24:1 ¶
And Yehoshua gathered all the tribes of Yisrael to Shekhem, and called for the elders of Yisrael, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before Elohim. |

And Yehoshua said unto all the people, Thus saith Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, [even] Terach, the father of Avraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other elohim. |

from the other side°°
of the flood,°

him throughout all°
the land°

his seed,°

And I took your father Avraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Kenaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Yitzchaq. |

and I gave°°

it; but

יַעֲקֹב°
and his children°
went down°°
into
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם.° |

And I gave unto Yitzchaq Yaaqov and Esaw: and I gave unto Esaw mount Seir, to possess it; but Yaaqov and his children went down into Mitzrayim. |

and I plagued°°°

according to that which°
I did°°

them: and afterward°

unto the sea;°

your fathers°
with chariots°
and horsemen°

And I brought your fathers out of Mitzrayim: and ye came unto the sea; and the Mitzrim pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Suf sea. |

And when they cried°°

יָהוֶה,°
he put°°
darkness°
between°
you and the
Mixrîm
מִצרִים,°
and brought°°°
the sea°
upon°
them, and covered°°
them; and your eyes°
have seen°°°
what°
I have done°°
in
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם:°
and ye dwelt°°
in the wilderness°
a long°
season.° |

And when they cried unto Yahweh, he put darkness between you and the Mitzrim, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Mitzrayim: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season. |

And I brought°°
you into°
the land°
of the

אֱמֹרִים,°
which dwelt°°
on the other side°
Yardën
יַרדֵּן;°
and they fought°°
with°
you: and I gave°°
them into your hand,°
that ye might possess°°°
their land;°
and I destroyed°°
them from before°°
you. |

And I brought you into the land of the Emorim, which dwelt on the other side Yarden; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you. |

Then Balaq the son of Tzippor, king of Moav, arose and warred against Yisrael, and sent and called Bilam the son of Beor to curse you: |

unto

בִּלעָם;°
therefore he blessed°°
you still:°°
so I delivered°°
you out of his hand.°° |

And ye went over Yarden, and came unto Yericho: and the men of Yericho fought against you, the Emorim, and the Perizzim, and the Kenaanim, and the Chittim, and the Girgashim, the Chiwwim, and the Yevusim; and I delivered them into your hand. |

And I sent°°°
the hornet°
before°
you, which drave them out°°°
from before°°
you, [even] the two°
kings°
of the

אֱמֹרִים;°
[but] not°
with thy sword,°
nor°
with thy bow.° |

you a land°
for which°
ye did not°
labour,°°
and cities°

in them; of the vineyards°
and oliveyards°

And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat. |

24:14 ¶
Now therefore°

and serve°°
him in sincerity°
and in truth:°
and put away°°°
the
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
which°
your fathers°
served°°
on the other side°
of the flood,°
and in
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם;°
and serve°°
ye°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

24:14 ¶
Now therefore fear Yahweh, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the elohim which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Mitzrayim; and serve ye Yahweh. |
|
24:15
And if°
it seem evil°°
unto you°°
to serve°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
choose°°
you this day°°
whom°°
ye will serve;°°
whether°°
the
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
which°
your fathers°
served°°
that°
[were] on the other side°
of the flood,°
or°°
the
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of the
´Émörîm
אֱמֹרִים,°
in whose land°
ye°
dwell:°°
but as for me°
and my house,°
we will serve°°°

יָהוֶה.° |

24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve Yahweh, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the elohim which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the elohim of the Emorim, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh. |
|
24:16
And the people°

God forbid°
that we should forsake°°°°

יָהוֶה,°
to serve°°
other°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים;° |

24:16
And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake Yahweh, to serve other elohim; |

24:17

Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
our
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
he°
[it is] that brought°
us up°°
and our fathers°
out of the land°°
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°
from the house°°
of bondage,°
and which°
did°°
those°
great°°
signs°
in our sight,°
and preserved°°
us in all°
the way°
wherein°
we went,°°
and among all°
the people°
through°
whom we passed:°° |

For Yahweh our Elohim, he [it is] that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Mitzrayim, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: |

And Yahweh drave out from before us all the people, even the Emorim which dwelt in the land: [therefore] will we also serve Yahweh; for he [is] our Elohim. |

the people,°
Ye cannot°°°
serve°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה:°
for°
he°
[is] an holy°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים;°
he°
[is] a jealous°
´Ël
אֵל;°
he will not°
forgive°°
your transgressions°
nor your sins.° |

24:19
And Yehoshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve Yahweh: for he [is] an holy Elohim; he [is] a jealous El; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. |
|
24:20
If°
ye forsake°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and serve°°
strange°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
then he will turn°°
and do you hurt,°°
and consume°°
you, after°
that°
he hath done you good.°° |
|
24:20
If ye forsake Yahweh, and serve strange elohim, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. |
|
24:21
And the people°
said°°
unto°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ,°
Nay;°
but°
we will serve°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |
|
24:21
And the people said unto Yehoshua, Nay; but we will serve Yahweh. |

24:22
And
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
said°°
unto°
the people,°
Ye°
[are] witnesses°
against yourselves that°
ye°
have chosen°°
you°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
to serve°°
him. And they said,°°
[We are] witnesses.° |

And Yehoshua said unto the people, Ye [are] witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you Yahweh, to serve him. And they said, [We are] witnesses. |

24:23
Now°
therefore put away,°°
[said he], the°
strange°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
which°
[are] among°
you, and incline°°°
your heart°
unto°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

24:23
Now therefore put away, [said he], the strange elohim which [are] among you, and incline your heart unto Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael. |
|
24:24
And the people°
said°°
unto°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ,°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
our
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
will we serve,°°
and his voice°
will we obey.°° |

24:24
And the people said unto Yehoshua, Yahweh our Elohim will we serve, and his voice will we obey. |
|
24:25
So
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
made°°
a covenant°
with the people°
that°
day,°
and set°°
them a statute°
and an ordinance°
in
Šæȼem
שְׁכֶם.° |
|
24:25
So Yehoshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shekhem. |
|
24:26 ¶
And
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
wrote°°
these°°
words°
in the book°
of the law°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and took°°
a great°
stone,°
and set it up°°
there°
under°
an oak,°
that°
[was] by the sanctuary°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

24:26 ¶
And Yehoshua wrote these words in the book of the law of Elohim, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that [was] by the sanctuary of Yahweh. |
|
24:27
And
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
said°°
unto°
all°
the people,°
Behold,°
this°
stone°
shall be°
a witness°
unto us; for°
it°
hath heard°°°
all°
the words°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
which°
he spake°°
unto°
us: it shall be°
therefore a witness°
unto you, lest°
ye deny°°
your
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.° |

24:27
And Yehoshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of Yahweh which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your Elohim. |
|
24:28

unto his inheritance.° |
|
24:28
So Yehoshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance. |

24:29 ¶
And it came to pass°
after°

things,°

יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
the son°

Nûn
נוּן,°
the servant°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
died,°°
[being] an hundred°
and ten°
years°
old.°° |

24:29 ¶
And it came to pass after these things, that Yehoshua the son of Nun, the servant of Yahweh, died, [being] an hundred and ten years old. |
|
24:30
And they buried°°
him in the border°
of his inheritance°
in
Timnaŧ Seraç
תִּמנַת־סֶרַח,°
which°
[is] in mount°
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם,°
on the north side°°
of the hill°
of
Gä`aš
גָּעַשׁ.° |

24:30
And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-Serach, which [is] in mount Efrayim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash. |
|
24:31
And

And Yisrael served Yahweh all the days of Yehoshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Yehoshua, and which had known all the works of Yahweh, that he had done for Yisrael. |

And the bones°

the children°

יִשׂרָאֵל°
brought up°°
out of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°°
buried°°
they in

And the bones of Yosef, which the children of Yisrael brought up out of Mitzrayim, buried they in Shekhem, in a parcel of ground which Yaaqov bought of the sons of Chamor the father of Shekhem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Yosef. |

And Elazar the son of Aharon died; and they buried him in a hill [that pertained to] Pinchas his son, which was given him in mount Efrayim. |
