11:1 ¶
And it came to pass, when Yavin king of Chatzor had heard [those things], that he sent to Yovav king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Akhshaf, |

11:2
And to°
the kings°
that°
[were] on the north°°
of the mountains,°
and of the plains°
south°
of
Cinrôŧ
כִּנרוֹת,°
and in the valley,°
and in the borders°
of
Dôr
דּוֹר°
on the west,°° |

11:2
And to the kings that [were] on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Kinroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west, |

[And to] the
Cæna`ánî
כְּנַעֲנִי°
on the east°°
and on the west,°°
and [to] the
´Émörî
אֱמֹרִי,°
and the
Çittî
חִתִּי,°
and the
Pærizzî
פְּרִזִּי,°
and the
Yævûsî
יְבוּסִי°
in the mountains,°
and [to] the
Çiwwî
חִוִּי°
under°
Çermôn
חֶרמוֹן°
in the land°
of
Mixpà
מִצפָּה.° |

11:3
[And to] the Kenaani on the east and on the west, and [to] the Emori, and the Chitti, and the Perizzi, and the Yevusi in the mountains, and [to] the Chiwwi under Chermon in the land of Mitzpah. |

11:4
And they went out,°°
they°
and all°
their hosts°
with°
them, much°
people,°
even as the sand°
that°
[is] upon°
the sea°
shore°
in multitude,°
with horses°
and chariots°
very°
many.° |

And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that [is] upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many. |

And when all°
these°
kings°
were met together,°°
they came°°
and pitched°°
together°
at°
the waters°
of
Mërôm
מֵרוֹם,°
to fight°°
against°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Yisrael. |

11:6 ¶
And

יָהוֶה°

unto°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ,°
Be not°
afraid°°
because°
of°°
them: for°
to morrow°
about this°
time°
will I°
deliver them up°°°
all°
slain°
before°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל:°
thou shalt hough°°°
their horses,°
and burn°°
their chariots°
with fire.° |

And Yahweh said unto Yehoshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Yisrael: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. |

them by°
the waters°

suddenly;°
and they fell°
upon°°
them. |

So Yehoshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them. |

And

delivered°°
them into the hand°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
who smote°°
them, and chased°°
them unto°
great°
Xîđôn
צִידוֹן,°
and unto°
Miŝræfôŧ Mayim
מִשׂרְפוֹת־מַיִם,°
and unto°
the valley°
of
Mixpà
מִצפָּה°
eastward;°
and they smote°°
them, until°
they left°°
them none°
remaining.° |

And Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Yisrael, who smote them, and chased them unto great Tzidon, and unto Misrefoth-Mayim, and unto the valley of Mitzpah eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining. |

11:9
And

unto them as°
Yähwè

bade°°
him: he houghed°°°
their horses,°
and burnt°°
their chariots°
with fire.° |

And Yehoshua did unto them as Yahweh bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire. |

11:10 ¶
And

יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
at that°
time°
turned back,°°
and took°°°
Çäxôr
חָצוֹר,°
and smote°°
the king°
thereof with the sword:°
for°
Çäxôr
חָצוֹר°
beforetime°
was the head°
of all°
those°
kingdoms.° |

11:10 ¶
And Yehoshua at that time turned back, and took Chatzor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Chatzor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms. |

11:11
And they smote°°°
all°
the souls°
that°
[were] therein with the edge°
of the sword,°
utterly destroying°°
[them]: there was not°
any°
left°°
to breathe:°
and he burnt°°
Çäxôr
חָצוֹר°
with fire.° |

And they smote all the souls that [were] therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying [them]: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Chatzor with fire. |

the cities°
of those°
kings,°

and smote°°
them with the edge°
of the sword,°
[and] he utterly destroyed°°
them, as°

the servant°

Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
commanded.°° |

And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Yehoshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, [and] he utterly destroyed them, as Mosheh the servant of Yahweh commanded. |

11:13
But°
[as for] the cities°
that stood°°
still°
in°
their strength,°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
burned°°
none°
of them, save°°
Çäxôr
חָצוֹר°
only;°
[that] did
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
burn.°° |

But [as for] the cities that stood still in their strength, Yisrael burned none of them, save Chatzor only; [that] did Yehoshua burn. |
|
11:14
And all°
the spoil°
of these°
cities,°
and the cattle,°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
took for a prey°°
unto themselves; but°°
every°
man°
they smote°°
with the edge°
of the sword,°
until°
they had destroyed°°
them, neither°
left°°
they any°
to breathe.° |

11:15 ¶
As Yahweh commanded Mosheh his servant, so did Mosheh command Yehoshua, and so did Yehoshua; he left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Mosheh. |

land,°
the hills,°

the south country,°
and all°
the land°

Göšen
גֹּשֶׁן,°
and the valley,°
and the plain,°
and the mountain°

יִשׂרָאֵל,°
and the valley°
of the same; |

11:16
So Yehoshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Yisrael, and the valley of the same; |

[Even] from°
the mount°
Çäläk
חָלָק,°
that goeth up°°
to
Ŝë`îr
שֵׂעִיר,°
even unto°
Ba`al Gäđ
בַּעַל־גָּד°
in the valley°
of
Lævänôn
לְבָנוֹן°
under°
mount°
Çermôn
חֶרמוֹן:°
and all°
their kings°
he took,°°
and smote°°
them, and slew°°
them. |

11:17
[Even] from the mount Chalaq, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-Gad in the valley of Levanon under mount Chermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them. |

11:18

war°
a long°
time°
with°
all°
those°
kings.° |

Yehoshua made war a long time with all those kings. |

11:19
There was°
not°
a city°
that°
made peace°°
with°
the children°

Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
save°
the
Çiwwîm
חִוִּים°
the inhabitants°°
of
Giv`ôn
גִּבעוֹן:°°
all°
[other] they took°°
in battle.° |

11:19
There was not a city that made peace with the children of Yisrael, save the Chiwwim the inhabitants of Givon: all [other] they took in battle. |

11:20
For°
it was°
of°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
to harden°°°
their hearts,°
that they should come against°°°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
in battle,°
that°
he might destroy°
them utterly,°°
[and] that they might have°
no°
favour,°
but°
that°
he might destroy°°
them, as°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
commanded°°°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה.° |

11:20
For it was of Yahweh to harden their hearts, that they should come against Yisrael in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, [and] that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as Yahweh commanded Mosheh. |

11:21 ¶
And at that°
time°
came°°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ,°
and cut off°°°
the
`Ánäkîm
עֲנָקִים°
from°
the mountains,°
from°
Çevrôn
חֶברוֹן,°
from°
Dævîr
דְּבִיר,°
from°
`Ánäv
עֲנָב,°
and from all°°
the mountains°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and from all°°
the mountains°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל:°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
destroyed°
them utterly°°
with°
their cities.° |

11:21 ¶
And at that time came Yehoshua, and cut off the Anaqim from the mountains, from Chevron, from Devir, from Anav, and from all the mountains of Yehudah, and from all the mountains of Yisrael: Yehoshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. |

11:22
There was none°
of the
`Ánäkîm
עֲנָקִים°
left°°
in the land°
of the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל:°
only°
in
`Azzà
עַזָּה,°
in
Gaŧ
גַּת,°
and in
´Ašdôđ
אַשׁדּוֹד,°
there remained.°° |

11:22
There was none of the Anaqim left in the land of the children of Yisrael: only in Azzah, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained. |

11:23
So
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
took°°°
the whole°
land,°
according to all°
that°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
said°°
unto°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה;°
and
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
gave°°
it for an inheritance°
unto
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
according to their divisions°
by their tribes.°
And the land°
rested°°
from war.°° |

11:23
So Yehoshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh said unto Mosheh; and Yehoshua gave it for an inheritance unto Yisrael according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. |
