1 Chronicles 15

1 David, having prepared a place for the Ark, ordereth the priests and Levites to bring it from Obed-edom. 25 He performeth the solemnity thereof with great joy. 29 Michal despiseth him.

 15:1 Now [David] built 6213a houses 1004 for himself in the city 5892b of David 1732; and he prepared 3559 a place 4725 for the ark 727 of God 430 and pitched 5186 a tent 168 for it.

 15:2 Then 227 David 1732 said 559, “No 3808 one is to carry 5375 the ark 727 of God 430 but the Levites 3881; for the LORD 3068 chose 977 them to carry 5375 the ark 727 of God 430 and to minister 8334 to Him forever 5704 5769.”

 15:3 And David 1732 assembled 6950 all 3605 Israel 3478 at Jerusalem 3389 to bring 5927 up the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 to its place 4725 which 834 he had prepared 3559 for it.

 15:4 David 1732 gathered 622 together the sons 1121 of Aaron 175 and the Levites 3881:

 15:5 of the sons 1121 of Kohath 6955, Uriel 222 the chief 8269, and 120 3967 6242 of his relatives 251;

 15:6 of the sons 1121 of Merari 4847, Asaiah 6222 the chief 8269, and 220 3967 6242 of his relatives 251;

 15:7 of the sons 1121 of Gershom 1647, Joel 3100 the chief 8269, and 130 3967 7970 of his relatives 251;

 15:8 of the sons 1121 of Elizaphan 469, Shemaiah 8098 the chief 8269, and 200 3967 of his relatives 251;

 15:9 of the sons 1121 of Hebron 2275b, Eliel 447 the chief 8269, and 80 8084 of his relatives 251;

 15:10 of the sons 1121 of Uzziel 5816, Amminadab 5992 the chief 8269, and 112 3967 8147 6240 of his relatives 251.

 15:11 ¶ Then David 1732 called 7121 for Zadok 6659 and Abiathar 54 the priests 3548, and for the Levites 3881, for Uriel 222, Asaiah 6222, Joel 3100, Shemaiah 8098, Eliel 447 and Amminadab 5992,

 15:12 and said 559 to them, “You are the heads 7218 of the fathers’ 1 [households] of the Levites 3881; consecrate 6942 yourselves both you and your relatives 251, that you may bring 5927 up the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478 to [the place] that I have prepared 3559 for it.

 15:13 “Because 3588 you did not [carry it] at the first 7223, the LORD 3068 our God 430 made 6555 an outburst 6555 on us, for we did not seek 1875 Him according to the ordinance 4941.”

 15:14 So the priests 3548 and the Levites 3881 consecrated 6942 themselves to bring 5927 up the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478.

 15:15 The sons 1121 of the Levites 3881 carried 5375 the ark 727 of God 430 on their shoulders 3802 with the poles 4133 thereon 5921, as Moses 4872 had commanded 6680 according to the word 1697 of the LORD 3068.

 15:16 ¶ Then David 1732 spoke 559 to the chiefs 8269 of the Levites 3881 to appoint 5975 their relatives 251 the singers 7891, with instruments 3627 of music 7892a, harps 5035b, lyres 3658, loud-sounding 8085 cymbals 4700, to raise 7311 sounds 6963 of joy 8057.

 15:17 So the Levites 3881 appointed 5975 Heman 1968 the son 1121 of Joel 3100, and from his relatives 251, Asaph 623 the son 1121 of Berechiah 1296; and from the sons 1121 of Merari 4847 their relatives 251, Ethan 387 the son 1121 of Kushaiah 6984,

 15:18 and with them their relatives 251 of the second 4932 rank 4932, Zechariah 2148a, Ben 1122, Jaaziel 3268, Shemiramoth 8070, Jehiel 3171, Unni 6042, Eliab 446, Benaiah 1141, Maaseiah 4641, Mattithiah 4993, Eliphelehu 466, Mikneiah 4737, Obed-edom 5654 and Jeiel 3262, the gatekeepers 7778.

 15:19 So the singers 7891, Heman 1968, Asaph 623 and Ethan 387 [were appointed] to sound 8085 aloud cymbals 4700 of bronze 5178;

 15:20 and Zechariah 2148a, Aziel 5815, Shemiramoth 8070, Jehiel 3171, Unni 6042, Eliab 446, Maaseiah 4641 and Benaiah 1141, with harps 5035b [tuned] to alamoth 5961;

 15:21 and Mattithiah 4993, Eliphelehu 466, Mikneiah 4737, Obed-edom 5654, Jeiel 3262 and Azaziah 5812, to lead 5329 with lyres 3658 tuned to the sheminith 8066.

 15:22 Chenaniah 3663, chief 8269 of the Levites 3881, was [in charge of] the singing 4853a; he gave 3256 instruction 3256 in singing 4853a because 3588 he was skillful 995.

 15:23 Berechiah 1296 and Elkanah 511 were gatekeepers 7778 for the ark 727.

 15:24 Shebaniah 7645, Joshaphat 3092, Nethanel 5417, Amasai 6022, Zechariah 2148a, Benaiah 1141 and Eliezer 461, the priests 3548, blew 2690 the trumpets 2689 before 6440 the ark 727 of God 430. Obed-edom 5654 and Jehiah 3174 also [were] gatekeepers 7778 for the ark 727.

 15:25 ¶ So [it was] David 1732, with the elders 2205 of Israel 3478 and the captains 8269 over thousands 505, who went 1980 to bring 5927 up the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 from the house 1004 of Obed-edom 5654 with joy 8057.

 15:26 Because God 430 was helping 5826 the Levites 3881 who were carrying 5375 the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068, they sacrificed 2076 seven 7651 bulls 6499 and seven 7651 rams 352a.

 15:27 Now David 1732 was clothed 3736 with a robe 4598 of fine 948 linen 948 with all 3605 the Levites 3881 who were carrying 5375 the ark 727, and the singers 7891 and Chenaniah 3663 the leader 8269 of the singing 4853a [with] the singers 7891. David 1732 also wore 5921 an ephod 646 of linen 906.

 15:28 Thus all 3605 Israel 3478 brought 5927 up the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 with shouting 8643, and with sound 6963 of the horn 7782, with trumpets 2689, with loud-sounding 8085 cymbals 4700, with harps 5035b and lyres 3658.

 15:29 ¶ It happened 1961 when the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 came 935 to the city 5892b of David 1732, that Michal 4324 the daughter 1323 of Saul 7586 looked 8259 out of the window 2474 and saw 7200 King 4428 David 1732 leaping 7540 and celebrating 7832; and she despised 959 him in her heart 3820.
