Ephesians 4

1 He exhorteth to unity, 7 and declareth that God therefore giveth divers 11 gifts unto men, that his Church might be 13 edified, and 16 grown up in Christ. 18 He calleth them from the impurity of the Gentiles, 24 to put on the new man, 25 to cast off lying, and 29 corrupt communication.

 4:1 Therefore 3767 I, the prisoner 1198 of the Lord 2962, implore 3870 you to walk 4043 in a manner 516 worthy 516 of the calling 2821 with which 3739 you have been called 2564,

 4:2 with all 3956 humility 5012a and gentleness 4240, with patience 3115, showing 430 tolerance 430 for one 240 another 240 in love 26,

 4:3 being diligent 4704 to preserve 5083 the unity 1775b of the Spirit 4151 in the bond 4886 of peace 1515.

 4:4 [There is] one 1520 body 4983 and one 1520 Spirit 4151, just 2531a as also 2532 you were called 2564 in one 1520 hope 1680 of your calling 2821;

 4:5 one 1520 Lord 2962, one 1520 faith 4102, one 1520 baptism 908,

 4:6 one 1520 God 2316 and Father 3962 of all 3956 who 3588 is over 1909 all 3956 and through 1223 all 3956 and in all 3956.

 4:7 ¶ But to each 1538 one 1520 of us grace 5485 was given 1325 according 2596 to the measure 3358 of Christ’s 5547 gift 1431.

 4:8 Therefore 1352 it says 3004, “WHEN HE ASCENDED 305 ON HIGH 5311, HE LED 162 CAPTIVE 162 A HOST 161 OF CAPTIVES 161, AND HE GAVE 1325 GIFTS 1390 TO MEN 444.”

 4:9 (Now 1161 this 3588 [expression], “He ascended 305,” what 5101 does it mean 1510 except 1508 that He also 2532 had descended 2597 into the lower 2737a parts 3313 of the earth 1093?

 4:10 He who descended 2597 is Himself 846 also 2532 He who ascended 305 far 5231 above 5231 all 3956 the heavens 3772, so 2443 that He might fill 4137 all 3956 things 3956.)

 4:11 And He gave 1325 some 3588 3303a [as] apostles 652, and some 3588 [as] prophets 4396, and some 3588 [as] evangelists 2099, and some 3588 [as] pastors 4166 and teachers 1320,

 4:12 for the equipping 2677 of the saints 40 for the work 2041 of service 1248, to the building 3619 up of the body 4983 of Christ 5547;

 4:13 until 3360 we all 3956 attain 2658 to the unity 1775b of the faith 4102, and of the knowledge 1922 of the Son 5207 of God 2316, to a mature 5046 man 435, to the measure 3358 of the stature 2244 which belongs to the fullness 4138 of Christ 5547.

 4:14 As a result 2443, we are no 3371 longer 3371 to be children 3516, tossed 2831 here 2831 and there 2831 by waves 2831 and carried 4064 about 4064 by every 3956 wind 417 of doctrine 1319, by the trickery 2940 of men 444, by craftiness 3834 in deceitful 4106 scheming 3180;

 4:15 but speaking 226 the truth 226 in love 26, we are to grow 837 up in all 3956 [aspects] into Him who 3739 is the head 2776, [even] Christ 5547,

 4:17 ¶ So 3767 this 3778 I say 3004, and affirm 3143 together 1722 with the Lord 2962, that you walk 4043 no 3371 longer 3371 just 2531a as the Gentiles 1484 also 2532 walk 4043, in the futility 3153 of their mind 3563,

 4:18 being 1510 darkened 4656 in their understanding 1271, excluded 526 from the life 2222 of God 2316 because 1223 of the ignorance 52 that is in them, because 1223 of the hardness 4457 of their heart 2588;

 4:19 and they, having become 524 callous 524, have given 3860 themselves 1438 over 3860 to sensuality 766 for the practice 2039 of every 3956 kind 3956 of impurity 167 with greediness 4124.

 4:20 But you did not learn 3129 Christ 5547 in this 3779 way 3779,

 4:21 if 1487 indeed 1065 you have heard 191 Him and have been taught 1321 in Him, just 2531a as truth 225 is in Jesus 2424,

 4:22 that, in reference 2596 to your former 4387 manner 391 of life 391, you lay 659 aside 659 the old 3820 self 444, which is being corrupted 5351 in accordance 2596 with the lusts 1939 of deceit 539,

 4:23 and that you be renewed 365 in the spirit 4151 of your mind 3563,

 4:24 and put 1746a on the new 2537 self 444, which in [the likeness of] God 2316 has been created 2936 in righteousness 1343 and holiness 3742 of the truth 225.

 4:25 ¶ Therefore 1352, laying 659 aside 659 falsehood 5579, SPEAK 2980 TRUTH 225 EACH 1538 ONE 1538 [of you] WITH HIS NEIGHBOR 4139, for we are members 3196 of one 240 another 240.

 4:26 BE ANGRY 3710, AND [yet] DO NOT SIN 264; do not let the sun 2246 go 1931 down 1931 on your anger 3950,

 4:27 and do not give 1325 the devil 1228 an opportunity 5117.

 4:28 He who steals 2813 must steal 2813 no 3371 longer 3371; but rather 3123 he must labor 2872, performing 2038b with his own 2398 hands 5495 what 18 is good 18, so 2443 that he will have 2192 [something] to share 3330 with one 3588 who has 2192 need 5532.

 4:29 Let no 3361 3956 unwholesome 4550 word 3056 proceed 1607 from your mouth 4750, but only 1487 such 5100 [a word] as is good 18 for edification 3619 according to the need 5532 [of the moment], so 2443 that it will give 1325 grace 5485 to those 3588 who hear 191.

 4:30 Do not grieve 3076 the Holy 40 Spirit 4151 of God 2316, by whom 3739 you were sealed 4972 for the day 2250 of redemption 629.

 4:31 Let all 3956 bitterness 4088 and wrath 2372 and anger 3709 and clamor 2906 and slander 988 be put 142 away 142 from you, along 4862 with all 3956 malice 2549.

 4:32 Be kind 5543 to one 240 another 240, tender-hearted 2155, forgiving 5483 each 1438 other 1438, just 2531a as God 2316 in Christ 5547 also 2532 has forgiven 5483 you.
