1995 New American Standard Bible (NASB)Numbers 361 The inconvenience of the inheritance of daughters, 5 is remedied by marrying in their own tribes, 7 lest the inheritance should be removed from the tribe. 10 The daughters of Zelophehad marry their father's brothers' sons. 36:1 And the heads 7218 of the fathers’ 1 [households] of the family 4940 of the sons 1121 of Gilead 1568, the son 1121 of Machir 4353, the son 1121 of Manasseh 4519, of the families 4940 of the sons 1121 of Joseph 3130, came 7126 near 7126 and spoke 1696 before 6440 Moses 4872 and before 6440 the leaders 5387a, the heads 7218 of the fathers’ 1 [households] of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, 36:2 and they said 559, “The LORD 3068 commanded 6680 my lord 113 to give 5414 the land 776 by lot 1486 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 as an inheritance 5159, and my lord 113 was commanded 6680 by the LORD 3068 to give 5414 the inheritance 5159 of Zelophehad 6765 our brother 251 to his daughters 1323. 36:3 “But if they marry 1961 802 one 259 of the sons 1121 of the [other] tribes 7626 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, their inheritance 5159 will be withdrawn 1639 from the inheritance 5159 of our fathers 1 and will be added 3254 to the inheritance 5159 of the tribe 4294 to which 834 they belong 1961; thus it will be withdrawn 1639 from our allotted 1486 inheritance 5159. 36:4 “When 518 the jubilee 3104 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 comes 1961, then their inheritance 5159 will be added 3254 to the inheritance 5159 of the tribe 4294 to which 834 they belong 1961; so their inheritance 5159 will be withdrawn 1639 from the inheritance 5159 of the tribe 4294 of our fathers 1.” 36:5 ¶ Then Moses 4872 commanded 6680 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 according 5921 to the word 6310 of the LORD 3068, saying 559, “The tribe 4294 of the sons 1121 of Joseph 3130 are right 3653a in [their] statements 1696. 36:6 “This 2088 is what 1697 834 the LORD 3068 has commanded 6680 concerning the daughters 1323 of Zelophehad 6765, saying 559, ‘Let them marry 1961 802 whom they wish 2896a 5869; only 389 they must marry 1961 802 within the family 4940 of the tribe 4294 of their father 1.’ 36:7 “Thus no 3808 inheritance 5159 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 shall be transferred 5437 from tribe 4294 to tribe 4294, for the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 shall each 376 hold 1692 to the inheritance 5159 of the tribe 4294 of his fathers 1. 36:8 “Every 3605 daughter 1323 who comes 3423 into possession 3423 of an inheritance 5159 of any 4480 tribe 4294 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 shall be wife 802 to one 259 of the family 4940 of the tribe 4294 of her father 1, so 4616 that the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 each 376 may possess 3423 the inheritance 5159 of his fathers 1. 36:9 “Thus no 3808 inheritance 5159 shall be transferred 5437 from one tribe 4294 to another 312 tribe 4294, for the tribes 4294 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 shall each 376 hold 1692 to his own inheritance 5159.” 36:10 ¶ Just 3512c as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 Moses 4872, so 3651 the daughters 1323 of Zelophehad 6765 did 6213a: 36:11 Mahlah 4244, Tirzah 8656, Hoglah 2295, Milcah 4435 and Noah 5270, the daughters 1323 of Zelophehad 6765 married 802 their uncles’ 1730 sons 1121. 36:12 They married 802 [those] from the families 4940 of the sons 1121 of Manasseh 4519 the son 1121 of Joseph 3130, and their inheritance 5159 remained 1961 with the tribe 4294 of the family 4940 of their father 1. 36:13 ¶ These 428 are the commandments 4687 and the ordinances 4941 which 834 the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 through 3027 Moses 4872 in the plains 6160 of Moab 4124 by the Jordan 3383 [opposite] Jericho 3405. |
