2 Chronicles 19

1 Jehoshaphat, reproved by Jehu, visiteth his kingdom. 5 His instructions to the judges, 8 to the priests and Levites.

 19:1 Then Jehoshaphat 3092 the king 4428 of Judah 3063 returned 7725 in safety 7965 to his house 1004 in Jerusalem 3389.

 19:2 Jehu 3058 the son 1121 of Hanani 2607 the seer 2374 went 3318 out to meet 6440 him and said 559 to King 4428 Jehoshaphat 3092, “Should you help 5826 the wicked 7563 and love 157 those who hate 8130 the LORD 3068 and so 2088 [bring] wrath 7110a on yourself from the LORD 3068?

 19:3 “But there 4672 is [some] good 2896a in you, for you have removed 1197a the Asheroth 842 from the land 776 and you have set 3559 your heart 3824 to seek 1875 God 430.”

 19:4 ¶ So Jehoshaphat 3092 lived 3427 in Jerusalem 3389 and went 3318 out again 7725 among the people 5971a from Beersheba 884 to the hill 2022 country 2022 of Ephraim 669 and brought 7725 them back 7725 to the LORD 3068, the God 430 of their fathers 1.

 19:5 He appointed 5975 judges 8199 in the land 776 in all 3605 the fortified 1219 cities 5892b of Judah 3063, city 5892b by city 5892b.

 19:6 He said 559 to the judges 8199, “Consider 7200 what 4100 you are doing 6213a, for you do not judge 8199 for man 120 but for the LORD 3068 who is with you when you render 1697 judgment 4941.

 19:7 “Now 6258 then let the fear 6343 of the LORD 3068 be upon you; be very careful 8104 what you do 6213a, for the LORD 3068 our God 430 will have 369 no 369 part in unrighteousness 5767b or partiality 5375 6440 or the taking 4727 of a bribe 7810.”

 19:8 ¶ In Jerusalem 3389 also 1571 Jehoshaphat 3092 appointed 5975 some 4480 of the Levites 3881 and priests 3548, and some 4480 of the heads 7218 of the fathers’ 1 [households] of Israel 3478, for the judgment 4941 of the LORD 3068 and to judge 7378 disputes 7379 among the inhabitants 3427 of Jerusalem 3389.

 19:9 Then he charged 6680 them saying 559, “Thus 3541 you shall do 6213a in the fear 3374 of the LORD 3068, faithfully 530 and wholeheartedly 3824 8003.

 19:10 “Whenever 834 any 3605 dispute 7379 comes 935 to you from your brethren 251 who live 3427 in their cities 5892b, between 996 blood 1818 and blood 1818, between 996 law 8451 and commandment 4687, statutes 2706 and ordinances 4941, you shall warn 2094b them so 3808 that they may not be guilty 816 before the LORD 3068, and wrath 7110a may [not] come 1961 on you and your brethren 251. Thus 3541 you shall do 6213a and you will not be guilty 816.

 19:11 “Behold 2009, Amariah 568 the chief 7218 priest 3548 will be over 5921 you in all 3605 that pertains 1697 to the LORD 3068, and Zebadiah 2069 the son 1121 of Ishmael 3458, the ruler 5057 of the house 1004 of Judah 3063, in all 3605 that pertains 1697 to the king 4428. Also the Levites 3881 shall be officers 7860 before 6440 you. Act 6213a resolutely 2388, and the LORD 3068 be with the upright 2896a.”
