Deuteronomy 6

1 The end of the Law is obedience. 3 An exhortation thereto.

 6:1 “Now this 2088 is the commandment 4687, the statutes 2706 and the judgments 4941 which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 has commanded 6680 [me] to teach 3925 you, that you might do 6213a [them] in the land 776 where 834 8033 you are going 5674a over 5674a to possess 3423 it,

 6:2 so 4616 that you and your son 1121 and your grandson 1121 might fear 3372a the LORD 3068 your God 430, to keep 8104 all 3605 His statutes 2708 and His commandments 4687 which 834 I command 6680 you, all 3605 the days 3117 of your life 2425b, and that your days 3117 may be prolonged 748.

 6:3 “O Israel 3478, you should listen 8085 and be careful 8104 to do 6213a [it], that it may be well 3190 with you and that you may multiply 7235a greatly 3966, just 3512c as the LORD 3068, the God 430 of your fathers 1, has promised 1696 you, [in] a land 776 flowing 2100 with milk 2461 and honey 1706.

 6:4 ¶ “Hear 8085, O Israel 3478! The LORD 3068 is our God 430, the LORD 3068 is one 259!

 6:5 “You shall love 157 the LORD 3068 your God 430 with all 3605 your heart 3824 and with all 3605 your soul 5315 and with all 3605 your might 3966.

 6:6 “These 428 words 1697, which 834 I am commanding 6680 you today 3117, shall be on your heart 3824.

 6:7 “You shall teach 8150 them diligently 8150 to your sons 1121 and shall talk 1696 of them when you sit 3427 in your house 1004 and when you walk 1980 by the way 1870 and when you lie 7901 down 7901 and when you rise 6965 up.

 6:8 “You shall bind 7194 them as a sign 226 on your hand 3027 and they shall be as frontals 2903 on your forehead 996 5869.

 6:9 “You shall write 3789 them on the doorposts 4201 of your house 1004 and on your gates 8179.

 6:10 ¶ “Then it shall come 1961 about when 3588 the LORD 3068 your God 430 brings 935 you into the land 776 which 834 He swore 7650 to your fathers 1, Abraham 85, Isaac 3327 and Jacob 3290, to give 5414 you, great 1419 and splendid 2896a cities 5892b which 834 you did not build 1129,

 6:11 and houses 1004 full 4392 of all 3605 good 2898 things 2898 which 834 you did not fill 4390, and hewn 2672 cisterns 953a which 834 you did not dig 2672, vineyards 3754 and olive 2132 trees 2132 which 834 you did not plant 5193, and you eat 398 and are satisfied 7646,

 6:12 then watch 8104 yourself, that you do not forget 7911 the LORD 3068 who 834 brought 3318 you from the land 776 of Egypt 4714, out of the house 1004 of slavery 5650.

 6:13 “You shall fear 3372a [only] the LORD 3068 your God 430; and you shall worship 5647 Him and swear 7650 by His name 8034.

 6:14 “You shall not follow 1980 310 other 312 gods 430, any 312 of the gods 430 of the peoples 5971a who 834 surround 5439 you,

 6:15 for the LORD 3068 your God 430 in the midst 7130 of you is a jealous 7067 God 410; otherwise 6435 the anger 639 of the LORD 3068 your God 430 will be kindled 2734 against you, and He will wipe 8045 you off 4480 5921 the face 6440 of the earth 127.

 6:16 ¶ “You shall not put 5254 the LORD 3068 your God 430 to the test 5254, as you tested 5254 [Him] at Massah 4532.

 6:17 “You should diligently 8104 keep 8104 the commandments 4687 of the LORD 3068 your God 430, and His testimonies 5713b and His statutes 2706 which 834 He has commanded 6680 you.

 6:18 “You shall do 6213a what is right 3477 and good 2896a in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068, that it may be well 3190 with you and that you may go 935 in and possess 3423 the good 2896a land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068 swore 7650 to [give] your fathers 1,

 6:19 by driving 1920 out all 3605 your enemies 340 from before 6440 you, as the LORD 3068 has spoken 1696.

 6:20 ¶ “When 3588 your son 1121 asks 7592 you in time 4279 to come 4279, saying 559, ‘What 4100 [do] the testimonies 5713b and the statutes 2706 and the judgments 4941 [mean] which 834 the LORD 3068 our God 430 commanded 6680 you?’

 6:21 then you shall say 559 to your son 1121, ‘We were slaves 5650 to Pharaoh 6547 in Egypt 4714, and the LORD 3068 brought 3318 us from Egypt 4714 with a mighty 2389 hand 3027.

 6:22 ‘Moreover, the LORD 3068 showed 5414 great 1419 and distressing 7451a signs 226 and wonders 4159 before our eyes 5869 against Egypt 4714, Pharaoh 6547 and all 3605 his household 1004;

 6:23 He brought 3318 us out from there 8033 in order 4616 to bring 935 us in, to give 5414 us the land 776 which 834 He had sworn 7650 to our fathers 1.’

 6:24 “So the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 us to observe 6213a all 3605 these 428 statutes 2706, to fear 3372a the LORD 3068 our God 430 for our good 2896b always 3605 3117 and for our survival 2421a, as [it is] today 3117.

 6:25 “It will be righteousness 6666 for us if 3588 we are careful 8104 to observe 6213a all 3605 this 2088 commandment 4687 before 6440 the LORD 3068 our God 430, just 3512c as He commanded 6680 us.
