Numbers 32

1 The Reubenites and Gadites sue for their inheritance on that side Jordan. 6 Moses reproveth them. 16 They offer him conditions to his content. 33 Moses assigneth them the land. 39 They conquer it.

 32:1 Now the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 and the sons 1121 of Gad 1410 had 1961 an exceedingly 3966 large 6099 number 6099 of livestock 4735. So when they saw 7200 the land 776 of Jazer 3270 and the land 776 of Gilead 1568, that it was indeed 2009 a place 4725 suitable 4725 for livestock 4735,

 32:2 the sons 1121 of Gad 1410 and the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 came 935 and spoke 559 to Moses 4872 and to Eleazar 499 the priest 3548 and to the leaders 5387a of the congregation 5712, saying 559,

 32:3 “Ataroth 5852, Dibon 1769, Jazer 3270, Nimrah 5247, Heshbon 2809, Elealeh 500, Sebam 7643, Nebo 5015a and Beon 1194,

 32:4 the land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068 conquered 5221 before 6440 the congregation 5712 of Israel 3478, is a land 776 for livestock 4735, and your servants 5650 have livestock 4735.”

 32:5 They said 559, “If 518 we have found 4672 favor 2580 in your sight 5869, let this 2088 land 776 be given 5414 to your servants 5650 as a possession 272; do not take 5674a us across 5674a the Jordan 3383.”

 32:6 ¶ But Moses 4872 said 559 to the sons 1121 of Gad 1410 and to the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205, “Shall your brothers 251 go 935 to war 4421 while you yourselves 864b sit 3427 here 6311?

 32:7 “Now why 4100 are you discouraging 5106 3820 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 from crossing 5674a over 5674a into the land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068 has given 5414 them?

 32:8 “This 3541 is what 3541 your fathers 1 did 6213a when I sent 7971 them from Kadesh-barnea 6947 to see 7200 the land 776.

 32:9 “For when they went 5927 up to the valley 5158a of Eshcol 812 and saw 7200 the land 776, they discouraged 5106 3820 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 so that they did not go 935 into the land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068 had given 5414 them.

 32:10 “So the LORD’S 3068 anger 639 burned 2734 in that day 3117, and He swore 7650, saying 559,

 32:11 ‘None 518 of the men 376 who came 5927 up from Egypt 4714, from twenty 6242 years 8141 old 1121 and upward 4605, shall see 7200 the land 127 which 834 I swore 7650 to Abraham 85, to Isaac 3327 and to Jacob 3290; for they did not follow 310 Me fully 4390,

 32:12 except 1115 Caleb 3612 the son 1121 of Jephunneh 3312 the Kenizzite 7074 and Joshua 3091 the son 1121 of Nun 5126, for they have followed 310 the LORD 3068 fully 4390.’

 32:13 “So the LORD’S 3068 anger 639 burned 2734 against Israel 3478, and He made them wander 5128 in the wilderness 4057b forty 705 years 8141, until 5704 the entire 3605 generation 1755 of those who had done 6213a evil 7451a in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068 was destroyed 8552.

 32:14 “Now behold 2009, you have risen 6965 up in your fathers’ 1 place 8478, a brood 8635 of sinful 2400 men 376, to add 5595 still 5750 more 5750 to the burning 2740 anger 639 of the LORD 3068 against 413 Israel 3478.

 32:15 “For if you turn 7725 away 7725 from following 310 Him, He will once 3254 5750 more 3254 5750 abandon 5117 them in the wilderness 4057b, and you will destroy 7843 all 3605 these 2088 people 5971a.”

 32:16 ¶ Then they came 5066 near 5066 to him and said 559, “We will build 1129 here 6311 sheepfolds 6629 1448 for our livestock 4735 and cities 5892b for our little 2945 ones 2945;

 32:17 but we ourselves 587 will be armed 2502b ready 2363a [to go] before 6440 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, until 5704 834 518 we have brought 935 them to their place 4725, while our little 2945 ones 2945 live 3427 in the fortified 4013 cities 5892b because 4480 6440 of the inhabitants 3427 of the land 776.

 32:18 “We will not return 7725 to our homes 1004 until 5704 every 376 one 376 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 has possessed 5157 his inheritance 5159.

 32:19 “For we will not have 5157 an inheritance 5157 with them on the other 5676 side 5676 of the Jordan 3383 and beyond 1973, because 3588 our inheritance 5159 has fallen 935 to us on this side 5676 of the Jordan 3383 toward the east 4217.”

 32:20 ¶ So Moses 4872 said 559 to them, “If 518 you will do 6213a this 2088, if 518 you will arm 2502b yourselves before 6440 the LORD 3068 for the war 4421,

 32:21 and all 3605 of you armed 2502b men cross 5674a over 5674a the Jordan 3383 before 6440 the LORD 3068 until 5704 He has driven 3423 His enemies 340 out from before 6440 Him,

 32:22 and the land 776 is subdued 3533 before 6440 the LORD 3068, then afterward 310 you shall return 7725 and be free 5355a of obligation 5355a toward 4480 the LORD 3068 and toward 4480 Israel 3478, and this 2088 land 776 shall be yours for a possession 272 before 6440 the LORD 3068.

 32:23 “But if 518 you will not do 6213a so 3651, behold 2009, you have sinned 2398 against the LORD 3068, and be sure 3045 your sin 2403b will find 4672 you out.

 32:24 “Build 1129 yourselves cities 5892b for your little 2945 ones 2945, and sheepfolds 1448 for your sheep 6792, and do 6213a what you have promised 3318 4480 6310.”

 32:25 ¶ The sons 1121 of Gad 1410 and the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 spoke 559 to Moses 4872, saying 559, “Your servants 5650 will do 6213a just 3512c as my lord 113 commands 6680.

 32:26 “Our little 2945 ones 2945, our wives 802, our livestock 4735 and all 3605 our cattle 929 shall remain 1961 there 8033 in the cities 5892b of Gilead 1568;

 32:27 while your servants 5650, everyone 3605 who is armed 2502b for war 6635, will cross 5674a over 5674a in the presence 6440 of the LORD 3068 to battle 4421, just 3512c as my lord 113 says 1696.”

 32:28 ¶ So Moses 4872 gave 6680 command 6680 concerning them to Eleazar 499 the priest 3548, and to Joshua 3091 the son 1121 of Nun 5126, and to the heads 7218 of the fathers’ 1 [households] of the tribes 4294 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.

 32:29 Moses 4872 said 559 to them, “If 518 the sons 1121 of Gad 1410 and the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205, everyone 3605 who is armed 2502b for battle 4421, will cross 5674a with you over 5674a the Jordan 3383 in the presence 6440 of the LORD 3068, and the land 776 is subdued 3533 before 6440 you, then you shall give 5414 them the land 776 of Gilead 1568 for a possession 272;

 32:30 but if 518 they will not cross 5674a over 5674a with you armed 2502b, they shall have 270 possessions 270 among 8432 you in the land 776 of Canaan 3667a.”

 32:31 The sons 1121 of Gad 1410 and the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 answered 6030a, saying 559, “As the LORD 3068 has said 1696 to your servants 5650, so 3651 we will do 6213a.

 32:32 “We ourselves 5168 will cross 5674a over 5674a armed 2502b in the presence 6440 of the LORD 3068 into the land 776 of Canaan 3667a, and the possession 272 of our inheritance 5159 [shall remain] with us across 4480 5676 the Jordan 3383.”

 32:33 ¶ So Moses 4872 gave 5414 to them, to the sons 1121 of Gad 1410 and to the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 and to the half-tribe 2677 7626 of Joseph’s 3130 son 1121 Manasseh 4519, the kingdom 4467 of Sihon 5511, king 4428 of the Amorites 567 and the kingdom 4467 of Og 5747, the king 4428 of Bashan 1316, the land 776 with its cities 5892b with [their] territories 1367, the cities 5892b of the surrounding 5439 land 776.

 32:34 The sons 1121 of Gad 1410 built 1129 Dibon 1769 and Ataroth 5852 and Aroer 6177,

 32:35 and Atroth-shophan 5855 and Jazer 3270 and Jogbehah 3011,

 32:36 and Beth-nimrah 1039 and Beth-haran 1027 as fortified 4013 cities 5892b, and sheepfolds 1448 for sheep 6629.

 32:37 The sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 built 1129 Heshbon 2809 and Elealeh 500 and Kiriathaim 7156,

 32:38 and Nebo 5015a and Baal-meon 1186—[their] names 8034 being changed 5437—and Sibmah 7643, and they gave 7121 [other] names 8034 to the cities 5892b which 834 they built 1129.

 32:39 The sons 1121 of Machir 4353 the son 1121 of Manasseh 4519 went 1980 to Gilead 1568 and took 3920 it, and dispossessed 3423 the Amorites 567 who 834 were in it.

 32:40 So Moses 4872 gave 5414 Gilead 1568 to Machir 4353 the son 1121 of Manasseh 4519, and he lived 3427 in it.

 32:41 Jair 2971 the son 1121 of Manasseh 4519 went 1980 and took 3920 its towns 2333, and called 7121 them Havvoth-jair 2334.

 32:42 Nobah 5025 went 1980 and took 3920 Kenath 7079 and its villages 1323, and called 7121 it Nobah 5025 after his own name 8034.
