76:1 ¶
[[For the end, among the Hymns, a Psalm for Asaph; a Song for the Assyrian.]] God is known in Judah{gr.Judea}: his name is great in Israel. |
|
76:1 ¶
[[To the chief Musician°°
on Neginoth,°
A Psalm°
[or] Song°
of Asaph.]]°
In Judah°
[is] Elohim°
known:°°
his name°
[is] great°
in Israel.° |
76:2
And his place has been in peace, and his dwelling-place in Zion{gr.Sion}. |
|
76:2
In Salem°
also is°
his tabernacle,°
and his dwelling place°
in Zion.° |
76:3
There he broke the power of the bows, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Pause. |
|
76:3
There°
brake°°
he the arrows°
of the bow,°
the shield,°
and the sword,°
and the battle.°
Selah.° |
76:4
Thou dost wonderfully shine forth from the everlasting mountains. |
|
76:4
Thou°
[art] more glorious°°
[and] excellent°
than the mountains°°
of prey.° |
76:5
All the simple ones in heart were troubled; all the men of wealth have slept their sleep, and have found nothing in their hands. |
|
76:5
The stouthearted°°
are spoiled,°°
they have slept°°
their sleep:°
and none°°
of the men°°
of might°
have found°°
their hands.° |
76:6
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, the riders on horses slumbered. |
|
76:6
At thy rebuke,°°
O Elohim°
of Jacob,°
both the chariot°
and horse°
are cast into a dead sleep.°° |
76:7
Thou art terrible; and who shall withstand thee, because of thine anger? |
|
76:7
Thou,°
[even] thou,°
[art] to be feared:°°
and who°
may stand°°
in thy sight°
when°
once°°
thou art angry?° |
76:8
Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still, |
|
76:8
Thou didst cause judgment°
to be heard°°
from°
heaven;°
the earth°
feared,°°
and was still,°° |
76:9
when God arose to judgment, to save all the meek in heart. Pause. |
|
76:9
When Elohim°
arose°°
to judgment,°
to save°°
all°
the meek°
of the earth.°
Selah.° |
76:10
For the inward thought of man shall give thanks to thee: and the memorial of his inward thought shall keep a feast to thee. |
|
76:10
Surely°
the wrath°
of man°
shall praise°°
thee: the remainder°
of wrath°
shalt thou restrain.°° |
76:11
Vow, and pay [your vows] to the Lord our God; all that are round about him shall bring gifts, |
|
76:11
Vow,°°
and pay°°
unto Yahweh°
your Elohim:°
let all°
that be round about°
him bring°°
presents°
unto him that ought to be feared.° |
76:12
[even] to him that is terrible, and that takes away the spirits of princes; to him that is terrible among the kings of the earth. |
|
76:12
He shall cut off°°
the spirit°
of princes:°
[he is] terrible°°
to the kings°
of the earth.° |
