1 The psalmist, having exhorted the judges, 5 and reproved their negligence, 8 prayeth God to judge.

82:1 ¶ [[A Psalm for Asaph.]] God stands in the assembly of gods; and in the midst [of them] will judge gods.		82:1 ¶ [[A Psalm° of Asaph.]]° Elohim ° standeth°° in the congregation° of el;° he judgeth°° among° the elohim.°
82:2 How long will ye judge unrighteously, and accept the persons of sinners? Pause.		82:2 How long°° will ye judge°° unjustly,° and accept°° the persons° of the wicked?° Selah.°
82:3 Judge the orphan and poor: do justice to the low and needy.		82:3 Defend°° the poor° and fatherless:° do justice°° to the afflicted° and needy.°°
82:4 Rescue the needy, and deliver the poor out of the hand of the sinner.		82:4 Deliver°° the poor° and needy:° rid°° [them] out of the hand°° of the wicked.°
82:5 They know not, nor understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.		82:5 They know°° not,° neither° will they understand;°° they walk°° on° in darkness:° all° the foundations°° of the earth° are out of course.°°
82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all [of you] children of the Most High.		82:6 I° have said,°° Ye [are] elohim;° and all° of you° [are] children° of Elyon.°
82:7 But ye die as men, and fall as one of the princes.		82:7 But° ye shall die°° like men,° and fall°° like one° of the princes.°
82:8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.		82:8 Arise,°° O Elohim,° judge°° the earth:° for° thou° shalt inherit°° all° nations.°
