Ephesians 2

1 By comparing what we were by 3 nature, with what we are by 5 grace, 10 he declareth, that we are made for good works: and 13 being brought near by Christ, should not live as 11 Gentiles, and 12 foreigners in time past, but as 19 citizens with the saints, and the family of God.

 2:1 And you were dead 3498 in your trespasses 3900 and sins 266,

 2:2 in which 3739 you formerly 4218 walked 4043 according 2596 to the course 165 of this 3778 world 2889, according 2596 to the prince 758 of the power 1849 of the air 109, of the spirit 4151 that is now 3568 working 1754 in the sons 5207 of disobedience 543.

 2:3 Among 1722 them we too 2532 all 3956 formerly 4218 lived 390 in the lusts 1939 of our flesh 4561, indulging 4160 the desires 2307 of the flesh 4561 and of the mind 1271, and were by nature 5449 children 5043 of wrath 3709, even 2532 as the rest 3062.

 2:4 But God 2316, being 1510 rich 4145 in mercy 1656, because 1223 of His great 4183 love 26 with which 3739 He loved 25 us,

 2:5 even 2532 when we were dead 3498 in our transgressions 3900, made 4806 us alive 4806 together 4806 with Christ 5547 (by grace 5485 you have been 1510 saved 4982),

 2:6 and raised 4891 us up with Him, and seated 4776 us with Him in the heavenly 2032 [places] in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424,

 2:7 so 2443 that in the ages 165 to come 1904 He might show 1731 the surpassing 5235 riches 4149 of His grace 5485 in kindness 5544 toward 1909 us in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424.

 2:8 For by grace 5485 you have been saved 4982 through 1223 faith 4102; and that not of yourselves 4771, [it is] the gift 1435 of God 2316;

 2:9 not as a result 1537 of works 2041, so 2443 that no 3361 one 5100 may boast 2744.

 2:10 For we are His workmanship 4161, created 2936 in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424 for good 18 works 2041, which 3739 God 2316 prepared 4282 beforehand 4282 so 2443 that we would walk 4043 in them.

 2:11 ¶ Therefore 1352 remember 3421 that formerly 4218 you, the Gentiles 1484 in the flesh 4561, who are called 3004 “Uncircumcision 203” by the so-called 3004 “Circumcision 4061,” [which is] performed 5499 in the flesh 4561 by human 5499 hands 5499—

 2:12 [remember] that you were at that time 2540 separate 5565 from Christ 5547, excluded 526 from the commonwealth 4174 of Israel 2474, and strangers 3581 to the covenants 1242 of promise 1860, having 2192 no 3361 hope 1680 and without 112 God 112 in the world 2889.

 2:13 But now 3570 in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424 you who 3739 formerly 4218 were far 3112 off 3112 have been 1096 brought 1096 near 1451 by the blood 129 of Christ 5547.

 2:14 For He Himself 846 is our peace 1515, who made 4160 both 297 [groups into] one 1520 and broke 3089 down 3089 the barrier 5418 of the dividing 3320 wall 3320,

 2:15 by abolishing 2673 in His flesh 4561 the enmity 2189b, [which is] the Law 3551 of commandments 1785 [contained] in ordinances 1378, so 2443 that in Himself 846 He might make 2936 the two 1417 into one 1520 new 2537 man 444, [thus] establishing 4160 peace 1515,

 2:16 and might reconcile 604 them both 297 in one 1520 body 4983 to God 2316 through 1223 the cross 4716, by it having put 615 to death 615 the enmity 2189b.

 2:17 AND HE CAME 2064 AND PREACHED 2097 PEACE 1515 TO YOU WHO 3588 WERE FAR 3112 AWAY 3112, AND PEACE 1515 TO THOSE 3588 WHO WERE NEAR 1451;

 2:18 for through 1223 Him we both 297 have 2192 our access 4318 in one 1520 Spirit 4151 to the Father 3962.

 2:19 So 686 then 686 you are no 3765 longer 3765 strangers 3581 and aliens 3941, but you are fellow 4847 citizens 4847 with the saints 40, and are of God’s 2316 household 3609b,

 2:20 having been built 2026 on the foundation 2310b of the apostles 652 and prophets 4396, Christ 5547 Jesus 2424 Himself 846 being 1510 the corner 204 [stone],

 2:21 in whom 3739 the whole 3956 building 3619, being fitted 4883 together 4883, is growing 837 into a holy 40 temple 3485 in the Lord 2962,

 2:22 in whom 3739 you also 2532 are being built 4925 together 4925 into a dwelling 2732 of God 2316 in the Spirit 4151.
