1 Chronicles 22

1 David, foreknowing the place of the Temple, prepareth abundance for the building of it. 6 He instucteth Solomon in God's promises, and his duty in building the Temple. 17 He chargeth the princes to assist his son.

 22:1 Then David 1732 said 559, “This 2088 is the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 God 430, and this 2088 is the altar 4196 of burnt 5930a offering 5930a for Israel 3478.”

 22:2 ¶ So David 1732 gave 559 orders 559 to gather 3664 the foreigners 1616 who 834 were in the land 776 of Israel 3478, and he set 5975 stonecutters 2672 to hew 2672 out stones 68 to build 1129 the house 1004 of God 430.

 22:3 David 1732 prepared 3559 large 7230 quantities 7230 of iron 1270 to make the nails 4548 for the doors 1817 of the gates 8179 and for the clamps 4226, and more 7230 bronze 5178 than could be weighed 4948;

 22:4 and timbers 6086 of cedar 730 logs beyond 369 number 4557, for the Sidonians 6722 and Tyrians 6876 brought 935 large 7230 quantities 7230 of cedar 730 timber 6086 to David 1732.

 22:5 David 1732 said 559, “My son 1121 Solomon 8010 is young 5288 and inexperienced 7390, and the house 1004 that is to be built 1129 for the LORD 3068 shall be exceedingly 4605 magnificent 1431, famous 8034 and glorious 8597 throughout all 3605 lands 776. [Therefore] now 4994 I will make 3559 preparation 3559 for it.” So David 1732 made 3559 ample 7230 preparations 3559 before 6440 his death 4194.

 22:6 ¶ Then he called 7121 for his son 1121 Solomon 8010, and charged 6680 him to build 1129 a house 1004 for the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478.

 22:7 David 1732 said 559 to Solomon 8010, “My son 1121, I had intended 3824 to build 1129 a house 1004 to the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 my God 430.

 22:8 “But the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559, ‘You have shed 8210 much 7230 blood 1818 and have waged 6213a great 1419 wars 4421; you shall not build 1129 a house 1004 to My name 8034, because 3588 you have shed 8210 [so] much 7227a blood 1818 on the earth 776 before 6440 Me.

 22:9 ‘Behold 2009, a son 1121 will be born 3205 to you, who 1931 shall be a man 376 of rest 4496; and I will give 5117 him rest 5117 from all 3605 his enemies 340 on every 5439 side 5439; for his name 8034 shall be Solomon 8010, and I will give 5414 peace 7965 and quiet 8253 to Israel 3478 in his days 3117.

 22:10 ‘He shall build 1129 a house 1004 for My name 8034, and he shall be My son 1121 and I will be his father 1; and I will establish 3559 the throne 3678 of his kingdom 4438 over 5921 Israel 3478 forever 5704 5769.’

 22:11 “Now 6258, my son 1121, the LORD 3068 be with you that you may be successful 6743b, and build 1129 the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 your God 430 just 3512c as He has spoken 1696 concerning 5921 you.

 22:12 “Only 389 the LORD 3068 give 5414 you discretion 7922 and understanding 998, and give 6680 you charge 6680 over 5921 Israel 3478, so that you may keep 8104 the law 8451 of the LORD 3068 your God 430.

 22:13 “Then 227 you will prosper 6743b, if 518 you are careful 8104 to observe 6213a the statutes 2706 and the ordinances 4941 which 834 the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 Moses 4872 concerning 5921 Israel 3478. Be strong 2388 and courageous 553, do not fear 3372a nor 408 be dismayed 2865.

 22:14 “Now behold 2009, with great 6040a pains 6040a I have prepared 3559 for the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 100,000 3967 505 talents 3603 of gold 2091 and 1,000,000 505 505 talents 3603 of silver 3701, and bronze 5178 and iron 1270 beyond 369 weight 4948, for they are in great 7230 quantity 7230; also timber 6086 and stone 68 I have prepared 3559, and you may add 3254 to them.

 22:15 “Moreover, there are many 7230 workmen 4399 6213a with you, stonecutters 2672 and masons 2796 of stone 68 and carpenters 2796 6086, and all 3605 men 2450 who are skillful 2450 in every 3605 kind of work 4399.

 22:16 “Of the gold 2091, the silver 3701 and the bronze 5178 and the iron 1270 there 369 is no 369 limit 4557. Arise 6965 and work 6213a, and may the LORD 3068 be with you.”

 22:17 ¶ David 1732 also commanded 6680 all 3605 the leaders 8269 of Israel 3478 to help 5826 his son 1121 Solomon 8010, [saying],

 22:18 “Is not the LORD 3068 your God 430 with you? And has He not given 5117 you rest 5117 on every 5439 side 5439? For He has given 5414 the inhabitants 3427 of the land 776 into my hand 3027, and the land 776 is subdued 3533 before 6440 the LORD 3068 and before 6440 His people 5971a.

 22:19 “Now 6258 set 5414 your heart 3824 and your soul 5315 to seek 1875 the LORD 3068 your God 430; arise 6965, therefore, and build 1129 the sanctuary 4720 of the LORD 3068 God 430, so that you may bring 935 the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 and the holy 6944 vessels 3627 of God 430 into the house 1004 that is to be built 1129 for the name 8034 of the LORD 3068.”
