1, 13, 28 Balak's sacrifice. 7, 18 Balaam's parables.

 23:1 Then Balaam 1109a said 559 to Balak 1111, “Build 1129 seven 7651 altars 4196 for me here 2088, and prepare 3559 seven 7651 bulls 6499 and seven 7651 rams 352a for me here 2088.”

 23:2 Balak 1111 did 6213a just 3512c as Balaam 1109a had spoken 1696, and Balak 1111 and Balaam 1109a offered 5927 up a bull 6499 and a ram 352a on each altar 4196.

 23:3 Then Balaam 1109a said 559 to Balak 1111, “Stand 3320 beside 5921 your burnt 5930a offering 5930a, and I will go 1980; perhaps 194 the LORD 3068 will come 7136a to meet 7122 me, and whatever 4100 1697 He shows 7200 me I will tell 5046 you.” So he went 1980 to a bare 8205 hill 8205.

 23:4 ¶ Now God 430 met 7136a Balaam 1109a, and he said 559 to Him, “I have set 6186a up the seven 7651 altars 4196, and I have offered 5927 up a bull 6499 and a ram 352a on each altar 4196.”

 23:5 Then the LORD 3068 put 7760 a word 1697 in Balaam’s 1109a mouth 6310 and said 559, “Return 7725 to Balak 1111, and you shall speak 1696 thus 3541.”

 23:6 So he returned 7725 to him, and behold 2009, he was standing 5324 beside 5921 his burnt 5930a offering 5930a, he and all 3605 the leaders 8269 of Moab 4124.

 23:7 He took 5375 up his discourse 4912 and said 559, “From Aram 6307 Balak 1111 has brought 5148 me, Moab’s 4124 king 4428 from the mountains 2022 of the East 6924a, ‘Come 1980 curse 779 Jacob 3290 for me, And come 1980, denounce 2194 Israel 3478!’

 23:8 “How 4100 shall I curse 6895 whom God 410 has not cursed 6895? And how 4100 can I denounce 2194 whom the LORD 3068 has not denounced 2194?

 23:9 “As I see 7200 him from the top 7218 of the rocks 6697, And I look 7789 at him from the hills 1389; Behold 2005, a people 5971a [who] dwells 7931 apart 910, And will not be reckoned 2803 among the nations 1471.

 23:10 “Who 4310 can count 4487 the dust 6083 of Jacob 3290, Or number 4557 the fourth 7255 part 7255 of Israel 3478? Let me die 4191 the death 4194 of the upright 3477, And let my end 319 be like 3644 his!”

 23:11 ¶ Then Balak 1111 said 559 to Balaam 1109a, “What 4100 have you done 6213a to me? I took 3947 you to curse 6895 my enemies 340, but behold 2009, you have actually 1288 blessed 1288 them!”

 23:12 He replied 6030a, “Must I not be careful 8104 to speak 1696 what 834 the LORD 3068 puts 7760 in my mouth 6310?”

 23:13 ¶ Then Balak 1111 said 559 to him, “Please 4994 come 1980 with me to another 312 place 4725 from where 834 8033 you may see 7200 them, although you will only 657 see 7200 the extreme 7097a end 7097a of them and will not see 7200 all 3605 of them; and curse 6895 them for me from there 8033.”

 23:14 So he took 3947 him to the field 7704 of Zophim 6839, to the top 7218 of Pisgah 6449, and built 1129 seven 7651 altars 4196 and offered 5927 a bull 6499 and a ram 352a on [each] altar 4196.

 23:15 And he said 559 to Balak 1111, “Stand 3320 here 3541 beside 5921 your burnt 5930a offering 5930a while I myself 595 meet 7136a [the LORD] over 3541 there 3541.”

 23:16 Then the LORD 3068 met 7136a Balaam 1109a and put 7760 a word 1697 in his mouth 6310 and said 559, “Return 7725 to Balak 1111, and thus 3541 you shall speak 1696.”

 23:17 He came 935 to him, and behold 2009, he was standing 5324 beside 5921 his burnt 5930a offering 5930a, and the leaders 8269 of Moab 4124 with him. And Balak 1111 said 559 to him, “What 4100 has the LORD 3068 spoken 1696?”

 23:18 Then he took 5375 up his discourse 4912 and said 559, “Arise 6965, O Balak 1111, and hear 8085; Give 238 ear 238 to me, O son 1121 of Zippor 6834!

 23:19 “God 410 is not a man 376, that He should lie 3576, Nor 3808 a son 1121 of man 120, that He should repent 5162; Has He said 559, and will He not do 6213a it? Or has He spoken 1696, and will He not make 6965 it good 6965?

 23:20 “Behold 2009, I have received 3947 [a command] to bless 1288; When He has blessed 1288, then I cannot 3808 revoke 7725 it.

 23:21 “He has not observed 5027 misfortune 205 in Jacob 3290; Nor 3808 has He seen 7200 trouble 5999 in Israel 3478; The LORD 3068 his God 430 is with him, And the shout 8643 of a king 4428 is among them.

 23:22 “God 410 brings 3318 them out of Egypt 4714, He is for them like the horns 8443 of the wild 7214 ox 7214.

 23:23 “For there is no 3808 omen 5173 against Jacob 3290, Nor 3808 is there any divination 7081 against Israel 3478; At the proper time 6256 it shall be said 559 to Jacob 3290 And to Israel 3478, what 4100 God 410 has done 6466!

 23:24 “Behold 2005, a people 5971a rises 6965 like a lioness 3833b, And as a lion 738 it lifts 5375 itself; It will not lie 7901 down 7901 until 5704 it devours 398 the prey 2964, And drinks 8354 the blood 1818 of the slain 2491a.”

 23:25 ¶ Then Balak 1111 said 559 to Balaam 1109a, “Do not curse 6895 them at all 6895 nor 3808 bless 1288 them at all 1288!”

 23:26 But Balaam 1109a replied 6030a to Balak 1111, “Did I not tell 1696 you, ‘Whatever 3605 834 the LORD 3068 speaks 1696, that I must do 6213a’?”

 23:27 ¶ Then Balak 1111 said 559 to Balaam 1109a, “Please 4994 come 1980, I will take 3947 you to another 312 place 4725; perhaps 194 it will be agreeable 3474 with God 430 that you curse 6895 them for me from there 8033.”

 23:28 So Balak 1111 took 3947 Balaam 1109a to the top 7218 of Peor 6465 which overlooks 5921 6440 8259 the wasteland 3452.

 23:29 Balaam 1109a said 559 to Balak 1111, “Build 1129 seven 7651 altars 4196 for me here 2088 and prepare 3559 seven 7651 bulls 6499 and seven 7651 rams 352a for me here 2088.”

 23:30 Balak 1111 did 6213a just 3512c as Balaam 1109a had said 559, and offered 5927 up a bull 6499 and a ram 352a on [each] altar 4196.
