Jerusalem 3389.

 33:2 He did 6213a evil 7451a in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068 according to the abominations 8441 of the nations 1471 whom 834 the LORD 3068 dispossessed 3423 before 4480 6440 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.

 33:3 For he rebuilt 7725 1129 the high 1116 places 1116 which 834 Hezekiah 2396 his father 1 had broken 5422 down 5422; he also erected 6965 altars 4196 for the Baals 1168a and made 6213a Asherim 842, and worshiped 7812 all 3605 the host 6635 of heaven 8064 and served 5647 them.

 33:4 He built 1129 altars 4196 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 of which 834 the LORD 3068 had said 559, “My name 8034 shall be in Jerusalem 3389 forever 5769.”

 33:5 For he built 1129 altars 4196 for all 3605 the host 6635 of heaven 8064 in the two 8147 courts 2691a of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068.

 33:6 He made his sons 1121 pass 5674a through the fire 784 in the valley 1516 of Ben-hinnom 1121 2011; and he practiced 6049a witchcraft 6049a, used 5172 divination 5172, practiced 3784 sorcery 3784 and dealt 6213a with mediums 178 and spiritists 3049. He did 6213a much 7235a evil 7451a in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068, provoking 3707 Him [to anger].

 33:7 Then he put 7760 the carved 6459 image 6459 of the idol 5566 which 834 he had made 6213a in the house 1004 of God 430, of which 834 God 430 had said 559 to David 1732 and to Solomon 8010 his son 1121, “In this 2088 house 1004 and in Jerusalem 3389, which 834 I have chosen 977 from all 3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel 3478, I will put 7760 My name 8034 forever 5769;

 33:8 and I will not again 3254 remove 5493 the foot 7272 of Israel 3478 from the land 127 which 834 I have appointed 5975 for your fathers 1, if 518 only 7534 they will observe 8104 to do 6213a all 3605 that I have commanded 6680 them according to all 3605 the law 8451, the statutes 2706 and the ordinances 4941 [given] through 3027 Moses 4872.”

 33:9 Thus Manasseh 4519 misled 8582 Judah 3063 and the inhabitants 3427 of Jerusalem 3389 to do 6213a more 4480 evil 7451b than 4480 the nations 1471 whom 834 the LORD 3068 destroyed 8045 before 4480 6440 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.

 33:10 ¶ The LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Manasseh 4519 and his people 5971a, but they paid 7181 no 3808 attention 7181.

 33:11 Therefore the LORD 3068 brought 935 the commanders 8269 of the army 6635 of the king 4428 of Assyria 804b against 5921 them, and they captured 3920 Manasseh 4519 with hooks 2336, bound 631 him with bronze 5178 [chains] and took 1980 him to Babylon 894.

 33:12 When he was in distress 6887a, he entreated 2470b the LORD 3068 his God 430 and humbled 3665 himself greatly 3966 before 4480 6440 the God 430 of his fathers 1.

 33:13 When he prayed 6419 to Him, He was moved 6279 by his entreaty 6279 and heard 8085 his supplication 8467, and brought 7725 him again 7725 to Jerusalem 3389 to his kingdom 4438. Then Manasseh 4519 knew 3045 that the LORD 3068 [was] God 430.

 33:14 ¶ Now after 310 this 3651 he built 1129 the outer 2435 wall 2346 of the city 5892b of David 1732 on the west 4628 side 4628 of Gihon 1521, in the valley 5158a, even to the entrance 935 of the Fish 1709 Gate 8179; and he encircled 5437 the Ophel 6077 [with it] and made 1361b it very 3966 high 1361b. Then he put 7760 army 2428 commanders 8269 in all 3605 the fortified 1219 cities 5892b of Judah 3063.

 33:15 He also removed 5493 the foreign 5236 gods 430 and the idol 5566 from the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, as well as all 3605 the altars 4196 which 834 he had built 1129 on the mountain 2022 of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and in Jerusalem 3389, and he threw 7993 [them] outside 2351 the city 5892b.

 33:16 He set 3559 up the altar 4196 of the LORD 3068 and sacrificed 2076 peace 8002 offerings 8002 and thank 8426 offerings 8426 on it; and he ordered 559 Judah 3063 to serve 5647 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478.

 33:17 Nevertheless 61 the people 5971a still 5750 sacrificed 2076 in the high 1116 places 1116, [although] only 7534 to the LORD 3068 their God 430.

 33:18 ¶ Now the rest 3499a of the acts 1697 of Manasseh 4519 even his prayer 8605 to his God 430, and the words 1697 of the seers 2374 who spoke 1696 to him in the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478, behold 2009, they are among 5921 the records 1697 of the kings 4428 of Israel 3478.

 33:19 His prayer 8605 also and [how God] was entreated 6279 by him, and all 3605 his sin 2403b, his unfaithfulness 4604, and the sites 4725 on which 834 he built 1129 high 1116 places 1116 and erected 5975 the Asherim 842 and the carved 6456 images 6456, before 6440 he humbled 3665 himself, behold 2009, they are written 3789 in the records 1697 of the Hozai 2335.

 33:20 So Manasseh 4519 slept 7901 with his fathers 1, and they buried 6912 him in his own house 1004. And Amon 526 his son 1121 became 4427a king 4427a in his place 8478.

 33:21 ¶ Amon 526 [was] twenty-two 6242 8147 years 8141 old 1121 when he became 4427a king 4427a, and he reigned 4427a two 8147 years 8141 in Jerusalem 3389.

 33:22 He did 6213a evil 7451a in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068 as Manasseh 4519 his father 1 had done 6213a, and Amon 526 sacrificed 2076 to all 3605 the carved 6456 images 6456 which 834 his father 1 Manasseh 4519 had made 6213a, and he served 5647 them.

 33:23 Moreover, he did not humble 3665 himself before 4480 6440 the LORD 3068 as his father 1 Manasseh 4519 had done 3665, but Amon 526 multiplied 7235a guilt 819.

 33:24 Finally his servants 5650 conspired 7194 against 5921 him and put 4191 him to death 4191 in his own house 1004.

 33:25 But the people 5971a of the land 776 killed 5221 all 3605 the conspirators 7194 against 5921 King 4428 Amon 526, and the people 5971a of the land 776 made 4427a Josiah 2977 his son 1121 king 4427a in his place 8478.
