1 The line of Reuben (who lost his birthright) unto the captivity. 9 Their habitation and conquest of Hagarites. 11 The chief men and habitations of Gad. 18 The number and conquest of Reuben, Gad, and the half of Manasseh. 23 The habitations and chief men of that tribe. 25 Their captivity for their sin.

 5:1 Now the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 the firstborn 1060 of Israel 3478 (for he was the firstborn 1060, but because he defiled 2490c his father’s 1 bed 3326, his birthright 1062 was given 5414 to the sons 1121 of Joseph 3130 the son 1121 of Israel 3478; so that he is not enrolled 3187 in the genealogy 3187 according to the birthright 1062.

 5:2 Though 3588 Judah 3063 prevailed 1396 over his brothers 251, and from him [came] the leader 5057, yet the birthright 1062 belonged to Joseph 3130),

 5:3 the sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 the firstborn 1060 of Israel 3478 [were] Hanoch 2585 and Pallu 6396, Hezron 2696 and Carmi 3756.

 5:4 The sons 1121 of Joel 3100 [were] Shemaiah 8098 his son 1121, Gog 1463 his son 1121, Shimei 8096 his son 1121,

 5:5 Micah 4318 his son 1121, Reaiah 7211 his son 1121, Baal 1168b his son 1121,

 5:6 Beerah 880 his son 1121, whom 834 Tilgath-pilneser 8407 king 4428 of Assyria 804b carried 1540 away 1540 into exile 1540; he was leader 5387a of the Reubenites 7206.

 5:15 Ahi 277 the son 1121 of Abdiel 5661, the son 1121 of Guni 1476, [was] head 7218 of their fathers’ 1 households 1004.

 5:16 They lived 3427 in Gilead 1568, in Bashan 1316 and in its towns 1323, and in all 3605 the pasture 4054 lands 4054 of Sharon 8289, as far 5921 as their borders 8444.

 5:17 All 3605 of these were enrolled 3187 in the genealogies 3187 in the days 3117 of Jotham 3147 king 4428 of Judah 3063 and in the days 3117 of Jeroboam 3379 king 4428 of Israel 3478.

 5:18 ¶ The sons 1121 of Reuben 7205 and the Gadites 1425 and the half-tribe 2677 7626 of Manasseh 4519, [consisting] of valiant 2428 men 1121, men 376 who bore 5375 shield 4043 and sword 2719 and shot 1869 with bow 7198 and [were] skillful 3925 in battle 4421, [were] 44,760 705 702 505 7651 3967 8346, who went 3318 to war 6635.

 5:19 They made 6213a war 4421 against 5973 the Hagrites 1905, Jetur 3195, Naphish 5305 and Nodab 5114.

 5:20 They were helped 5826 against 5921 them, and the Hagrites 1905 and all 3605 who [were] with them were given 5414 into their hand 3027; for they cried 2199 out to God 430 in the battle 4421, and He answered 6279 their prayers 6279 because 3588 they trusted 982 in Him.

 5:21 They took 7617 away 7617 their cattle 4735: their 50,000 2572 505 camels 1581, 250,000 3967 2572 505 sheep 6629, 2,000 505 donkeys 2543; and 100,000 3967 505 men 5315 120.

 5:22 For many 7227a fell 5307 slain 2491a, because 3588 the war 4421 [was] of God 430. And they settled 3427 in their place 8478 until 5704 the exile 1473.

 5:23 ¶ Now the sons 1121 of the half-tribe 2677 7626 of Manasseh 4519 lived 3427 in the land 776; from Bashan 1316 to Baal-hermon 1179 and Senir 8149 and Mount 2022 Hermon 2768 they were numerous 7235a.

 5:24 These 428 were the heads 7218 of their fathers’ 1 households 1004, even Epher 6081, Ishi 3469, Eliel 447, Azriel 5837, Jeremiah 3414, Hodaviah 1938 and Jahdiel 3164b, mighty 1368 men 376 of valor 2428, famous 8034 men 376, heads 7218 of their fathers’ 1 households 1004.

 5:25 ¶ But they acted 4603 treacherously 4603 against the God 430 of their fathers 1 and played 2181 the harlot 2181 after 310 the gods 430 of the peoples 5971a of the land 776, whom 834 God 430 had destroyed 8045 before 4480 6440 them.

 5:26 So the God 430 of Israel 3478 stirred 5782 up the spirit 7307 of Pul 6322, king 4428 of Assyria 804b, even the spirit 7307 of Tilgath-pilneser 8407 king 4428 of Assyria 804b, and he carried 1540 them away 1540 into exile 1540, namely the Reubenites 7206, the Gadites 1425 and the half-tribe 2677 7626 of Manasseh 4519, and brought 935 them to Halah 2477, Habor 2249, Hara 2024 and to the river 5104 of Gozan 1470, to this 2088 day 3117.
