2 Chronicles 31

1 The people is forward in destroying idolatry. 2 Hezekiah ordereth the courses of the priests and Levites, and provideth for their work and maintenance. 5 The people's forwardness in offerings and tithes. 11 Hezekiah appointeth officers to dispose of the tithes. 20 The sincerety of Hezekiah.

 31:1 Now when all 3605 this 2088 was finished 3615, all 3605 Israel 3478 who were present 4672 went 3318 out to the cities 5892b of Judah 3063, broke 7665 the pillars 4676 in pieces 7665, cut 1438 down 1438 the Asherim 842 and pulled 5422 down 5422 the high 1116 places 1116 and the altars 4196 throughout 4480 all 3605 Judah 3063 and Benjamin 1144, as well as in Ephraim 669 and Manasseh 4519, until 5704 they had destroyed 3615 them all 3615. Then all 3605 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 returned 7725 to their cities 5892b, each 376 to his possession 272.

 31:2 ¶ And Hezekiah 2396 appointed 5975 the divisions 4256 of the priests 3548 and the Levites 3881 by their divisions 4256, each 376 according 6310 to his service 5656, [both] the priests 3548 and the Levites 3881, for burnt 5930a offerings 5930a and for peace 8002 offerings 8002, to minister 8334 and to give 3034 thanks 3034 and to praise 1984b in the gates 8179 of the camp 4264 of the LORD 3068.

 31:3 [He] also [appointed] the king’s 4428 portion 4521 of his goods 7399 for the burnt 5930a offerings 5930a, [namely], for the morning 1242 and evening 6153 burnt 5930a offerings 5930a, and the burnt 5930a offerings 5930a for the sabbaths 7676 and for the new 2320 moons 2320 and for the fixed 4150 festivals 4150, as it is written 3789 in the law 8451 of the LORD 3068.

 31:4 Also he commanded 559 the people 5971a who lived 3427 in Jerusalem 3389 to give 5414 the portion 4521 due to the priests 3548 and the Levites 3881, that they might devote 2388 themselves to the law 8451 of the LORD 3068.

 31:5 As soon as the order 1697 spread 6555, the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 provided 7235a in abundance 7235a the first 7225 fruits 7225 of grain 1715, new 8492 wine 8492, oil 3323, honey 1706 and of all 3605 the produce 8393 of the field 7704; and they brought 935 in abundantly 7230 the tithe 4643 of all 3605.

 31:6 The sons 1121 of Israel 3478 and Judah 3063 who lived 3427 in the cities 5892b of Judah 3063 also 1571 brought 935 in the tithe 4643 of oxen 1241 and sheep 6629, and the tithe 4643 of sacred 6944 gifts 6944 which were consecrated 6942 to the LORD 3068 their God 430, and placed 5414 [them] in heaps 6194.

 31:7 In the third 7992 month 2320 they began 2490c to make 3245 the heaps 6194, and finished 3615 [them] by the seventh 7637 month 2320.

 31:8 When Hezekiah 2396 and the rulers 8269 came 935 and saw 7200 the heaps 6194, they blessed 1288 the LORD 3068 and His people 5971a Israel 3478.

 31:9 Then Hezekiah 2396 questioned 1875 the priests 3548 and the Levites 3881 concerning 5921 the heaps 6194.

 31:10 Azariah 5838 the chief 7218 priest 3548 of the house 1004 of Zadok 6659 said 559 to him, “Since 4480 the contributions 8641 began 2490c to be brought 935 into the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, we have had enough 7646 to eat 398 with plenty 7230 left 3498 over 3498, for the LORD 3068 has blessed 1288 His people 5971a, and this 2088 great 1995 quantity 1995 is left 3498 over 3498.”

 31:11 ¶ Then Hezekiah 2396 commanded 559 [them] to prepare 3559 rooms 3957 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, and they prepared 3559 [them].

 31:12 They faithfully 530 brought 935 in the contributions 8641 and the tithes 4643 and the consecrated 6944 things 6944; and Conaniah 3562 the Levite 3881 [was] the officer 5057 in charge 5921 of them and his brother 251 Shimei 8096 [was] second 4932.

 31:13 Jehiel 3171, Azaziah 5812, Nahath 5184, Asahel 6214, Jerimoth 3406, Jozabad 3107, Eliel 447, Ismachiah 3253, Mahath 4287 and Benaiah 1141 [were] overseers 6496 under 4480 the authority 3027 of Conaniah 3562 and Shimei 8096 his brother 251 by the appointment 4662 of King 4428 Hezekiah 2396, and Azariah 5838 [was] the [chief] officer 5057 of the house 1004 of God 430.

 31:14 Kore 6981 the son 1121 of Imnah 3232 the Levite 3881, the keeper 7778 of the eastern 4217 [gate, was] over 5921 the freewill 5071 offerings 5071 of God 430, to apportion 5414 the contributions 8641 for the LORD 3068 and the most 6944 holy 6944 things 6944.

 31:15 Under 5921 his authority 3027 [were] Eden 5730b, Miniamin 4509, Jeshua 3091, Shemaiah 8098, Amariah 568 and Shecaniah 7935 in the cities 5892b of the priests 3548, to distribute 5414 faithfully 530 [their portions] to their brothers 251 by divisions 4256, whether great 1419 or small 6996a,

 31:16 without 4480 905 regard to their genealogical 3187 enrollment 3187, to the males 2145 from thirty 7969 years 8141 old 1121 and upward 4605—everyone 3605 who entered 935 the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 for his daily 3117 obligations 1697—for their work 5656 in their duties 4931 according to their divisions 4256;

 31:17 as well as the priests 3548 who were enrolled 3187 genealogically 3187 according to their fathers’ 1 households 1004, and the Levites 3881 from twenty 6242 years 8141 old 1121 and upwards 4605, by their duties 4931 [and] their divisions 4256.

 31:18 The genealogical 3187 enrollment 3187 [included] all 3605 their little 2945 children 2945, their wives 802, their sons 1121 and their daughters 1323, for the whole 3605 assembly 6951, for they consecrated 6942 themselves faithfully 530 in holiness 6944.

 31:19 Also for the sons 1121 of Aaron 175 the priests 3548 [who were] in the pasture 4054 lands 7704 of their cities 5892b, or in each 5892b and every 3605 city 5892b, [there were] men 376 who 834 were designated 5344a by name 8034 to distribute 5414 portions 4490 to every 3605 male 2145 among the priests 3548 and to everyone 3605 genealogically 3187 enrolled 3187 among the Levites 3881.

 31:20 ¶ Thus 2088 Hezekiah 2396 did 6213a throughout all 3605 Judah 3063; and he did 6213a what 2896a [was] good 2896a, right 3477 and true 571 before 6440 the LORD 3068 his God 430.

 31:21 Every 3605 work 4639 which 834 he began 2490c in the service 5656 of the house 1004 of God 430 in law 8451 and in commandment 4687, seeking 1875 his God 430, he did 6213a with all 3605 his heart 3824 and prospered 6743b.
