1 Chronicles 13

1 David fetcheth the Ark with great solemnity from Kirjath-jearim. 9 Uzza being smitten, the Ark left at the house of Obed-edom.

 13:1 Then David 1732 consulted 3289 with the captains 8269 of the thousands 505 and the hundreds 3967, even with every 3605 leader 5057.

 13:2 David 1732 said 559 to all 3605 the assembly 6951 of Israel 3478, “If 518 it seems good 2895 to you, and if it is from the LORD 3068 our God 430, let us send 7971 everywhere 6555 to our kinsmen 251 who remain 7604 in all 3605 the land 776 of Israel 3478, also to the priests 3548 and Levites 3881 who are with them in their cities 5892b with pasture 4054 lands 4054, that they may meet 6908 with us;

 13:3 and let us bring 5437 back 5437 the ark 727 of our God 430 to us, for we did not seek 1875 it in the days 3117 of Saul 7586.”

 13:4 Then all 3605 the assembly 6951 said 559 that they would do 6213a so 3651, for the thing 1697 was right 3474 in the eyes 5869 of all 3605 the people 5971a.

 13:5 ¶ So David 1732 assembled 6950 all 3605 Israel 3478 together, from the Shihor 7883 of Egypt 4714 even to the entrance 935 of Hamath 2574, to bring 935 the ark 727 of God 430 from Kiriath-jearim 7157.

 13:6 David 1732 and all 3605 Israel 3478 went 5927 up to Baalah 1173, [that is], to Kiriath-jearim 7157, which 834 belongs to Judah 3063, to bring 5927 up from there 8033 the ark 727 of God 430, the LORD 3068 who is enthroned 3427 [above] the cherubim 3742, where 834 His name 8034 is called 7121.

 13:7 They carried 7392 the ark 727 of God 430 on a new 2319 cart 5699 from the house 1004 of Abinadab 41, and Uzza 5798 and Ahio 283 drove 5090a the cart 5699.

 13:8 David 1732 and all 3605 Israel 3478 were celebrating 7832 before 6440 God 430 with all 3605 [their] might 5797, even with songs 7892a and with lyres 3658, harps 5035b, tambourines 8596, cymbals 4700 and with trumpets 2689.

 13:9 ¶ When they came 935 to the threshing 1637 floor 1637 of Chidon 3592, Uzza 5798 put 7971 out his hand 3027 to hold 270 the ark 727, because 3588 the oxen 1241 nearly upset 8058 [it].

 13:10 The anger 639 of the LORD 3068 burned 2734 against Uzza 5798, so He struck 5221 him down 5221 because 5921 834 he put 7971 out his hand 3027 to the ark 727; and he died 4191 there 8033 before 6440 God 430.

 13:11 Then David 1732 became 2734 angry 2734 because 3588 of the LORD’S 3068 outburst 6555 6556 against Uzza 5798; and he called 7121 that place 4725 Perez-uzza 6560 to this 2088 day 3117.

 13:12 David 1732 was afraid 3372a of God 430 that day 3117, saying 559, “How 1963 can I bring 935 the ark 727 of God 430 [home] to me?”

 13:13 So David 1732 did not take 5493 the ark 727 with him to the city 5892b of David 1732, but took 5186 it aside 5186 to the house 1004 of Obed-edom 5654 the Gittite 1663.

 13:14 Thus the ark 727 of God 430 remained 3427 with the family 1004 of Obed-edom 5654 in his house 1004 three 7969 months 2320; and the LORD 3068 blessed 1288 the family 1004 of Obed-edom 5654 with all 3605 that he had.
