1 Chronicles 28

1 David, in a solemn assembly, having declared God's favour to him, and promise to his son Solomon, exhorteth them to fear God. 9, 20 He encourageth Solomon to build the Temple. 11 He giveth him patterns for the form, and gold and silver for the materials.

 28:1 Now David 1732 assembled 6950 at Jerusalem 3389 all 3605 the officials 8269 of Israel 3478, the princes 8269 of the tribes 7626, and the commanders 8269 of the divisions 4256 that served 8334 the king 4428, and the commanders 8269 of thousands 505, and the commanders 8269 of hundreds 3967, and the overseers 8269 of all 3605 the property 7399 and livestock 4735 belonging to the king 4428 and his sons 1121, with the officials 5631 and the mighty 1368 men 1368, even all 3605 the valiant 2428 men 1368.

 28:2 Then King 4428 David 1732 rose 6965 to his feet 7272 and said 559, “Listen 8085 to me, my brethren 251 and my people 5971a; I [had] intended 3824 to build 1129 a permanent 4496 home 1004 for the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 and for the footstool 1916 7272 of our God 430. So I had made 3559 preparations 3559 to build 1129 [it].

 28:3 “But God 430 said 559 to me, ‘You shall not build 1129 a house 1004 for My name 8034 because 3588 you are a man 376 of war 4421 and have shed 8210 blood 1818.’

 28:4 “Yet, the LORD 3068, the God 430 of Israel 3478, chose 977 me from all 3605 the house 1004 of my father 1 to be king 4428 over 5921 Israel 3478 forever 5769. For He has chosen 977 Judah 3063 to be a leader 5057; and in the house 1004 of Judah 3063, my father’s 1 house 1004, and among the sons 1121 of my father 1 He took 7521 pleasure 7521 in me to make 4427a [me] king 4427a over 5921 all 3605 Israel 3478.

 28:5 “Of all 3605 my sons 1121 (for the LORD 3068 has given 5414 me many 7227a sons 1121), He has chosen 977 my son 1121 Solomon 8010 to sit 3427 on the throne 3678 of the kingdom 4438 of the LORD 3068 over 5921 Israel 3478.

 28:6 “He said 559 to me, ‘Your son 1121 Solomon 8010 is the one who 1931 shall build 1129 My house 1004 and My courts 2691a; for I have chosen 977 him to be a son 1121 to Me, and I will be a father 1 to him.

 28:7 ‘I will establish 3559 his kingdom 4438 forever 5704 5769 if 518 he resolutely 2388 performs 6213a My commandments 4687 and My ordinances 4941, as is done now 3117.’

 28:8 “So now 6258, in the sight 5869 of all 3605 Israel 3478, the assembly 6951 of the LORD 3068, and in the hearing 241 of our God 430, observe 8104 and seek 1875 after 1875 all 3605 the commandments 4687 of the LORD 3068 your God 430 so 4616 that you may possess 5157 the good 2896a land 776 and bequeath 5157 [it] to your sons 1121 after 310 you forever 5704 5769.

 28:9 ¶ “As for you, my son 1121 Solomon 8010, know 3045 the God 430 of your father 1, and serve 5647 Him with a whole 8003 heart 3820 and a willing 2655 mind 5315; for the LORD 3068 searches 1875 all 3605 hearts 3824, and understands 995 every 3605 intent 3336 of the thoughts 4284. If 518 you seek 1875 Him, He will let you find 4672 Him; but if 518 you forsake 5800a Him, He will reject 2186a you forever 5703.

 28:10 “Consider 7200 now 6258, for the LORD 3068 has chosen 977 you to build 1129 a house 1004 for the sanctuary 4720; be courageous 2388 and act 6213a.”

 28:11 ¶ Then David 1732 gave 5414 to his son 1121 Solomon 8010 the plan 8403 of the porch 197 [of the temple], its buildings 1004, its storehouses 1597, its upper 5944 rooms 5944, its inner 6442 rooms 2315 and the room 1004 for the mercy 3727 seat 3727;

 28:12 and the plan 8403 of all 3605 that he had 1961 in mind 7307, for the courts 2691a of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, and for all 3605 the surrounding 5439 rooms 3957, for the storehouses 214 of the house 1004 of God 430 and for the storehouses 214 of the dedicated 6944 things 6944;

 28:13 also for the divisions 4256 of the priests 3548 and the Levites 3881 and for all 3605 the work 4399 of the service 5656 of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and for all 3605 the utensils 3627 of service 5656 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068;

 28:14 for the golden 2091 [utensils], the weight 4948 of gold 2091 for all 3605 utensils 3627 for every 3605 kind 5656 of service 5656; for the silver 3701 utensils 3627, the weight 4948 [of silver] for all 3605 utensils 3627 for every 3605 kind 5656 of service 5656;

 28:15 and the weight 4948 [of gold] for the golden 2091 lampstands 4501 and their golden 2091 lamps 5216, with the weight 4948 of each lampstand 4501 and its lamps 5216; and [the weight of silver] for the silver 3701 lampstands 4501, with the weight 4948 of each lampstand 4501 and its lamps 5216 according to the use 5656 of each 4501 lampstand 4501;

 28:16 and the gold 2091 by weight 4948 for the tables 7979 of showbread 4635, for each 7979 table 7979; and silver 3701 for the silver 3701 tables 7979;

 28:17 and the forks 4207b, the basins 4219, and the pitchers 7184 of pure 2889 gold 2091; and for the golden 2091 bowls 3713a with the weight 4948 for each 3713a bowl 3713a; and for the silver 3701 bowls 3713a with the weight 4948 for each 3713a bowl 3713a;

 28:18 and for the altar 4196 of incense 7004 refined 2212 gold 2091 by weight 4948; and gold 2091 for the model 8403 of the chariot 4818, [even] the cherubim 3742 that spread 6566 out [their wings] and covered 5526a the ark 727 of the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068.

 28:19 ¶ “All 3605 [this],” [said David], “the LORD 3068 made me understand 7919a in writing 3791 by His hand 3027 upon me, all 3605 the details 4399 of this pattern 8403.”

 28:20 ¶ Then David 1732 said 559 to his son 1121 Solomon 8010, “Be strong 2388 and courageous 553, and act 6213a; do not fear 3372a nor 408 be dismayed 2865, for the LORD 3068 God 430, my God 430, is with you. He will not fail 7503 you nor 3808 forsake 5800a you until 5704 all 3605 the work 4399 for the service 5656 of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 is finished 3615.

 28:21 “Now behold 2009, [there are] the divisions 4256 of the priests 3548 and the Levites 3881 for all 3605 the service 5656 of the house 1004 of God 430, and every 3605 willing 5081 man 5081 of any 3605 skill 2451 will be with you in all 3605 the work 4399 for all 3605 kinds of service 5656. The officials 8269 also and all 3605 the people 5971a will be entirely 3605 at your command 1697.”
