Numbers 24

1 Balaam, leaving divinations, prophesieth the happiness of Israel. 10 Balak in anger dismisseth him. 15 He prophesieth of the Star of Jacob, and the destruction of some nations.

 24:1 When Balaam 1109a saw 7200 that it pleased 2895 5869 the LORD 3068 to bless 1288 Israel 3478, he did not go 1980 as at other 6471 times 6471 to seek 7122 omens 5173 but he set 7896 his face 6440 toward 413 the wilderness 4057b.

 24:2 And Balaam 1109a lifted 5375 up his eyes 5869 and saw 7200 Israel 3478 camping 7931 tribe 7626 by tribe 7626; and the Spirit 7307 of God 430 came 1961 upon him.

 24:3 He took 5375 up his discourse 4912 and said 559, “The oracle 5002 of Balaam 1109a the son 1121 of Beor 1160, And the oracle 5002 of the man 1397 whose eye 5869 is opened 8365b;

 24:4 The oracle 5002 of him who hears 8085 the words 561 of God 410, Who 834 sees 2372 the vision 4236 of the Almighty 7706b, Falling 5307 down 5307, yet having his eyes 5869 uncovered 1540,

 24:5 How 4100 fair 2895 are your tents 168, O Jacob 3290, Your dwellings 4908, O Israel 3478!

 24:6 “Like valleys 5158a that stretch 5186 out, Like gardens 1593 beside 5921 the river 5104, Like aloes 174 planted 5193 by the LORD 3068, Like cedars 730 beside 5921 the waters 4325.

 24:7 “Water 4325 will flow 5140 from his buckets 1805, And his seed 2233 [will be] by many 7227a waters 4325, And his king 4428 shall be higher 7311 than 4480 Agag 90, And his kingdom 4438 shall be exalted 5375.

 24:8 “God 410 brings 3318 him out of Egypt 4714, He is for him like the horns 8443 of the wild 7214 ox 7214. He will devour 398 the nations 1471 [who are] his adversaries 6862c, And will crush 1633b their bones 6106 in pieces, And shatter 4272 [them] with his arrows 2671.

 24:9 “He couches 3766, he lies 7901 down 7901 as a lion 738, And as a lion 3833b, who 4310 dares rouse 6965 him? Blessed 1288 is everyone who blesses 1288 you, And cursed 779 is everyone who curses 779 you.”

 24:10 ¶ Then Balak’s 1111 anger 639 burned 2734 against 413 Balaam 1109a, and he struck 5606 his hands 3709 together 5606; and Balak 1111 said 559 to Balaam 1109a, “I called 7121 you to curse 6895 my enemies 340, but behold 2009, you have persisted 1288 in blessing 1288 them these 2088 three 7969 times 6471!

 24:11 “Therefore, flee 1272 to your place 4725 now 6258. I said 559 I would honor 3513 you greatly 3513, but behold 2009, the LORD 3068 has held 4513 you back 4513 from honor 3519b.”

 24:12 Balaam 1109a said 559 to Balak 1111, “Did I not tell 1696 your messengers 4397 whom 834 you had sent 7971 to me, saying 559,

 24:13 ‘Though 518 Balak 1111 were to give 5414 me his house 1004 full 4393 of silver 3701 and gold 2091, I could 3201 not do 6213a anything contrary 5674a to the command 6310 of the LORD 3068, either good 2899b or 176 bad 7451a, of my own accord 3820. What 834 the LORD 3068 speaks 1696, that I will speak 1696’?

 24:14 “And now 6258, behold 2009, I am going 1980 to my people 5971a; come 1980, [and] I will advise 3289 you what 834 this 2088 people 5971a will do 6213a to your people 5971a in the days 3117 to come 319.”

 24:15 ¶ He took 5375 up his discourse 4912 and said 559, “The oracle 5002 of Balaam 1109a the son 1121 of Beor 1160, And the oracle 5002 of the man 1397 whose eye 5869 is opened 8365b,

 24:16 The oracle 5002 of him who hears 8085 the words 561 of God 410, And knows 3045 the knowledge 1847 of the Most 5945b High 5945b, Who sees 2372 the vision 4236 of the Almighty 7706b, Falling 5307 down 5307, yet having his eyes 5869 uncovered 1540.

 24:17 “I see 7200 him, but not now 6258; I behold 7789 him, but not near 7138; A star 3556 shall come 1869 forth from Jacob 3290, A scepter 7626 shall rise 6965 from Israel 3478, And shall crush 4272 through 4272 the forehead 6285 of Moab 4124, And tear 7175a down 7175a all 3605 the sons 1121 of Sheth 8352.

 24:18 “Edom 112b shall be a possession 3423, Seir 8165, its enemies 340, also will be a possession 3423, While Israel 3478 performs 6213a valiantly 2428.

 24:19 “One from Jacob 3290 shall have 7287a dominion 7287a, And will destroy 6 the remnant 8300 from the city 5892b.”

 24:20 ¶ And he looked 7200 at Amalek 6002 and took 5375 up his discourse 4912 and said 559, “Amalek 6002 was the first 7225 of the nations 1471, But his end 319 [shall be] destruction 8.”

 24:21 ¶ And he looked 7200 at the Kenite 7017, and took 5375 up his discourse 4912 and said 559, “Your dwelling 4186 place 4186 is enduring 386, And your nest 7064 is set 7760 in the cliff 5553.

 24:22 “Nevertheless 3588 518 Kain 7014a will be consumed 1197a; How 4100 long 5704 will Asshur 804b keep 7617 you captive 7628b?”

 24:23 ¶ Then he took 5375 up his discourse 4912 and said 559, “Alas 188, who 4310 can live 2421a except God 410 has ordained 7760 it?

 24:24 “But ships 6716a [shall come] from the coast 3027 of Kittim 3794, And they shall afflict 6031a Asshur 804b and will afflict 6031a Eber 5677; So they also 1571 [will come] to destruction 8.”

 24:25 ¶ Then Balaam 1109a arose 6965 and departed 1980 and returned 7725 to his place 4725, and Balak 1111 also 1571 went 1980 his way 1870.
