 4:1 Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872 and to Aaron 175, saying 559,

 4:2 “Take 5375 a census 7218 of the descendants 1121 of Kohath 6955 from among 8432 the sons 1121 of Levi 3878, by their families 4940, by their fathers’ 1 households 1004,

 4:3 from thirty 7970 years 8141 and upward 4605, even to fifty 2572 years 8141 old 1121, all 3605 who enter 935 the service 6635 to do 6213a the work 4399 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 4:4 “This 2088 is the work 5656 of the descendants 1121 of Kohath 6955 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150, [concerning] the most 6944 holy 6944 things 6944.

 4:5 ¶ “When the camp 4264 sets 5265 out, Aaron 175 and his sons 1121 shall go 935 in and they shall take 3381 down 3381 the veil 6532 of the screen 4539 and cover 3680 the ark 727 of the testimony 5715 with it;

 4:6 and they shall lay 5414 a covering 3681 of porpoise 8476 skin 5785 on it, and shall spread 6566 over 4605 [it] a cloth 899b of pure 3632 blue 8504, and shall insert 7760 its poles 905.

 4:7 “Over 5921 the table 7979 of the bread of the Presence 6440 they shall also spread 6566 a cloth 899b of blue 8504 and put 5414 on it the dishes 7086 and the pans 3709 and the sacrificial 4518 bowls 4518 and the jars 7184 for the drink 5262a offering 5262a, and the continual 8548 bread 3899 shall be on it.

 4:8 “They shall spread 6566 over 5921 them a cloth 899b of scarlet 8144 [material], and cover 3680 the same 853 with a covering 4372 of porpoise 8476 skin 5785, and they shall insert 7760 its poles 905.

 4:9 “Then they shall take 3947 a blue 8504 cloth 899b and cover 3680 the lampstand 4501 for the light 3974, along with its lamps 5216 and its snuffers 4457, and its trays 4289 and all 3605 its oil 8081 vessels 3627, by which 834 they serve 8334 it;

 4:10 and they shall put 5414 it and all 3605 its utensils 3627 in a covering 4372 of porpoise 8476 skin 5785, and shall put 5414 it on the carrying 4132 bars 4132.

 4:11 “Over 5921 the golden 2091 altar 4196 they shall spread 6566 a blue 8504 cloth 899b and cover 3680 it with a covering 4372 of porpoise 8476 skin 5785, and shall insert 7760 its poles 905;

 4:12 and they shall take 3947 all 3605 the utensils 3627 of service 8335, with which 834 they serve 8334 in the sanctuary 6944, and put 5414 them in a blue 8504 cloth 899b and cover 3680 them with a covering 4372 of porpoise 8476 skin 5785, and put 5414 them on the carrying 4132 bars 4132.

 4:13 “Then they shall take 1878 away 1878 the ashes 1878 from the altar 4196, and spread 6566 a purple 713 cloth 899b over 5921 it.

 4:14 “They shall also put 5414 on it all 3605 its utensils 3627 by which 834 they serve 8334 in connection 5921 with it: the firepans 4289, the forks 4207b and shovels 3257 and the basins 4219, all 3605 the utensils 3627 of the altar 4196; and they shall spread 6566 a cover 3681 of porpoise 8476 skin 5785 over 5921 it and insert 7760 its poles 905.

 4:15 “When Aaron 175 and his sons 1121 have finished 3615 covering 3680 the holy 6944 [objects] and all 3605 the furnishings 3627 of the sanctuary 6944, when the camp 4264 is to set 5265 out, after 310 that the sons 1121 of Kohath 6955 shall come 935 to carry 5375 [them], so that they will not touch 5060 the holy 6944 [objects] and die 4191. These 428 are the things 4853a in the tent 168 of meeting 4150 which the sons 1121 of Kohath 6955 are to carry 4853a.

 4:16 ¶ “The responsibility 6486 of Eleazar 499 the son 1121 of Aaron 175 the priest 3548 is the oil 8081 for the light 3974 and the fragrant 5561 incense 7004 and the continual 8548 grain offering 4503 and the anointing 4888b oil 8081—the responsibility 6486 of all 3605 the tabernacle 4908 and of all 3605 that is in it, with the sanctuary 6944 and its furnishings 3627.”

 4:17 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872 and to Aaron 175, saying 559,

 4:18 “Do not let the tribe 7626 of the families 4940 of the Kohathites 6956 be cut 3772 off 3772 from among 8432 the Levites 3881.

 4:19 “But do 6213a this 2088 to them that they may live 2421a and not die 4191 when they approach 5066 the most 6944 holy 6944 [objects]: Aaron 175 and his sons 1121 shall go 935 in and assign 7760 each 376 of them to his work 5656 and to his load 4853a;

 4:20 but they shall not go 935 in to see 7200 the holy 6944 [objects] even for a moment 1104, or they will die 4191.”

 4:21 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 4:22 “Take 5375 a census 7218 of the sons 1121 of Gershon 1648 also 1571, by their fathers’ 1 households 1004, by their families 4940;

 4:23 from thirty 7970 years 8141 and upward 4605 to fifty 2572 years 8141 old 1121, you shall number 6485 them; all 3605 who enter 935 to perform 6633 the service 6635 to do 5647 the work 5656 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 4:24 “This 2088 is the service 5656 of the families 4940 of the Gershonites 1649, in serving 5647 and in carrying 4853a:

 4:25 they shall carry 5375 the curtains 3407 of the tabernacle 4908 and the tent 168 of meeting 4150 [with] its covering 4372 and the covering 4372 of porpoise 8476 skin 8476 that is on top 4605 of it, and the screen 4539 for the doorway 6607 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150,

 4:26 and the hangings 7050b of the court 2691a, and the screen 4539 for the doorway 6607 of the gate 8179 of the court 2691a which 834 is around 5439 the tabernacle 4908 and the altar 4196, and their cords 4340 and all 3605 the equipment 3627 for their service 5656; and all 3605 that is to be done 6213a, they shall perform 5647.

 4:27 “All 3605 the service 5656 of the sons 1121 of the Gershonites 1649, in all 3605 their loads 4853a and in all 3605 their work 5656, shall be [performed] at the command 6310 of Aaron 175 and his sons 1121; and you shall assign 6485 to them as a duty 4931 all 3605 their loads 4853a.

 4:28 “This 2088 is the service 5656 of the families 4940 of the sons 1121 of the Gershonites 1649 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150, and their duties 4931 [shall be] under the direction 3027 of Ithamar 385 the son 1121 of Aaron 175 the priest 3548.

 4:29 ¶ “[As for] the sons 1121 of Merari 4847, you shall number 6485 them by their families 4940, by their fathers’ 1 households 1004;

 4:30 from thirty 7970 years 8141 and upward 4605 even to fifty 2572 years 8141 old 1121, you shall number 6485 them, everyone 3605 who enters 935 the service 6635 to do 5647 the work 5656 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 4:31 “Now this 2088 is the duty 4931 of their loads 4853a, for all 3605 their service 5656 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150: the boards 7175b of the tabernacle 4908 and its bars 1280 and its pillars 5982 and its sockets 134,

 4:32 and the pillars 5982 around 5439 the court 2691a and their sockets 134 and their pegs 3489 and their cords 4340, with all 3605 their equipment 3627 and with all 3605 their service 5656; and you shall assign 6485 [each man] by name 8034 the items 3627 he is to carry 4853a.

 4:33 “This 2088 is the service 5656 of the families 4940 of the sons 1121 of Merari 4847, according to all 3605 their service 5656 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150, under the direction 3027 of Ithamar 385 the son 1121 of Aaron 175 the priest 3548.”

 4:34 ¶ So Moses 4872 and Aaron 175 and the leaders 5387a of the congregation 5712 numbered 6485 the sons 1121 of the Kohathites 6956 by their families 4940 and by their fathers’ 1 households 1004,

 4:35 from thirty 7970 years 8141 and upward 4605 even to fifty 2572 years 8141 old 1121, everyone 3605 who entered 935 the service 6635 for work 5656 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 4:36 Their numbered 6485 men by their families 4940 were 2,750 505 7651 3967 2572.

 4:37 These 428 are the numbered 6485 men of the Kohathite 6956 families 4940, everyone 3605 who was serving 5647 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150, whom 834 Moses 4872 and Aaron 175 numbered 6485 according 5921 to the commandment 6310 of the LORD 3068 through 3027 Moses 4872.

 4:38 ¶ The numbered 6485 men of the sons 1121 of Gershon 1648 by their families 4940 and by their fathers’ 1 households 1004,

 4:39 from thirty 7970 years 8141 and upward 4605 even to fifty 2572 years 8141 old 1121, everyone 3605 who entered 935 the service 6635 for work 5656 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 4:40 Their numbered 6485 men by their families 4940, by their fathers’ 1 households 1004, were 2,630 505 8337a 3967 7970.

 4:41 These 428 are the numbered 6485 men of the families 4940 of the sons 1121 of Gershon 1648, everyone 3605 who was serving 5647 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150, whom 834 Moses 4872 and Aaron 175 numbered 6485 according 5921 to the commandment 6310 of the LORD 3068.

 4:42 ¶ The numbered 6485 men of the families 4940 of the sons 1121 of Merari 4847 by their families 4940, by their fathers’ 1 households 1004,

 4:43 from thirty 7970 years 8141 and upward 4605 even to fifty 2572 years 8141 old 1121, everyone 3605 who entered 935 the service 6635 for work 5656 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 4:44 Their numbered 6485 men by their families 4940 were 3,200 7969 505 3967.

 4:45 These 428 are the numbered 6485 men of the families 4940 of the sons 1121 of Merari 4847, whom 834 Moses 4872 and Aaron 175 numbered 6485 according 5921 to the commandment 6310 of the LORD 3068 through 3027 Moses 4872.

 4:46 ¶ All 3605 the numbered 6485 men of the Levites 3881, whom 834 Moses 4872 and Aaron 175 and the leaders 5387a of Israel 3478 numbered 6485, by their families 4940 and by their fathers’ 1 households 1004,

 4:47 from thirty 7970 years 8141 and upward 4605 even to fifty 2572 years 8141 old 1121, everyone 3605 who could enter 935 to do 5647 the work 5647 of service 5656 and the work 5656 of carrying 4853a in the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 4:48 Their numbered 6485 men were 8,580 8083 505 2568 3967 8084.

 4:49 According 5921 to the commandment 6310 of the LORD 3068 through 3027 Moses 4872, they were numbered 6485, everyone 376 by his serving 5656 or carrying 4853a; thus [these were] his numbered 6485 men, just 834 as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872.
