1 The unclean are removed out of the camp. 5 Restitution is to be made in trespasses. 11 The trial of jealousy.

 5:1 Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 5:2 “Command 6680 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 that they send 7971 away 7971 from the camp 4264 every 3605 leper 6879 and everyone 3605 having a discharge 2100 and everyone 3605 who is unclean 2931 because of a [dead] person 5315.

 5:3 “You shall send 7971 away 7971 both 4480 male 2145 and female 5347; you shall send 7971 them outside 413 4480 2351 the camp 4264 so that they will not defile 2930 their camp 4264 where 834 I dwell 7931 in their midst 8432.”

 5:4 The sons 1121 of Israel 3478 did 6213a so 3651 and sent 7971 them outside 413 4480 2351 the camp 4264; just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had spoken 1696 to Moses 4872, thus 3651 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 did 6213a.

 5:5 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 5:6 “Speak 1696 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, ‘When 3588 a man 376 or 176 woman 802 commits 6213a any 4480 3605 of the sins 2403b of mankind 120, acting 4603 unfaithfully 4604 against the LORD 3068, and that person 5315 is guilty 816,

 5:7 then he shall confess 3034 his sins 2403b which 834 he has committed 6213a, and he shall make 7725 restitution 7725 in full 7218 for his wrong 817 and add 3254 to it one-fifth 2549 of it, and give 5414 [it] to him whom 834 he has wronged 816.

 5:8 ‘But if 518 the man 376 has 369 no 369 relative 1350 to whom restitution 7725 may be made 7725 for the wrong 817, the restitution 7725 which is made 7725 for the wrong 817 [must go] to the LORD 3068 for the priest 3548, besides 4480 905 the ram 352c of atonement 3725, by which 834 atonement 3722a is made 3722a for him.

 5:9 ‘Also every 3605 contribution 8641 pertaining to all 3605 the holy 6944 [gifts] of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, which 834 they offer 7126 to the priest 3548, shall be his.

 5:10 ‘So every 376 man’s 376 holy 6944 [gifts] shall be his; whatever 834 any 376 man 376 gives 5414 to the priest 3548, it becomes 1961 his.’”

 5:11 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 5:12 “Speak 1696 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 and say 559 to them, ‘If 3588 any 376 man’s 376 wife 802 goes 7847 astray 7847 and is unfaithful 4604 to him,

 5:13 and a man 376 has 7901 intercourse 2233 7902 with her and it is hidden 5956 from the eyes 5869 of her husband 376 and she is undetected 5641, although she has defiled 2930 herself 1931, and there 369 is no 369 witness 5707 against her and she has not been caught 8610 in the act,

 5:14 if a spirit 7307 of jealousy 7068 comes 5674a over 5921 him and he is jealous 7065 of his wife 802 when she has defiled 2930 herself, or 176 if a spirit 7307 of jealousy 7068 comes 5674a over 5921 him and he is jealous 7065 of his wife 802 when she has not defiled 2930 herself,

 5:15 the man 376 shall then bring 935 his wife 802 to the priest 3548, and shall bring 935 [as] an offering 7133a for her one-tenth 6224 of an ephah 374 of barley 8184 meal 7058; he shall not pour 3332 oil 8081 on it nor 3808 put 5414 frankincense 3828 on it, for it is a grain offering 4503 of jealousy 7068, a grain offering 4503 of memorial 2146, a reminder 2142 of iniquity 5771.

 5:16 ¶ ‘Then the priest 3548 shall bring 7126 her near 7126 and have her stand 5975 before 6440 the LORD 3068,

 5:17 and the priest 3548 shall take 3947 holy 6918 water 4325 in an earthenware 2789 vessel 3627; and he shall take 3947 some 4480 of the dust 6083 that is on the floor 7172 of the tabernacle 4908 and put 5414 [it] into the water 4325.

 5:18 ‘The priest 3548 shall then have the woman 802 stand 5975 before 6440 the LORD 3068 and let 6544a [the hair of] the woman’s 802 head 7218 go 6544a loose 6544a, and place 5414 the grain offering 4503 of memorial 2146 in her hands 3709, which 1931 is the grain offering 4503 of jealousy 7068, and in the hand 3027 of the priest 3548 is to be the water 4325 of bitterness 4751 that brings 779 a curse 779.

 5:19 ‘The priest 3548 shall have her take 7650 an oath 7650 and shall say 559 to the woman 802, “If 518 no 3808 man 376 has lain 7901 with you and if 518 you have not gone 7847 astray 7847 into uncleanness 2932a, [being] under 8478 [the authority of] your husband 376, be immune 5352 to this 428 water 4325 of bitterness 4751 that brings 779 a curse 779;

 5:20 if 3588 you, however, have gone 7847 astray 7847, [being] under 8478 [the authority of] your husband 376, and if 3588 you have defiled 2930 yourself and a man 376 other 1107 than 1107 your husband 376 has 5414 had 5414 intercourse 7903 with you”

 5:21 (then the priest 3548 shall have the woman 802 swear 7650 with the oath 7621 of the curse 423, and the priest 3548 shall say 559 to the woman 802), “the LORD 3068 make 5414 you a curse 423 and an oath 7621 among 8432 your people 5971a by the LORD’S 3068 making 5414 your thigh 3409 waste 5307 away 5307 and your abdomen 990 swell 6639;

 5:22 and this 428 water 4325 that brings 779 a curse 779 shall go 935 into your stomach 4578, and make your abdomen 990 swell 6638 and your thigh 3409 waste 5307 away 5307.” And the woman 802 shall say 559, “Amen 543. Amen 543.”

 5:23 ¶ ‘The priest 3548 shall then write 3789 these 428 curses 423 on a scroll 5612, and he shall wash 4229a them off 4229a into the water 4325 of bitterness 4751.

 5:24 ‘Then he shall make the woman 802 drink 8248 the water 4325 of bitterness 4751 that brings 779 a curse 779, so that the water 4325 which brings 779 a curse 779 will go 935 into her and [cause] bitterness 4751.

 5:25 ‘The priest 3548 shall take 3947 the grain offering 4503 of jealousy 7068 from the woman’s 802 hand 3027, and he shall wave 5130 the grain offering 4503 before 6440 the LORD 3068 and bring 7126 it to the altar 4196;

 5:26 and the priest 3548 shall take 7061 a handful 7061 of the grain offering 4503 as its memorial 234 offering 234 and offer 6999 [it] up in smoke 6999 on the altar 4196, and afterward 310 he shall make the woman 802 drink 8248 the water 4325.

 5:27 ‘When he has made her drink 8248 the water 4325, then it shall come 1961 about, if 518 she has defiled 2930 herself and has been 4603 unfaithful 4604 to her husband 376, that the water 4325 which brings 779 a curse 779 will go 935 into her and [cause] bitterness 4751, and her abdomen 990 will swell 6638 and her thigh 3409 will waste 5307 away 5307, and the woman 802 will become 1961 a curse 423 among 7130 her people 5971a.

 5:28 ‘But if 518 the woman 802 has not defiled 2930 herself and is clean 2889, she will then be free 5352 and conceive 2232 children 2233.

 5:29 ¶ ‘This 2088 is the law 8451 of jealousy 7068: when 834 a wife 802, [being] under 8478 [the authority of] her husband 376, goes 7847 astray 7847 and defiles 2930 herself,

 5:30 or 176 when 834 a spirit 7307 of jealousy 7068 comes 5674a over 5921 a man 376 and he is jealous 7065 of his wife 802, he shall then make the woman 802 stand 5975 before 6440 the LORD 3068, and the priest 3548 shall apply 6213a all 3605 this 2088 law 8451 to her.

 5:31 ‘Moreover, the man 376 will be free 5352 from guilt 5771, but that woman 802 shall bear 5375 her guilt 5771.’”
