Deuteronomy 7

1 All communion with the nations is forbidden, 4 for fear of idolatry, 6 for the holiness of the people, 9 for the nature of God in his mercy and justice, 17 for the assuredness of victory which God will give over them.

 7:1 “When 3588 the LORD 3068 your God 430 brings 935 you into the land 776 where 834 8033 you are entering 935 to possess 3423 it, and clears 5394 away 5394 many 7227a nations 1471 before 4480 6440 you, the Hittites 2850 and the Girgashites 1622 and the Amorites 567 and the Canaanites 3669a and the Perizzites 6522 and the Hivites 2340 and the Jebusites 2983, seven 7651 nations 1471 greater 7227a and stronger 6099 than 4480 you,

 7:2 and when the LORD 3068 your God 430 delivers 5414 them before 6440 you and you defeat 5221 them, then you shall utterly 2763a destroy 2763a them. You shall make 3772 no 3808 covenant 1285 with them and show 2603a no 3808 favor 2603a to them.

 7:3 “Furthermore, you shall not intermarry 2859 with them; you shall not give 5414 your daughters 1323 to their sons 1121, nor 3808 shall you take 3947 their daughters 1323 for your sons 1121.

 7:4 “For they will turn 5493 your sons 1121 away 5493 from following 310 Me to serve 5647 other 312 gods 430; then the anger 639 of the LORD 3068 will be kindled 2734 against you and He will quickly 4118b destroy 8045 you.

 7:5 “But thus 3541 you shall do 6213a to them: you shall tear 5422 down 5422 their altars 4196, and smash 7665 their [sacred] pillars 4676, and hew 1438 down 1438 their Asherim 842, and burn 8313 their graven 6456 images 6456 with fire 784.

 7:6 “For you are a holy 6918 people 5971a to the LORD 3068 your God 430; the LORD 3068 your God 430 has chosen 977 you to be a people 5971a for His own possession 5459 out of all 3605 the peoples 5971a who 834 are on the face 6440 of the earth 127.

 7:7 ¶ “The LORD 3068 did not set 2836a His love 2836a on you nor 3808 choose 977 you because 3588 you were more 7231 in number 7231 than 4480 any 3605 of the peoples 5971a, for you were the fewest 4592 of all 3605 peoples 5971a,

 7:8 but because 3588 the LORD 3068 loved 157 you and kept 8104 the oath 7621 which 834 He swore 7650 to your forefathers 1, the LORD 3068 brought 3318 you out by a mighty 2389 hand 3027 and redeemed 6299 you from the house 1004 of slavery 5650, from the hand 3027 of Pharaoh 6547 king 4428 of Egypt 4714.

 7:9 “Know 3045 therefore that the LORD 3068 your God 430, He is God 430, the faithful 539 God 410, who keeps 8104 His covenant 1285 and His lovingkindness 2617a to a thousandth 505 generation 1755 with those who love 157 Him and keep 8104 His commandments 4687;

 7:10 but repays 7999a those who hate 8130 Him to their faces 6440, to destroy 6 them; He will not delay 309 with him who hates 8130 Him, He will repay 7999a him to his face 6440.

 7:11 “Therefore, you shall keep 8104 the commandment 4687 and the statutes 2706 and the judgments 4941 which 834 I am commanding 6680 you today 3117, to do 6213a them.

 7:12 ¶ “Then it shall come 1961 about, because 6118 you listen 8085 to these 428 judgments 4941 and keep 8104 and do 6213a them, that the LORD 3068 your God 430 will keep 8104 with you His covenant 1285 and His lovingkindness 2617a which 834 He swore 7650 to your forefathers 1.

 7:13 “He will love 157 you and bless 1288 you and multiply 7235a you; He will also bless 1288 the fruit 6529 of your womb 990 and the fruit 6529 of your ground 127, your grain 1715 and your new 8492 wine 8492 and your oil 3323, the increase 7698 of your herd 504 and the young 6251 of your flock 6629, in the land 127 which 834 He swore 7650 to your forefathers 1 to give 5414 you.

 7:14 “You shall be blessed 1288 above 4480 all 3605 peoples 5971a; there will be no 3808 male or female barren 6135 among you or among your cattle 929.

 7:15 “The LORD 3068 will remove 5493 from you all 3605 sickness 2483; and He will not put 7760 on you any 3605 of the harmful 7451a diseases 4064 of Egypt 4714 which 834 you have known 3045, but He will lay 5414 them on all 3605 who hate 8130 you.

 7:16 “You shall consume 398 all 3605 the peoples 5971a whom 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 will deliver 5414 to you; your eye 5869 shall not pity 2347 them, nor 3808 shall you serve 5647 their gods 430, for that [would be] a snare 4170 to you.

 7:17 ¶ “If 3588 you should say 559 in your heart 3824, ‘These 428 nations 1471 are greater 7227a than 4480 I; how 351a can 3201 I dispossess 3423 them?’

 7:18 you shall not be afraid 3372a of them; you shall well 2142 remember 2142 what 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 did 6213a to Pharaoh 6547 and to all 3605 Egypt 4714:

 7:19 the great 1419 trials 4531b which 834 your eyes 5869 saw 7200 and the signs 226 and the wonders 4159 and the mighty 2389 hand 3027 and the outstretched 5186 arm 2220 by which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 brought 3318 you out. So 3651 shall the LORD 3068 your God 430 do 6213a to all 3605 the peoples 5971a of whom 834 you are afraid 3372a.

 7:20 “Moreover 1571, the LORD 3068 your God 430 will send 7971 the hornet 6880 against them, until 5704 those who are left 7604 and hide 5641 themselves from you perish 6.

 7:21 “You shall not dread 6206 them, for the LORD 3068 your God 430 is in your midst 7130, a great 1419 and awesome 3372a God 410.

 7:22 “The LORD 3068 your God 430 will clear 5394 away 5394 these 411 nations 1471 before 4480 6440 you little 4592 by little 4592; you will not be able 3201 to put 3615 an end 3615 to them quickly 4118b, for the wild 7704 beasts 2421b would grow 7235a too 5921 numerous 7235a for you.

 7:23 “But the LORD 3068 your God 430 will deliver 5414 them before 6440 you, and will throw 1949 them into great 1419 confusion 4103 until 5704 they are destroyed 8045.

 7:24 “He will deliver 5414 their kings 4428 into your hand 3027 so that you will make their name 8034 perish 6 from under 8478 heaven 8064; no 3808 man 376 will be able to stand 3320 before 6440 you until 5704 you have destroyed 8045 them.

 7:25 “The graven 6456 images 6456 of their gods 430 you are to burn 8313 with fire 784; you shall not covet 2530 the silver 3701 or the gold 2091 that is on them, nor 3808 take 3947 it for yourselves, or 6435 you will be snared 3369 by it, for it is an abomination 8441 to the LORD 3068 your God 430.

 7:26 “You shall not bring 935 an abomination 8441 into your house 1004, and like 3644 it come 1961 under 2764a the ban 2764a; you shall utterly 8262 detest 8262 it and you shall utterly 8581 abhor 8581 it, for it is something 2764a banned 2764a.
