And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Yarden, that Yahweh spake unto Yehoshua, saying, |

Take°°
you twelve°°
men°°
out of°
the people,°
out of every°
tribe°
a man,°°°° |
|
4:2
Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man, |
|
4:3
And command°°
ye them, saying,°°
Take°°
you hence°°
out of the midst°°
of
Yardën
יַרדֵּן,°
out of the place°°
where the priests'°
feet°
stood°
firm,°°
twelve°°
stones,°
and ye shall carry them over°°°
with°
you, and leave°°°
them in the lodging place,°
where°
ye shall lodge°°
this night.° |

And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Yarden, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night. |

Then Yehoshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Yisrael, out of every tribe a man: |

unto them, Pass over°°

the ark°

Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
your
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
into°
the midst°
of
Yardën
יַרדֵּן,°
and take ye up°°
every°
man°
of you a°
stone°
upon°
his shoulder,°
according unto the number°
of the tribes°
of the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל:° |

And Yehoshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of Yahweh your Elohim into the midst of Yarden, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Yisrael: |

That°
this°
may be°
a sign°
among°
you, [that] when°
your children°
ask°°
[their fathers] in time to come,°
saying,°°
What°
[mean] ye by these°
stones?° |

That this may be a sign among you, [that] when your children ask [their fathers] in time to come, saying, What [mean] ye by these stones? |

4:7
Then ye shall answer°°
them, That°
the waters°
of
Yardën
יַרדֵּן°
were cut off°°
before°°
the ark°
of the covenant°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;°
when it passed over°°
Yardën
יַרדֵּן,°
the waters°
of
Yardën
יַרדֵּן°
were cut off:°°
and these°
stones°
shall be°
for a memorial°
unto the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
for°
ever.°° |

Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Yarden were cut off before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh; when it passed over Yarden, the waters of Yarden were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Yisrael for ever. |

commanded,°°
and took up°°

stones°
out of the midst°°

Yardën

unto°

according to the number°
of the tribes°
of the children°

יִשׂרָאֵל,°
and carried them over°°
with°
them unto°
the place where they lodged,°
and laid them down°°°
there.° |

And the children of Yisrael did so as Yehoshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Yarden, as Yahweh spake unto Yehoshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Yisrael, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there. |

And Yehoshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Yarden, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day. |

For the priests°
which bare°°
the ark°
stood°°
in the midst°

Yardën
יַרדֵּן,°
until°
every thing°°
was finished°°
that°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
commanded°°°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
to speak°°
unto°
the people,°
according to all°
that°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה°
commanded°°°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ:°
and the people°
hasted°°
and passed over.°° |

4:10 ¶
For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Yarden, until every thing was finished that Yahweh commanded Yehoshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Mosheh commanded Yehoshua: and the people hasted and passed over. |

And it came to pass,°
when°
all°
the people°
were clean°°
passed over,°°
that the ark°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
passed over,°°
and the priests,°
in the presence°
of the people.° |

And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of Yahweh passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people. |

armed°

the children°

And the children of Reuven, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Menashsheh, passed over armed before the children of Yisrael, as Mosheh spake unto them: |

prepared°°
for war°
passed over°°
before°

unto battle,°
to°
the plains°
of
Yærîçô
יְרִיחוֹ.° |

About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before Yahweh unto battle, to the plains of Yericho. |

4:14 ¶
On that°
day°

יָהוֶה°
magnified°°°

יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
in the sight°
of all°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל;°
and they feared°°
him, as°
they feared°°°
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה,°
all°
the days°
of his life.° |

4:14 ¶
On that day Yahweh magnified Yehoshua in the sight of all Yisrael; and they feared him, as they feared Mosheh, all the days of his life. |

And

יְהוֹשֻׁעַ,°
saying,°° |

And Yahweh spake unto Yehoshua, saying, |

the priests°
that bear°°
the ark°
of the testimony,°
that they come up°°
out of°
Yardën
יַרדֵּן.° |

Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Yarden. |

therefore commanded°°°
the priests,°

Come ye up°°

Yardën

Yehoshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Yarden. |

And it came to pass,°
when the priests°
that bare°°
the ark°
of the covenant°

יָהוֶה°
were come up°°
out of the midst°°
of
Yardën
יַרדֵּן,°
[and] the soles°
of the priests'°
feet°
were lifted up°°
unto°
the dry land,°
that the waters°
of
Yardën
יַרדֵּן°
returned°°
unto their place,°
and flowed°°°
over°
all°
his banks,°
as°
[they did] before.° |

And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of Yahweh were come up out of the midst of Yarden, [and] the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Yarden returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as [they did] before. |

4:19 ¶
And the people°
came up°°
out of°
Yardën
יַרדֵּן°
on the tenth°
[day] of the first°
month,°
and encamped°°
in
Gilgäl
גִּלגָּל,°
in the east°
border°
of
Yærîçô
יְרִיחוֹ.° |

4:19 ¶
And the people came up out of Yarden on the tenth [day] of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Yericho. |

And those°
twelve°°
stones,°
which°
they took°
out°°
of°
Yardën
יַרדֵּן,°
did
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
pitch°°
in
Gilgäl
גִּלגָּל.° |

4:20
And those twelve stones, which they took out of Yarden, did Yehoshua pitch in Gilgal. |

4:21
And he spake°°
unto°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
saying,°°
When°
your children°
shall ask°°°
their fathers°
in time to come,°
saying,°°
What°
[mean] these°
stones?° |

And he spake unto the children of Yisrael, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What [mean] these stones? |

Then ye shall let°
your children°
know,°°

on dry land.° |

Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Yisrael came over this Yarden on dry land. |

dried up°°°
the waters°

Yardën
יַרדֵּן°
from before°°
you, until°
ye were passed over,°°
as°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°

´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
did°°
to the
Sûf
סוּף°
sea,°
which°
he dried up°°
from before°°
us, until°
we were gone over:°° |

For Yahweh your Elohim dried up the waters of Yarden from before you, until ye were passed over, as Yahweh your Elohim did to the Suf sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over: |

That°
all°
the people°
of the earth°
might know°°°
the hand°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
that°
it°
[is] mighty:°
that°
ye might fear°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
your
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
for ever.°° |

4:24
That all the people of the earth might know the hand of Yahweh, that it [is] mighty: that ye might fear Yahweh your Elohim for ever. |
