 32:1 ¶ Now the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן° and the children° of Gäđ גָּד° had° a very° great° multitude° of cattle:° and when they saw°°° the land° of Ya`zër יַעזֵר,° and the land° of Gil`äđ גִּלעָד,° that, behold,° the place° [was] a place° for cattle;°

 32:1 ¶ Now the children of Reuven and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Yazer, and the land of Gilad, that, behold, the place [was] a place for cattle;

 32:2 The children° of Gäđ גָּד° and the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן° came°° and spake°° unto° Möšè מֹשֶׁה,° and to° ´El`äzär אֶלעָזָר° the priest,° and unto° the princes° of the congregation,° saying,°°

 32:2 The children of Gad and the children of Reuven came and spake unto Mosheh, and to Elazar the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,

 32:3 `Áţärôŧ עֲטָרוֹת,° and Dîvôn דִּיבוֹן,° and Ya`zër יַעזֵר,° and Nimrà נִמרָה,° and Çešbôn חֶשׁבּוֹן,° and ´El`älì אֶלעָלֵה,° and Ŝæväm שְׂבָם,° and Nævô נְבוֹ,° and Bæ`ön בְּעֹן,°

 32:3 Ataroth, and Divon, and Yazer, and Nimrah, and Cheshbon, and Elaleh, and Sevam, and Nevo, and Beon,

 32:4 [Even] the country° which° Yähwè יָהוֶה° smote°° before° the congregation° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,° [is] a land° for cattle,° and thy servants° have cattle:°

 32:4 [Even] the country which Yahweh smote before the congregation of Yisrael, [is] a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle:

 32:5 Wherefore, said°° they, if° we have found°° grace° in thy sight,° let° this° land° be given°° unto thy servants° for a possession,° [and] bring us not over°°°° Yardën יַרדֵּן.°

 32:5 Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, [and] bring us not over Yarden.

 32:6 ¶ And Möšè מֹשֶׁה° said°° unto the children° of Gäđ גָּד° and to the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן,° Shall your brethren° go°° to war,° and shall ye° sit°° here?°

 32:6 ¶ And Mosheh said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuven, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?

 32:7 And wherefore° discourage° ye°°°°° the heart° of the children° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° from going over°°° into° the land° which° Yähwè יָהוֶה° hath given°° them?

 32:7 And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Yisrael from going over into the land which Yahweh hath given them?

 32:8 Thus° did°° your fathers,° when I sent°° them from Käđëš Barnëå` קָדֵשׁ־בַּרנֵעַ°° to see°°° the land.°

 32:8 Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Qadesh-Barnea to see the land.

 32:9 For when they went up°° unto° the valley° of ´Ešcöl אֶשׁכֹּל,° and saw°°° the land,° they discouraged°°° the heart° of the children° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,° that they should not° go°° into° the land° which° Yähwè יָהוֶה° had given°° them.

 32:9 For when they went up unto the valley of Eshkol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Yisrael, that they should not go into the land which Yahweh had given them.

 32:10 And Yähwè's יָהוֶה° anger° was kindled°° the same° time,° and he sware,°° saying,°°

 32:10 And Yahweh's anger was kindled the same time, and he sware, saying,

 32:11 Surely° none of the men°° that came up°° out of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם,°° from twenty° years° old°° and upward,° shall see°°° the land° which° I sware°° unto ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם,° unto Yixçäk יִצחָק,° and unto Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב;° because° they have not° wholly°° followed° me:

 32:11 Surely none of the men that came up out of Mitzrayim, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Avraham, unto Yitzchaq, and unto Yaaqov; because they have not wholly followed me:

 32:12 Save° Cälëv כָּלֵב° the son° of Yæfunnè יְפֻנֶּה° the Kænizzî קְנִזִּי,° and Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַ° the son° of Nûn נוּן:° for° they have wholly°° followed° Yähwè יָהוֶה.°

 32:12 Save Kalev the son of Yefunneh the Qenizzi, and Yehoshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed Yahweh.

 32:13 And Yähwè's יָהוֶה° anger° was kindled°° against Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,° and he made them wander°° in the wilderness° forty° years,° until° all° the generation,° that had done°° evil° in the sight° of Yähwè יָהוֶה,° was consumed.°°

 32:13 And Yahweh's anger was kindled against Yisrael, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of Yahweh, was consumed.

 32:14 And, behold,° ye are risen up°° in your fathers'° stead,°° an increase° of sinful° men,°° to augment°°° yet° the fierce° anger° of Yähwè יָהוֶה° toward° Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.°

 32:14 And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Yahweh toward Yisrael.

 32:15 For° if ye turn away°° from after°° him, he will yet° again°° leave°°° them in the wilderness;° and ye shall destroy°° all° this° people.°

 32:15 For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.

 32:16 ¶ And they came near°° unto° him, and said,°° We will build°° sheepfolds°°° here° for our cattle,° and cities° for our little ones:°

 32:16 ¶ And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones:

 32:17 But we° ourselves° will go ready°° armed°°° before° the children° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,° until°°° we have brought°° them unto° their place:° and our little ones° shall dwell°° in the fenced° cities° because°° of the inhabitants°° of the land.°

 32:17 But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Yisrael, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

 32:18 We will not° return°° unto° our houses,° until° the children° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° have inherited°° every man° his inheritance.°

 32:18 We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Yisrael have inherited every man his inheritance.

 32:19 For° we will not° inherit°° with° them on yonder side°° Yardën יַרדֵּן,° or forward;° because° our inheritance° is fallen°° to° us on this side°° Yardën יַרדֵּן° eastward.°

 32:19 For we will not inherit with them on yonder side Yarden, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Yarden eastward.

 32:20 ¶ And Möšè מֹשֶׁה° said°° unto° them, If° ye will do°°° this° thing,° if° ye will go armed°° before° Yähwè יָהוֶה° to war,°

 32:20 ¶ And Mosheh said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before Yahweh to war,

 32:21 And will go°° all° of you armed°° over°°° Yardën יַרדֵּן° before° Yähwè יָהוֶה,° until° he hath driven out°°° his enemies°° from before°° him,

 32:21 And will go all of you armed over Yarden before Yahweh, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,

 32:22 And the land° be subdued°° before° Yähwè יָהוֶה:° then afterward° ye shall return,°° and be° guiltless° before Yähwè יָהוֶה,°° and before Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל;°° and this° land° shall be° your possession° before° Yähwè יָהוֶה.°

 32:22 And the land be subdued before Yahweh: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before Yahweh, and before Yisrael; and this land shall be your possession before Yahweh.

 32:23 But if° ye will not° do° so,°°° behold,° ye have sinned°° against Yähwè יָהוֶה:° and be sure°° your sin° will find you out.°°°

 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against Yahweh: and be sure your sin will find you out.

 32:24 Build°° you cities° for your little ones,° and folds° for your sheep;° and do°° that which hath proceeded°° out° of your mouth.°°

 32:24 Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.

 32:25 And the children° of Gäđ גָּד° and the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן° spake°° unto° Möšè מֹשֶׁה,° saying,°° Thy servants° will do°° as° my ´áđôn אֲדוֹן° commandeth.°°

 32:25 And the children of Gad and the children of Reuven spake unto Mosheh, saying, Thy servants will do as my adon commandeth.

 32:26 Our little ones,° our wives,° our flocks,° and all° our cattle,° shall be° there° in the cities° of Gil`äđ גִּלעָד:°

 32:26 Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilad:

 32:27 But thy servants° will pass over,°° every man° armed°° for war,° before° Yähwè יָהוֶה° to battle,° as° my ´áđôn אֲדוֹן° saith.°°

 32:27 But thy servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before Yahweh to battle, as my adon saith.

 32:28 So concerning them Möšè מֹשֶׁה° commanded°°° ´El`äzär אֶלעָזָר° the priest,° and Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַ° the son° of Nûn נוּן,° and the chief° fathers° of the tribes° of the children° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל:°

 32:28 So concerning them Mosheh commanded Elazar the priest, and Yehoshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Yisrael:

 32:29 And Möšè מֹשֶׁה° said°° unto° them, If° the children° of Gäđ גָּד° and the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן° will pass with you over°°°° Yardën יַרדֵּן,° every man° armed°° to battle,° before° Yähwè יָהוֶה,° and the land° shall be subdued°° before° you; then ye shall give°° them° the land° of Gil`äđ גִּלעָד° for a possession:°

 32:29 And Mosheh said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuven will pass with you over Yarden, every man armed to battle, before Yahweh, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilad for a possession:

 32:30 But if° they will not° pass over°° with° you armed,°° they shall have possessions°° among° you in the land° of Cænä`an כְּנָעַן.°

 32:30 But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Kenaan.

 32:31 And the children° of Gäđ גָּד° and the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן° answered,°° saying,°°° As° Yähwè יָהוֶה° hath said°° unto° thy servants,° so° will we do.°°

 32:31 And the children of Gad and the children of Reuven answered, saying, As Yahweh hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.

 32:32 We° will° pass over°° armed°° before° Yähwè יָהוֶה° into the land° of Cænä`an כְּנָעַן,° that the possession° of our inheritance° on this side°° Yardën יַרדֵּן° [may be] ours.

 32:32 We will pass over armed before Yahweh into the land of Kenaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Yarden [may be] ours.

 32:33 And Möšè מֹשֶׁה° gave°° unto them, [even] to the children° of Gäđ גָּד,° and to the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן,° and unto half° the tribe° of Mænaššè מְנַשֶּׁה° the son° of Yôsëf יוֹסֵף,°° the kingdom° of Sîçôn סִיחוֹן° king° of the ´Émörîm אֱמֹרִים,° and the kingdom° of `Ôq עוֹג° king° of Bäšän בָּשָׁן,° the land,° with the cities° thereof in the coasts,° [even] the cities° of the country° round about.°

 32:33 And Mosheh gave unto them, [even] to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuven, and unto half the tribe of Menashsheh the son of Yosef, the kingdom of Sichon king of the Emorim, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, [even] the cities of the country round about.

 32:34 ¶ And the children° of Gäđ גָּד° built°°° Dîvôn דִּיבוֹן,° and `Áţärôŧ עֲטָרוֹת,° and `Árö`ër עֲרֹעֵר,°

 32:34 ¶ And the children of Gad built Divon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,

 32:35 And `Aţröŧ עַטרֹת,° Šôfän שׁוֹפָן,° and Ya`zër יַעזֵר,° and Yoqbóhà יָגבֳּהָה,°

 32:35 And Atroth, Shofan, and Yazer, and Yogbohah,

 32:36 And Bêŧ Nimrà בֵּית־נִמרָה,° and Bêŧ Härän בֵּית־הָרָן,° fenced° cities:° and folds° for sheep.°

 32:36 And Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-Haran, fenced cities: and folds for sheep.

 32:37 And the children° of Ræ´ûvën רְאוּבֵן° built°°° Çešbôn חֶשׁבּוֹן,° and ´El`älì אֶלעָלֵה,° and Kiryäŧäyim קִריָתָיִם,°

 32:37 And the children of Reuven built Cheshbon, and Elaleh, and Qiryathayim,

 32:38 And Nævô נְבוֹ,° and Ba`al Mæ`ôn בַּעַל־מְעוֹן,° (their names° being changed,)°°° and° Ŝivmà שִׂבמָה:° and gave°° other names°°° unto the cities° which° they builded.°°

 32:38 And Nevo, and Baal-Meon, (their names being changed,) and Sivmah: and gave other names unto the cities which they builded.

 32:39 And the children° of Mäȼîr מָכִיר° the son° of Mænaššè מְנַשֶּׁה° went°°° to Gil`äđ גִּלעָד,° and took°° it, and dispossessed°°° the ´Émörî אֱמֹרִי° which° [was] in it.

 32:39 And the children of Makhir the son of Menashsheh went to Gilad, and took it, and dispossessed the Emori which [was] in it.

 32:40 And Möšè מֹשֶׁה° gave°°° Gil`äđ גִּלעָד° unto Mäȼîr מָכִיר° the son° of Mænaššè מְנַשֶּׁה;° and he dwelt°° therein.

 32:40 And Mosheh gave Gilad unto Makhir the son of Menashsheh; and he dwelt therein.

 32:41 And Yä´îr יָאִיר° the son° of Mænaššè מְנַשֶּׁה° went°° and took°°° the small towns° thereof, and called°° them Çawwöŧ Yä´îr חַוֹּת־יָאִיר.°

 32:41 And Yair the son of Menashsheh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Chawwoth-Yair.

 32:42 And Növaç נֹבַח° went°° and took°°° Kænäŧ קְנָת,° and the villages° thereof, and called°° it Növaç נֹבַח,° after his own name.°

 32:42 And Novach went and took Qenath, and the villages thereof, and called it Novach, after his own name.
