1 Chronicles 24

1 The divisions of the sons of Aaron by lot into four and twenty orders. 20 The Kohathites, 27 and the Merarites divided by lot.

 24:1 Now the divisions 4256 of the descendants 1121 of Aaron 175 [were these]: the sons 1121 of Aaron 175 [were] Nadab 5070, Abihu 30, Eleazar 499 and Ithamar 385.

 24:2 But Nadab 5070 and Abihu 30 died 4191 before 6440 their father 1 and had 1961 no 3808 sons 1121. So Eleazar 499 and Ithamar 385 served 3547 as priests 3547.

 24:3 David 1732, with Zadok 6659 of the sons 1121 of Eleazar 499 and Ahimelech 288 of the sons 1121 of Ithamar 385, divided 2505a them according to their offices 6486 for their ministry 5656.

 24:4 Since more 7227a chief 7218 men 1397 were found 4672 from the descendants 1121 of Eleazar 499 than 4480 the descendants 1121 of Ithamar 385, they divided 2505a them thus: [there were] sixteen 8337a 6240 heads 7218 of fathers’ 1 households 1004 of the descendants 1121 of Eleazar 499 and eight 8083 of the descendants 1121 of Ithamar 385, according to their fathers’ 1 households 1004.

 24:5 Thus they were divided 2505a by lot 1486, the one 428 as the other 428; for they were officers 8269 of the sanctuary 6944 and officers 8269 of God 430, both from the descendants 1121 of Eleazar 499 and the descendants 1121 of Ithamar 385.

 24:6 Shemaiah 8098, the son 1121 of Nethanel 5417 the scribe 5613b, from the Levites 3881, recorded 3789 them in the presence 6440 of the king 4428, the princes 8269, Zadok 6659 the priest 3548, Ahimelech 288 the son 1121 of Abiathar 54, and the heads 7218 of the fathers’ 1 [households] of the priests 3548 and of the Levites 3881; one 259 father’s 1 household 1004 taken 270 for Eleazar 499 and one taken 270 for Ithamar 385.
