יִשׂרָאֵל,°
[even] the whole°
congregation,°
into the desert°
of
Xin
צִן°
in the first°
month:°
and the people°
abode°°
in
Käđëš
קָדֵשׁ;°
and
Miryäm
מִריָם°
died°°
there,°
and was buried°°
there.° |

20:1 ¶
Then came the children of Yisrael, [even] the whole congregation, into the desert of Tzin in the first month: and the people abode in Qadesh; and Miryam died there, and was buried there. |
|
20:2
And there was°
no°
water°
for the congregation:°
and they gathered°°
themselves together°
against°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה°
and against°
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן.° |

20:2
And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Mosheh and against Aharon. |
|
20:3
And the people°
chode°°
with°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה,°
and spake,°°
saying,°°
Would God°
that°
we had died°°
when our brethren°
died°°
before°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה!° |

And the people chode with Mosheh, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before Yahweh! |
|
20:4
And why°
have ye brought up°°°
the congregation°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
into°
this°
wilderness,°
that we°
and our cattle°
should die°°
there?° |

And why have ye brought up the congregation of Yahweh into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? |

20:5
And wherefore°
have ye made us to come up°°
out of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°°
to bring°°
us in°°
unto°
this°
evil°
place?°
it [is] no°
place°
of seed,°
or of figs,°
or of vines,°
or of pomegranates;°
neither°
[is] there any water°
to drink.°° |

And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Mitzrayim, to bring us in unto this evil place? it [is] no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither [is] there any water to drink. |

And

of the assembly°

the door°
of the tabernacle°
of the congregation,°
and they fell°°

their faces:°
and the glory°

them. |

And Mosheh and Aharon went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of Yahweh appeared unto them. |

20:7 ¶
And

spake°°
unto°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה,°
saying,°° |

20:7 ¶
And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh, saying, |

Take°°°
the rod,°
and gather°°
thou the assembly°
together,°°°
thou,°
and
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°
thy brother,°
and speak°°
ye unto°
the rock°
before their eyes;°
and it shall give forth°°
his water,°
and thou shalt bring forth°°
to them water°
out of°
the rock:°
so thou shalt give°°°
the congregation°
and their beasts°
drink.°° |

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aharon thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. |

And Mosheh took the rod from before Yahweh, as he commanded him. |

gathered°°
the congregation°
together°°°
before°°
the rock,°
and he said°°
unto them, Hear°°
now,°
ye rebels;°°
must we fetch°°
you water°
out of°
this°
rock?° |

And Mosheh and Aharon gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? |

20:11
And

lifted up°°°
his hand,°
and with his rod°
he smote°°°
the rock°
twice:°
and the water°
came out°°
abundantly,°
and the congregation°
drank,°°
and their beasts°
[also]. |

And Mosheh lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts [also]. |

20:12 ¶
And

unto°

´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן,°
Because°
ye believed°°
me not,°
to sanctify°°
me in the eyes°
of the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
therefore°
ye shall not°
bring°°°
this°
congregation°
into°
the land°
which°
I have given°°
them. |

20:12 ¶
And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh and Aharon, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Yisrael, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. |
|
20:13
This°
[is]°
the water°
of
Mærîvà
מְרִיבָה;°
because°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
strove°°
with°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and he was sanctified°°
in them. |

20:13
This [is] the water of Merivah; because the children of Yisrael strove with Yahweh, and he was sanctified in them. |
|
20:14 ¶
And

sent°°
messengers°
from
Käđëš
קָדֵשׁ°°
unto°
the king°
of
´Éđôm
אֱדוֹם,°
Thus°
saith°°
thy brother°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
Thou°
knowest°°°
all°
the travail°
that°
hath befallen°°
us: |

20:14 ¶
And Mosheh sent messengers from Qadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Yisrael, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us: |

How our fathers°
went down°°
into
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°
and we have dwelt°°
in
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם°
a long°
time;°
and the
Mixrîm
מִצרִים°
vexed°°
us, and our fathers:° |

How our fathers went down into Mitzrayim, and we have dwelt in Mitzrayim a long time; and the Mitzrim vexed us, and our fathers: |

And when we cried°°
unto°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
he heard°°
our voice,°
and sent°°
an angel,°
and hath brought us forth°°
out of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם:°°
and, behold,°
we°
[are] in
Käđëš
קָדֵשׁ,°
a city°
in the uttermost°
of thy border:° |

And when we cried unto Yahweh, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Mitzrayim: and, behold, we [are] in Qadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border: |

Let us pass,°°
I pray thee,°
through thy country:°
we will not°
pass°°
through°
the fields,°
or through the vineyards,°
neither°
will we drink°°
[of] the water°
of the wells:°
we will go°°°
by the king's°
[high] way,°
we will not°
turn°°
to the right hand°
nor to the left,°
until°°
we have passed°°
thy borders.° |

Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink [of] the water of the wells: we will go by the king's [high] way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders. |

20:18
And

him, Thou shalt not°
pass°°
by me, lest°
I come out°°
against°°
thee with the sword.° |

And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword. |

And the children°

Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
said°°
unto°
him, We will go°°
by the high way:°
and if°
I°
and my cattle°
drink°°
of thy water,°
then I will pay°°°
for it: I will only,°
without°
[doing] any thing°
[else], go through°°
on my feet.° |

And the children of Yisrael said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without [doing] any thing [else], go through on my feet. |

And he said,°°
Thou shalt not°
go through.°°
And

אֱדוֹם°
came out°°
against°°
him with much°
people,°
and with a strong°
hand.° |

And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand. |

Thus

refused°°
to give°°°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
passage°°
through his border:°
wherefore
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
turned away°°
from°°
him. |

Thus Edom refused to give Yisrael passage through his border: wherefore Yisrael turned away from him. |
|
20:22 ¶
And the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
[even] the whole°
congregation,°
journeyed°°
from
Käđëš
קָדֵשׁ,°°
and came°°
unto mount°
Hör
הֹר.° |

20:22 ¶
And the children of Yisrael, [even] the whole congregation, journeyed from Qadesh, and came unto mount Hor. |
|
20:23
And
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
spake°°
unto°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה°
and
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°
in mount°
Hör
הֹר,°
by°
the coast°
of the land°
of
´Éđôm
אֱדוֹם,°
saying,°° |

And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh and Aharon in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying, |

אַהֲרֹן°
shall be gathered°°
unto°
his people:°
for°
he shall not°
enter°°
into°
the land°
which°
I have given°°
unto the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
because°°
ye rebelled against°°°
my word°
at the water°
of
Mærîvà
מְרִיבָה.° |

Aharon shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Yisrael, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Merivah. |

20:25
Take°°°
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°
and
´El`äzär
אֶלעָזָר°
his son,°
and bring them up°°°
unto mount°
Hör
הֹר:° |

Take Aharon and Elazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor: |

And strip°°°
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°°
of his garments,°
and put°°
them upon°°
´El`äzär
אֶלעָזָר°
his son:°
and
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°
shall be gathered°°
[unto his people], and shall die°°
there.° |

And strip Aharon of his garments, and put them upon Elazar his son: and Aharon shall be gathered [unto his people], and shall die there. |

20:27
And

יָהוֶה°
commanded:°°
and they went up°°
into°
mount°

הֹר°
in the sight°
of all°
the congregation.° |

And Mosheh did as Yahweh commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. |

20:28
And

stripped°°°
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°°
of his garments,°
and put°°
them upon°°
´El`äzär
אֶלעָזָר°
his son;°
and
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°
died°°
there°
in the top°
of the mount:°
and
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה°
and
´El`äzär
אֶלעָזָר°
came down°°
from°
the mount.° |

And Mosheh stripped Aharon of his garments, and put them upon Elazar his son; and Aharon died there in the top of the mount: and Mosheh and Elazar came down from the mount. |

20:29
And when all°
the congregation°
saw°°
that°
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°
was dead,°°
they mourned°°
for°
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן°
thirty°
days,°
[even] all°
the house°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

20:29
And when all the congregation saw that Aharon was dead, they mourned for Aharon thirty days, [even] all the house of Yisrael. |
