unto°
Näçäš
נָחָשׁ,°
Make°°
a covenant°
with us, and we will serve°°
thee. |

11:1 ¶
Then Nachash the Ammoni came up, and encamped against Yavesh-Gilad: and all the men of Yavesh said unto Nachash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee. |

them, On this°
[condition] will I make°°
[a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out°°
all°
your right°
eyes,°
and lay°°
it [for] a reproach°

יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

And Nachash the Ammoni answered them, On this [condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Yisrael. |

11:3
And the elders°
of
Yävêš
יָבֵישׁ°
said°°
unto°
him, Give us seven°
days'°
respite,°°
that we may send°°
messengers°
unto all°
the coasts°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל:°
and then, if°
[there be] no man°
to save°°
us, we will come out°°
to°
thee. |

And the elders of Yavesh said unto him, Give us seven days' respite, that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of Yisrael: and then, if [there be] no man to save us, we will come out to thee. |
|
11:4 ¶
Then came°°
the messengers°
to

שָׁאוּל,°
and told°°
the tidings°
in the ears°
of the people:°
and all°
the people°
lifted up°°°
their voices,°
and wept.°° |

Then came the messengers to Givah of Shaul, and told the tidings in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept. |

And, behold,°
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
came°°
after°
the herd°
out of°
the field;°
and
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
said,°°
What°
[aileth] the people°
that°
they weep?°°
And they told°°
him°
the tidings°
of the men°°
of
Yävêš
יָבֵישׁ.° |

And, behold, Shaul came after the herd out of the field; and Shaul said, What [aileth] the people that they weep? And they told him the tidings of the men of Yavesh. |
|
11:6
And the Spirit°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
came°°
upon°
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
when he heard°°°
those°
tidings,°
and his anger°
was kindled°°
greatly.° |

And the Spirit of Elohim came upon Shaul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly. |

11:7
And he took°°
a yoke°
of oxen,°
and hewed them in pieces,°°
and sent°°
[them] throughout all°
the coasts°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
by the hands°
of messengers,°
saying,°°
Whosoever°
cometh not forth°°°
after°
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
and after°
Šæmû´ël
שְׁמוּאֵל,°
so°
shall it be done°°
unto his oxen.°
And the fear°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
fell°°
on°
the people,°
and they came out°°
with one°
consent.° |

11:7
And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent [them] throughout all the coasts of Yisrael by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Shaul and after Shemuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of Yahweh fell on the people, and they came out with one consent. |

And when he numbered°°
them in
Bezek
בֶּזֶק,°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
were°
three°
hundred°
thousand,°
and the men°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
thirty°
thousand.° |

11:8
And when he numbered them in Bezeq, the children of Yisrael were three hundred thousand, and the men of Yehudah thirty thousand. |
|
11:9
And they said°°
unto the messengers°
that came,°°
Thus°
shall ye say°°
unto the men°
of
Yävêš Gil`äđ
יָבֵישׁ־גִּלעָד,°°
To morrow,°
by [that time] the sun°
be hot,°
ye shall have°
help.°
And the messengers°
came°°
and shewed°°
[it] to the men°°
of
Yävêš
יָבֵישׁ;°
and they were glad.°° |

And they said unto the messengers that came, Thus shall ye say unto the men of Yavesh-Gilad, To morrow, by [that time] the sun be hot, ye shall have help. And the messengers came and shewed [it] to the men of Yavesh; and they were glad. |

11:10
Therefore the men°°
of
Yävêš
יָבֵישׁ°
said,°°
To morrow°
we will come out°°
unto°
you, and ye shall do°°
with us all°
that seemeth°
good°
unto you. |

11:10
Therefore the men of Yavesh said, To morrow we will come out unto you, and ye shall do with us all that seemeth good unto you. |
|
11:11
And it was°
[so] on the morrow,°°
that
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
put°°°
the people°
in three°
companies;°
and they came°°
into the midst°
of the host°
in the morning°
watch,°
and slew°°°
the
`Ammönîm
עַמֹּנִים°
until°
the heat°
of the day:°
and it came to pass,°
that they which remained°°
were scattered,°°
so that two°
of them were not°
left°°
together.° |

And it was [so] on the morrow, that Shaul put the people in three companies; and they came into the midst of the host in the morning watch, and slew the Ammonim until the heat of the day: and it came to pass, that they which remained were scattered, so that two of them were not left together. |

11:12 ¶
And the people°
said°°

Šæmû´ël
שְׁמוּאֵל,°
Who°
[is] he that said,°°
Shall
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
reign°°
over°
us? bring°°
the men,°°
that we may put them to death.°° |

11:12 ¶
And the people said unto Shemuel, Who [is] he that said, Shall Shaul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death. |

11:13
And
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
said,°°
There shall not°
a man°
be put to death°°
this°
day:°
for°
to day°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
hath wrought°°
salvation°
in
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

11:13
And Shaul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day Yahweh hath wrought salvation in Yisrael. |

Then said°°
Šæmû´ël
שְׁמוּאֵל°
to°
the people,°
Come,°°°
and let us go°°°
to
Gilgäl
גִּלגָּל,°
and renew°°
the kingdom°
there.° |

11:14
Then said Shemuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there. |

And all°
the people°
went°°°
to
Gilgäl
גִּלגָּל;°
and there°
they made

שָׁאוּל°
king°°°°
before°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
in
Gilgäl
גִּלגָּל;°
and there°
they sacrificed°°
sacrifices°
of peace offerings°
before°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;°
and there°
Šä´ûl
שָׁאוּל°
and all°
the men°°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
rejoiced°°
greatly.° |

11:15
And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Shaul king before Yahweh in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before Yahweh; and there Shaul and all the men of Yisrael rejoiced greatly. |
