by a fountain°
which°
[is] in
Yizræ`e´l
יִזרְעֶאל.° |

29:1 ¶
Now the Pelishtim gathered together all their armies to Afeq: and the Yisreelim pitched by a fountain which [is] in Yizreel. |

And the lords°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
passed on°°
by hundreds,°
and by thousands:°
but
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
and his men°°
passed on°°
in the rereward°
with°
´Äȼîš
אָכִישׁ.° |

And the lords of the Pelishtim passed on by hundreds, and by thousands: but Dawid and his men passed on in the rereward with Akhish. |

the princes°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים,°
What°
[do] these°
`Ivrîm
עִברִים°
[here]? And
´Äȼîš
אָכִישׁ°
said°°
unto°
the princes°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים,°
[Is] not°
this°
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
the servant°
of
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
the king°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
which°
hath been°
with°
me these°
days,°
or°
these°
years,°
and I have found°°
no°
fault°
in him since°°
he fell°°
[unto me] unto°
this°
day?° |

Then said the princes of the Pelishtim, What [do] these Ivrim [here]? And Akhish said unto the princes of the Pelishtim, [Is] not this Dawid, the servant of Shaul the king of Yisrael, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell [unto me] unto this day? |

unto him, Make°°
this fellow°
return,°°°°
that he may go again°°

his place°

thou hast appointed°°
him, and let him not°
go down°°
with°
us to battle,°
lest°
in the battle°
he be°
an adversary°
to us: for wherewith°
should he reconcile°°
himself°
unto°
his
´áđôn
אֲדוֹן?°
[should it] not°
[be] with the heads°
of these°
men?°° |

And the princes of the Pelishtim were wroth with him; and the princes of the Pelishtim said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his adon? [should it] not [be] with the heads of these men? |

[Is] not this Dawid, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Shaul slew his thousands, and Dawid his ten thousands? |

Then

דָּוִד,°
and said°°
unto°
him, Surely, [as]
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
liveth,°
thou°
hast been upright,°
and thy going out°°
and thy coming in°°
with°
me in the host°
[is] good°
in my sight:°
for°
I have not°
found°°
evil°
in thee since the day°°
of thy coming°°
unto°
me unto°
this°
day:°
nevertheless the lords°°
favour°
thee°
not.°° |

Then Akhish called Dawid, and said unto him, Surely, [as] Yahweh liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host [is] good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not. |

Wherefore now°
return,°°
and go°°°
in peace,°
that thou displease°°°°
not°
the lords°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים.° |

Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Pelishtim. |

אָכִישׁ,°
But°
what°
have I done?°°
and what°
hast thou found°°
in thy servant°
so long°°
as°°
I have been°
with°
thee°
unto°
this°
day,°
that°
I may not°
go°°°
fight°°
against the enemies°°
of my
´áđôn
אֲדוֹן°
the king?° |

29:8 ¶
And Dawid said unto Akhish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my adon the king? |

29:9
And

אָכִישׁ°
answered°°
and said°°
to°
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
I know°°
that°
thou°
[art] good°
in my sight,°
as an angel°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:°
notwithstanding°
the princes°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
have said,°°
He shall not°
go up°°
with°
us to the battle.° |

29:9
And Akhish answered and said to Dawid, I know that thou [art] good in my sight, as an angel of Elohim: notwithstanding the princes of the Pelishtim have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle. |

29:10
Wherefore now°
rise up early°°
in the morning°
with thy
´áđôn's
אֲדוֹן°
servants°
that°
are come°°
with°
thee: and as soon as ye be up early°°
in the morning,°
and have light,°°°
depart.°°° |

Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy adon's servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart. |

rose up early°°
to depart°°°
in the morning,°
to return°°
into°
the land°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים.°
And the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
went up°°
to
Yizræ`e´l
יִזרְעֶאל.° |

29:11
So Dawid and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Pelishtim. And the Pelishtim went up to Yizreel. |
