1 Chronicles 16

1 David's festival sacrifice. 4 He ordereth a choir to sing thanksgiving. 7 The psalm of thanksgiving. 37 He appointeth ministers, porters, priests, and musicians, to attend continually on the Ark.

 16:1 And they brought 935 in the ark 727 of God 430 and placed 3322 it inside 8432 the tent 168 which 834 David 1732 had pitched 5186 for it, and they offered 7126 burnt 5930a offerings 5930a and peace 8002 offerings 8002 before 6440 God 430.

 16:2 When David 1732 had finished 3615 offering 5927 the burnt 5930a offering 5930a and the peace 8002 offerings 8002, he blessed 1288 the people 5971a in the name 8034 of the LORD 3068.

 16:3 He distributed 2505a to everyone 3605 of Israel 3478, both 4480 man 376 and woman 802, to everyone 376 a loaf 3603 of bread 3899 and a portion 829 [of meat] and a raisin 809 cake 809.

 16:4 ¶ He appointed 5414 some 4480 of the Levites 3881 [as] ministers 8334 before 6440 the ark 727 of the LORD 3068, even to celebrate 2142 and to thank 3034 and praise 1984b the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478:

 16:5 Asaph 623 the chief 7218, and second 4932 to him Zechariah 2148a, [then] Jeiel 3262, Shemiramoth 8070, Jehiel 3171, Mattithiah 4993, Eliab 446, Benaiah 1141, Obed-edom 5654 and Jeiel 3262, with musical instruments 3627, harps 5035b, lyres 3658; also Asaph 623 [played] loud-sounding 8085 cymbals 4700,

 16:6 and Benaiah 1141 and Jahaziel 3166 the priests 3548 [blew] trumpets 2689 continually 8548 before 6440 the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of God 430.

 16:7 ¶ Then 227 on that day 3117 David 1732 first 7218 assigned 5414 Asaph 623 and his relatives 251 to give 3034 thanks 3034 to the LORD 3068.

 16:8 Oh give 3034 thanks 3034 to the LORD 3068, call 7121 upon His name 8034; Make 3045 known 3045 His deeds 5949 among the peoples 5971a.

 16:9 Sing 7891 to Him, sing 2167 praises 2167 to Him; Speak 7878 of all 3605 His wonders 6381.

 16:10 Glory 1984b in His holy 6944 name 8034; Let the heart 3820 of those who seek 1245 the LORD 3068 be glad 8055.

 16:11 Seek 1875 the LORD 3068 and His strength 5797; Seek 1245 His face 6440 continually 8548.

 16:12 Remember 2142 His wonderful 6381 deeds 6381 which 834 He has done 6213a, His marvels 4159 and the judgments 4941 from His mouth 6310,

 16:13 O seed 2233 of Israel 3478 His servant 5650, Sons 1121 of Jacob 3290, His chosen 972 ones 972!

 16:14 He is the LORD 3068 our God 430; His judgments 4941 are in all 3605 the earth 776.

 16:15 Remember 2142 His covenant 1285 forever 5769, The word 1697 which He commanded 6680 to a thousand 505 generations 1755,

 16:16 [The covenant] which 834 He made 3772 with Abraham 85, And His oath 7621 to Isaac 3327.

 16:17 He also confirmed 5975 it to Jacob 3290 for a statute 2706, To Israel 3478 as an everlasting 5769 covenant 1285,

 16:18 Saying 559, “To you I will give 5414 the land 776 of Canaan 3667a, As the portion 2256a of your inheritance 5159.”

 16:19 When they were only a few 4962 in number 4557, Very few 4592, and strangers 1481a in it,

 16:20 And they wandered 1980 about from nation 1471 to nation 1471, And from [one] kingdom 4467 to another 312 people 5971a,

 16:21 He permitted 5117 no 3808 man 376 to oppress 6231 them, And He reproved 3198 kings 4428 for their sakes 5921, [saying],

 16:22 “Do not touch 5060 My anointed 4899 ones 4899, And do 7489a My prophets 5030 no 408 harm 7489a.”

 16:23 Sing 7891 to the LORD 3068, all 3605 the earth 776; Proclaim 1319 good tidings 1319 of His salvation 3444 from day 3117 to day 3117.

 16:24 Tell 5608 of His glory 3519b among the nations 1471, His wonderful 6381 deeds 6381 among all 3605 the peoples 5971a.

 16:25 For great 1419 is the LORD 3068, and greatly 3966 to be praised 1984b; He also is to be feared 3372a above 5921 all 3605 gods 430.

 16:26 For all 3605 the gods 430 of the peoples 5971a are idols 457, But the LORD 3068 made 6213a the heavens 8064.

 16:27 Splendor 1935 and majesty 1926 are before 6440 Him, Strength 5797 and joy 2304 are in His place 4725.

 16:28 Ascribe 3051 to the LORD 3068, O families 4940 of the peoples 5971a, Ascribe 3051 to the LORD 3068 glory 3519b and strength 5797.

 16:29 Ascribe 3051 to the LORD 3068 the glory 3519b due His name 8034; Bring 5375 an offering 4503, and come 935 before 6440 Him; Worship 7812 the LORD 3068 in holy 6944 array 1927a.

 16:30 Tremble 2342a before 4480 6440 Him, all 3605 the earth 776; Indeed 637, the world 8398 is firmly 3559 established 3559, it will not be moved 4131.

 16:31 Let the heavens 8064 be glad 8055, and let the earth 776 rejoice 1523; And let them say 559 among the nations 1471, “The LORD 3068 reigns 4427a.”

 16:32 Let the sea 3220 roar 7481, and all 4393 it contains 4393; Let the field 7704 exult 5970, and all 3605 that is in it.

 16:33 Then 227 the trees 6086 of the forest 3293a will sing 7442 for joy 7442 before 4480 6440 the LORD 3068; For He is coming 935 to judge 8199 the earth 776.

 16:34 O give 3034 thanks 3034 to the LORD 3068, for [He is] good 2896a; For His lovingkindness 2617a is everlasting 5769.

 16:35 Then say 559, “Save 3467 us, O God 430 of our salvation 3468, And gather 6908 us and deliver 5337 us from the nations 1471, To give 3034 thanks 3034 to Your holy 6944 name 8034, And glory 7623b in Your praise 8416.”

 16:36 Blessed 1288 be the LORD 3068, the God 430 of Israel 3478, From everlasting 5769 even to everlasting 5769. Then all 3605 the people 5971a said 559, “Amen 543,” and praised 1984b the LORD 3068.

 16:37 ¶ So he left 5800a Asaph 623 and his relatives 251 there 8033 before 6440 the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 to minister 8334 before 6440 the ark 727 continually 8548, as every day’s 3117 work 1697 required 1697;

 16:38 and Obed-edom 5654 with his 68 8346 8083 relatives 251; Obed-edom 5654, also the son 1121 of Jeduthun 3038, and Hosah 2621 as gatekeepers 7778.

 16:39 [He left] Zadok 6659 the priest 3548 and his relatives 251 the priests 3548 before 6440 the tabernacle 4908 of the LORD 3068 in the high 1116 place 1116 which 834 [was] at Gibeon 1391,

 16:40 to offer 5927 burnt 5930a offerings 5930a to the LORD 3068 on the altar 4196 of burnt 5930a offering 5930a continually 8548 morning 1242 and evening 6153, even according to all 3605 that is written 3789 in the law 8451 of the LORD 3068, which 834 He commanded 6680 Israel 3478.

 16:41 With them [were] Heman 1968 and Jeduthun 3038, and the rest 7605 who were chosen 1305, who 834 were designated 5344a by name 8034, to give 3034 thanks 3034 to the LORD 3068, because 3588 His lovingkindness 2617a is everlasting 5769.

 16:42 And with them [were] Heman 1968 and Jeduthun 3038 [with] trumpets 2689 and cymbals 4700 for those who should sound 8085 aloud, and [with] instruments 3627 [for] the songs 7892a of God 430, and the sons 1121 of Jeduthun 3038 for the gate 8179.

 16:43 ¶ Then all 3605 the people 5971a departed 1980 each 376 to his house 1004, and David 1732 returned 5437 to bless 1288 his household 1004.
