1 The solemn offering of Solomon at Gibeon. 7 Solomon's choice of wisdom is blessed by God. 13 Solomon's strength and wealth.

 1:1 Now Solomon 8010 the son 1121 of David 1732 established 2388 himself securely 2388 over 5921 his kingdom 4438, and the LORD 3068 his God 430 [was] with him and exalted 1431 him greatly 4605.

 1:2 ¶ Solomon 8010 spoke 559 to all 3605 Israel 3478, to the commanders 8269 of thousands 505 and of hundreds 3967 and to the judges 8199 and to every 3605 leader 5387a in all 3605 Israel 3478, the heads 7218 of the fathers’ 1 [households].

 1:3 Then Solomon 8010 and all 3605 the assembly 6951 with him went 1980 to the high 1116 place 1116 which 834 was at Gibeon 1391, for God’s 430 tent 168 of meeting 4150 was there 8033, which 834 Moses 4872 the servant 5650 of the LORD 3068 had made 6213a in the wilderness 4057b.

 1:4 However 61, David 1732 had brought 5927 up the ark 727 of God 430 from Kiriath-jearim 7157 to the place he had prepared 3559 for it, for he had pitched 5186 a tent 168 for it in Jerusalem 3389.

 1:5 Now the bronze 5178 altar 4196, which 834 Bezalel 1212 the son 1121 of Uri 221, the son 1121 of Hur 2354, had made 6213a, was there 8033 before 6440 the tabernacle 4908 of the LORD 3068, and Solomon 8010 and the assembly 6951 sought 1875 it out.

 1:6 Solomon 8010 went 5927 up there 8033 before 6440 the LORD 3068 to the bronze 5178 altar 4196 which 834 [was] at the tent 168 of meeting 4150, and offered 5927 a thousand 505 burnt 5930a offerings 5930a on it.

 1:7 ¶ In that night 3915 God 430 appeared 7200 to Solomon 8010 and said 559 to him, “Ask 7592 what 4100 I shall give 5414 you.”

 1:8 Solomon 8010 said 559 to God 430, “You have dealt 6213a with my father 1 David 1732 with great 1419 lovingkindness 2617a, and have made 4427a me king 4427a in his place 8478.

 1:9 “Now 6258, O LORD 3068 God 430, Your promise 1697 to my father 1 David 1732 is fulfilled 539, for You have made 4427a me king 4427a over 5921 a people 5971a as numerous 7227a as the dust 6083 of the earth 776.

 1:10 “Give 5414 me now 6258 wisdom 2451 and knowledge 4093, that I may go 3318 out and come 935 in before 6440 this 2088 people 5971a, for who 4310 can rule 8199 this 2088 great 1419 people 5971a of Yours?”

 1:11 God 430 said 559 to Solomon 8010, “Because 3282 834 you had 1961 this 2088 in mind 3824, and did not ask 7592 for riches 6239, wealth 5233 or honor 3519b, or the life 5315 of those who hate 8130 you, nor 3808 have you even 1571 asked 7592 for long 7227a life 3117, but you have asked 7592 for yourself wisdom 2451 and knowledge 4093 that you may rule 8199 My people 5971a over 5921 whom 834 I have made 4427a you king 4427a,

 1:12 wisdom 2451 and knowledge 4093 have been granted 5414 to you. And I will give 5414 you riches 6239 and wealth 5233 and honor 3519b, such 834 3651 as none 3808 of the kings 4428 who 834 were before 6440 you has possessed 1961 3651 nor 3808 those who will come after 310 you.”

 1:13 So Solomon 8010 went 935 from the high 1116 place 1116 which 834 was at Gibeon 1391, from the tent 168 of meeting 4150, to Jerusalem 3389, and he reigned 4427a over 5921 Israel 3478.

 1:14 ¶ Solomon 8010 amassed 622 chariots 7393 and horsemen 6571b. He had 1961 1,400 505 702 3967 chariots 7393 and 12,000 8147 6240 505 horsemen 6571b, and he stationed 5117 them in the chariot 7393 cities 5892b and with the king 4428 at Jerusalem 3389.

 1:15 The king 4428 made 5414 silver 3701 and gold 2091 as plentiful 7230 in Jerusalem 3389 as stones 68, and he made 5414 cedars 730 as plentiful 7230 as sycamores 8256 in the lowland 8219.

 1:16 Solomon’s 8010 horses 5483b were imported 4161 from Egypt 4714 and from Kue 6961b; the king’s 4428 traders 5503 procured 3947 them from Kue 6961b for a price 4242.

 1:17 They imported 5927 3318 chariots 4818 from Egypt 4714 for 600 8337a 3967 [shekels] of silver 3701 apiece and horses 5483b for 150 2572 3967 apiece, and by the same 3651 means 3651 3027 they exported 3318 them to all 3605 the kings 4428 of the Hittites 2850 and the kings 4428 of Aram 758.
